A short transcript excerpt from a YouTube podcast where host Jim Johnson and a guest discuss barriers and opportunities in the roofing and construction industry. The conversation emphasizes mindset—overcoming internal obstacles—and encouraging young women and peers to consider roofing as a viable, rewarding career.
And I think they have far less obstacles than you do, but they just don't open the door, they don't get out of their vehicle. They don't create the activity. And that obstacle is in their head more than it is anywhere else. And so, to see you do what you've done, I hope it inspires others that are watching this to go, you know, what if she has all those obstacles in her way, and she's willing to go fight tooth and nail, claw her way through.
And the reason why is just because I want to share with not only the. The girls, but more people like my age and other people, and probably mostly the girls, that this is a cool place to be. Because a lot of people, they don't think about, especially young woman, they probably will not think about going to work for the roofing company.
