In this vlog, Jimmy Butler III documents a birthday hike in Vancouver, British Columbia, celebrating his friend Angel Robertson. The video opens with Jimmy’s over‑the‑top preparation at a local outdoor store, where he purchases a mix of essential and absurd items (knife, frisbee, snake pellets, rope, energy gel) while joking about Sasquatch and being ready for a five‑day trek despite only planning a one‑hour hike. The group, including Darryl, Rob, and endurance athlete Nikki, turns the outing into a light‑hearted competition to see who can reach the summit fastest. Jimmy boasts about his hiking experience across all 50 U.S. states and 13 countries, positioning himself as the "best hiker." As the trail progresses, his confidence wanes: he struggles with steep sections, shaking legs, and a fear of falling off cliffs into water he can’t swim in. The narrative oscillates between comedic self‑deprecation, exaggerated bravado, and genuine awe of the natural surroundings. By the end, Jimmy reaches the summit, declares his unity with nature, and reflects humorously on the experience, ending with a tongue‑in‑cheek comment about hanging onto a tree and the fleeting nature of such adventures.

Oh, I looked down again. Oh, I'm gonna throw up. Hiking was phenomenal. [MUSIC] I am so happy to be here! Vancouver, British Columbia, that's where we're at. What we're doing here, celebrating a great friend of mine, Angel Robertson, her birthday, we came out here, and the one thing that all of us have in common that we didn't do before was go on a hike. Before the hike, it was all about getting everything that you needed. So we talked about 13 minutes to go into a hiking store and get everything that you need for hiking. How I look, Darryl? Some of my items. A knife. In case I'm out there with Sasquatch and we go toe to toe. A Frisbee. Obviously you gotta have that, you know, you're out there, you get bored. Castaway. Think about Castaway. If he didn't have that volleyball, he was done. Hey, y'all got snake pellets in case I see a snake? No. Dude, that's for like going for a 5-day trip. If we get stranded, I'm prepared. I need a rope in case we fall off a cliff. We're going for an hour. Hour hike, he got a $5,000 backpack on. What's wrong with him? Oh, this is energy gel. We might need this. I had all the necessary and unnecessary essentials. Oh my God. Okay, everybody laugh now. Man, you got lots of needs here. 15 minutes of it was checking out, and she was like, "I've never seen anybody come in here and get as much stuff." if y'all just got for an hour hike. What? I am done. Okay, Rob, well, when you fallin' off the side of the cliff, I'm gonna be like, "Hang in there, I don't got no rope." Where are you guys even going? Doesn't matter. But we gotta be prepared. I'm locked in. I'm not a basketball player. I'm in Vancouver. I'm an outdoorsman. I'm locked in. I gotta be the best hiker. I must win. You like hikes? I love 'em. You like hikes? Yeah, I do 'em. I've been hiking in all 50 states and 13 foreign countries. Oh, perfect. Yeah, the competition was who's a better hiker. She can't get up there faster than me. At 5 Canadian dollars, she can't beat me up the mountain. I'm the best hiker, and I'm gonna tell you why I'm the best hiker. I had all the gear, I look the best. Look good, feel good, hike good. They got all this extra gear and all that stuff. Man, we going for a short hike. You know, they got extra weight, man. They ain't ready. Nikki's a pro, by the way. Like, what she call it? An ultra— was it an ultra marathonist? I don't think that was the word. Right, I'm an endurance athlete. I see, so are you jumping in on the competition? I am! Now I have to. As soon as you said it was a competition, then I'm in. Everything's about competition. I told her I was a better hiker than her too, and whoa. You know, sometimes you just gotta stay in your lane. Let's do this. Hey! Y'all already not at a good pace, you know what I'm saying? Good pace. She started jogging up that trail so fast. I'm like, "Nikki, hold on. Baby steps now. Let's get in the woods before we just take off." I didn't think it was gonna be like that. I just thought like, "Yo, it's gonna just be like a trail that's going up through the mountain." So I was like, "Okay, it can't be that bad." Little did I know that I was wrong. Oh my God. Oh, wait. My legs are shaking. Oh, I can barely go. Oh my God. I'm gonna start crying. Oh my mama. Okay, you got steps here, then you got a flat trail, and then you gotta go from little rock to little rock to big rock to medium-sized rock, and then you gotta climb up on this thing, and it's just okay. It's a full-body workout. [FOREIGN LANGUAGE] I could see out of my peripherals, like, just like the sights. I just don't do water. And I saw it over here. And if I roll off the cliff this way, I'ma hit the ground. Dude. Dead. If I roll off the cliff that way, I'm gonna land in the water. I can't swim. Dead. And then when I looked like between my legs, I could see the land and the water. And that was when I was like— How you feeling? Who, me? Man, I went hiking. I made it to the top. I ain't worried about y'all. Y'all kiss my ass. How about that? Can't believe that y'all left me. Those aren't really true friends. To the very end. You on your own. Oh, I looked down again. Oh, I'm gonna throw up. I love nature, rocks, and ants. Like, so that's where my hiking trip ended, was at that tree when I knew at that moment in time that me and nature were one. Where is he? Hanging onto the tree. Still? Yeah. You ever look at rocks up close? Yeah, man, I'm like an archaeologist. People were coming down, people was like, "Did your friend ever let go of the tree?" Oh no. It's like I always say, man, it's a first and last time for everything. 'Cause you don't gotta worry about me doing that again. Please. What?
