What Personality Traits Should A PR Professional Have

One candidate who wrote to us said, what personality traits should a PR person have? Well, obviously there are many different kinds of agencies and in-house Opportunities. So personality traits may vary according to the kind of place that you're going to work. But in my experience, a PR person really has self-confidence. That's probably one of the key traits because they're going to be taking messages and communicating on behalf of their client or on behalf of their organization if they're in-house. So they need to be self-confident enough to stand up. or be filmed like this and actually speak or write on behalf of an organization. The second is that they, they need to have some communication skills. The key role of the person in PR is to communicate for the purposes of influence or education or persuasion. So if they can't communicate very well themselves, they're going to have a hard time communicating on behalf of the organization. Perhaps the final, maybe surprising trait I would say is to be interested in the world, because public relations and communications, they don't stand still.
