Hello and welcome to this episode of The Unnoticed Entrepreneur, and we're going to Dublin in Ireland to meet Claire Mason. So Claire, you and I are going to talk about how you've managed to get your clients into some of the world's biggest titles. You've managed to get your clients across titles— well, you could tell us— Forbes, Business Insider, Inc., CNBC, all of that from your offices there in Dublin. Claire, tell us, how can they get that kind of coverage? How does it work?
It's actually one of the myths around the media that you need connections or some kind of secret ingredient to open the doors to the media for you. But I'm here to say, no, you don't. What you need and the way you unlock those kinds of publications that you saw on my website and the ones you called out is the power of a good story. And I can promise every unnoticed entrepreneur who's listening to this podcast that they have a good story. So whether they chat with someone like you and me, or me, or they research in other ways, your story will open the door to the media world for you. And I'm really looking at what they would believe their 3 main messages are. I mean, that's the key for publicity as well as for social media. Find your 3 main messages. and then find 100 ways or 1,000 ways of saying those 3 main messages. Obviously, I am not the only publicist in the world, but the 3 main messages that I go out with is firstly how visibility matters. Secondly, I go out a lot with messaging around how establishing yourself as a thought leader is actually an act of service to your audience. And then my third main message would be around the whole area of how as we have brought the CRM platforms on board. I am not saying we should not have marketing technology, but we have lost our focus on the top-of-the-funnel relationship building that actually gets people to become leads. But your 3 main messages is what you want to be known for now and into the future, and it is very connected with your values and your legacy. Think of your legacy basically when you are talking about your 3 main messages. So, what is it that you want to be known for? I do not discriminate when I tell people to build personal brands. So, whether you are a full-time employee, Or you are the founder of a company, or you're an executive in another company, you should be building your personal brand because it really is the thing that will future-proof you no matter what economic cycle we're going through.
