Want to launch your own business? Here's some advice. Pick an industry without entrenched competitors. Taking on McDonald's is hard, but there are thousands of industries where competition is weak. I especially like home services for this reason. Research the industry. Read everything you can find. Watch podcasts and videos, even find a job in it if possible. Consider starting part time. Learn the ropes first. Develop a passion for customers, actively seek out negatives and work tirelessly to improve. Focus every day on how to do better. Better service, lower cost. Technology is your friend.
