Speaker (Jim Johnson) describes a year-long mission to document and simplify business processes to be prepared for hiring. They emphasize simplifying overthinking, identifying real needed roles (vs. imagined ones), finding and fixing holes in systems, and the motivating excitement this planning brings.

This is really important. Part of my mission this year is to figure out my processes so that I'm prepared to hire. And what I've found when I was breaking down this problem, and I've still got so much to do with it, and this is why I'm loving it so much, is that I have this grand plan of like all these different positions that I need, you know, to fill out these certain roles and get these things done. And as I'm filling out, I'm like, wow, I am overthinking this way too much. I can simplify this so much and it's going to make making the process so much easier. And it's helping me identify holes that I have in my systems that need to be, you know, zipped up or sewed up, whatever, whatever it is, identifying the real positions that I need, not these made up positions that I want or think I want, I think I need. So like I said before, like, the process itself isn't necessarily fun, but knowing how what it's going to do for me and do for my business is it's exciting for me. Like, I get up and I can't wait to start working on it today. You know what I mean? It's just, it's a good one for me.
