Jim Johnson (speaker) explains the "Friends and Family" stage in the entrepreneurial journey, where solopreneurs begin to scale by involving close helpers to build repeatable processes. He emphasizes documenting 'how-to' steps for tasks (example: lead handling), specifying where to record data (Excel/CRM), assigning tasks, and naming the tool so non-founder helpers can repeat work reliably.

So let's talk about the next one because this is where we really start to interact with you guys. When we do our one on one coaching, you're starting to get beyond you. You remember, you're this operator, solopreneur person. You got all the hats on, you're kind of doing everything and now you've decided to scale up just a little bit and grow and you've moved into this entrepreneurial stage is what we call it, where you're looking at friends and family. Friends and family are who's going to come and help us. That friends and family. What we're doing there, we're building the repeatability. That's what we're doing. We're building the repeatability. So what it is, the actions that we have to take are what are the how to's and tools. So if you think about this, if you were looking at it like by milestone, let's just take the lead milestone as an example. Here I went, hey, what can I repeat with leads over and over again? Okay, now that I've learned I can repeat that thing, let me document. I know I can put a lead into my Excel spreadsheet or into a CRM. I know that I can assign that lead. I know like these tasks. Now how do I actually do that? So you got to give a description of the how to. This makes it clear for a person that's not you how to do the thing that you're. The task is interlead. The how to is type it here, here, here and here. And then what tool CRM and the name of that CRM. So you're building out this process over time through each one of your stages.
