Businesses generate 10 zettabytes of data annually, and storage demand will double soon. Data centres and cloud services depend on each other: centres provide the physical infrastructure while cloud growth drives demand for flexible capacity. Digital Realty Trust's modular approach lets companies scale in real time, and SoftLayer uses their facilities across 300,000 sq ft globally.

The University of California, San Diego reported that businesses produce 10 zettabytes of data today. That's a tremendous amount of information that's floating across the globe. That information will need to be supported by computing capacity and storage. IDC reported that by 2014, The demand for storage, for servers will double. That storage and that server computing capacity will need to be supported by hardware and software that need to reside on a data center floor. We see a very strong symbiotic relationship between data centers and cloud. Data centers will continue to support the growth of cloud technology. Digital Realty Trust has a very unique proposition because of its modular approach to data center deployment, we're able to match the capacity requirement on demand to enable clouds. So cloud is enabled by data centers, and data centers will continue to be enabled by cloud.
Digital Realty Trust has been our partner for a number of years, and Basically, they provide us with the infrastructure that our data center sits in. At SoftLayer itself, there's essentially 4 methodologies that we follow. And the first step is ultimately to look at a world-class data center environment. And obviously, there are a lot of players that's out there in the market today. And we obviously look at a lot of them and ultimately Digital Realty Trust was the one that we have chosen to partner with globally around the world. So today we have like 300,000 square feet of data center space. You know, majority of them are with Digital. We just launched Singapore as well as Amsterdam this month. And basically we'll continue to grow with them in other parts of the world as well.
