Coach Thibodeau with Contractor Coach Pro here, bringing you another coaching moment. We had a conversation at this event here this week with a guy who was a salesperson who was really asking questions about whether or not he should be considering becoming a sales leader. Now, the first thing that I wanted to put inside of his head was this idea that becoming a sales leader from a salesperson is not necessarily a step up, especially because your role and your job is going to change. And honestly, if you want to be a great leader, you should be very concerned about service. And so in many cases, your pay might go down, your hours might go up. The amount of time you spend with new people and being out in the world, that might go down. The amount of attention you have to pay to reports and data might go up. So before you start thinking that the logical next step is to become a leader, you need to ask yourself a few questions. What do I like doing? What do I really like doing? You might discover that the things you need to do as a leader, you actually don't really enjoy that much. But if you're the kind of person who likes to coach and mentor and train and teach and hold people accountable, as well as dig into data and information so that you can make non emotional decisions, oftentimes those are signs of somebody who is a leader. It's not just a bump up in position and some sometimes it's not a bump up in pay either. Did I end that okay? Felt a little short. Timid, Hill out, something like that.
