A short conversational excerpt from a YouTube video on self-awareness in personal development and leadership. Speakers (SPEAKER A and Jim Johnson) argue that increasing self-awareness is foundational to improving leadership ability and give brief examples (approachability, mood interpretation, giving help) to illustrate how self-perception affects interactions.

The beginning of any self development or growth starts with self awareness and so if you want to increase your leadership ability you have got to become aware of yourself this is one of the most difficult things I think for human beings to do When I'm, when I'm talking to people what are common ways people respond to me when do I tend to make things better or worse When I walk into the room if nobody's ever asking for your help then either A you're unapproachable or B they don't think you can help or C they don't want your brand of help.
And even that you might not be a leader you might just be an encyclopedia.
You could if you're in a bad mood and somebody responds to you and they're maybe quick, short or to the point do you interpret that as they're in a bad mood too? I'm just giving quick examples but your self awareness has got to increase exponentially if you want to grow your leadership.
