Short monologue/advice from Nathan about how to ask clients/homeowners for referrals. Main points: overcome awkwardness by practicing a short script, believe in the value you provided so you genuinely want others to receive it, and use a simple, memorized question to request referrals (example phrasing included).

Once you've done a job for a homeowner, what are some of yalls favorite ways of getting them to refer you to neighbors, friends, family, etc. There's a couple of different things around this one too. It's also, it can be an awkward question. And I think one of the reasons why so many guys don't do it is they feel awkward asking, well, did you guys feel a little bit awkward pitching today? Uh huh. What are you gonna do? You're gonna pitch a hundred times, you're gonna pitch 200 times, you're gonna get so good at this pitch that you were doing earlier today, it just rolls right off you. Exactly. When you know how to say it. Do the same thing for referrals. A couple of things to keep in mind. Number one, you, number one, have to believe that what you're offering is so valuable that they're gonna want other people they know and love to get that same value from you. And it doesn't matter whether it was an inspection with a report and you never did business again. Whatever it is, you got to offer the value, then believe that it is that value and then create some sort of very simple script. Okay. It could be something as easy as, you know, Mrs. Smith, did you, did you find what we did today here valuable to you? Did you, did you find that you get that confirmation, that affirmation? Yes, Nathan, I did. This was actually very mellow. Awesome. Do you know any, anybody else in your family or a friend of yours that could probably use the kind of value I offered you today? What is that? Just a few words in a sentence. And if you have that memorized and you know it, right, There's a company out there, bikini company, they teach the, oh, by the way, I'm never too busy for any of your referrals. And it's how they end basically every single conversation and it's how they train it. So remember, associate your value with wanting to help others and then be willing to ask so that you can hear.
