A company works like a human body, with distinct parts that must cooperate. Sales is the face: salespeople are the visible, outward-facing representatives who meet prospects, knock on doors, and attend networking events.

Now, the first of the 3 frameworks that I wanna use is the analogy of the human body. This is pretty straightforward, and I think you guys will understand it pretty easily. But the human body is made up of multiple different faculties, okay? We have a head with eyes, nose, ears, a face, all of this stuff. Then we've got a body or a torso. We've got hands and arms and legs and feet and all of these different things. The human body is capable of accomplishing a lot of things, but it's always done through the coalescence or the cooperation between these faculties to accomplish things. The brain thinks certain things, the mouth says certain things, the eyes see things, the hands respond. So the body works in unison with these different faculties. Now, where do these three pillars fall when it comes to seeing your company as a human body? I think this will be helpful. I tend to see sales as the face of the business. The reason is because salespeople are and should be out in the world talking to people, meeting people, and people are seeing our face, our salespeople. Our salespeople may be knocking doors, they're running sales appointments, they're doing networking events or home and garden shows or who knows what. They might be doing video calls or on the phone, but people are seeing and hearing the face of our company, which is the sales pillar. Mm-hmm.
