Jim Penman started mowing lawns as a student to pay rent and clear debt, never expecting it to become a franchise. He learned that life rarely goes as planned: outcomes are better or worse than imagined, but never what you actually predicted.
One lesson for life I found is nothing nothing works out the way you expect I was just wanting to ask what inspired you or what was your inspiration behind starting Jim's group? Well starting mowing full time was the need to pay my rent and make a living and pay off my considerable debts not anything very spiritual it's my part time student job that was really what it was I was gardening since 1970 and I was gardening and then I bought a lawnmower my student job all through my undergraduate my PhD years and I ended up doing and it just went from there I didn't in the beginning think that it was anything special Even when I launched the franchise I didn't expect to be that successful it was kind of surprising but one lesson for life I found is nothing nothing works out the way you expect. Most things don't work out nearly as well as you expect Some things work out much better than you expect but never ever what you expect.
