JJ Virgin shows three TRX suspension trainer moves you can do anywhere: a chest press for pushing, a row for pulling, and an assisted squat for hip hinging. The strap works on any wall or door, targets multiple muscle groups, and travels with you.
Here's how you use a TRX at home. This is one of the best-kept secrets in the fitness world because you can take this on the road with you. You can do it at home and it basically turns any wall or door jamb into a gym. So I love to focus on upper body pushing, upper body pulling, and hip and thigh hinging. I'm gonna show you a great exercise for each one of these. For upper body pushing, here's a chest press.
For upper body pulling, a row. For hip and thigh hinging, here's what's great.
You can do a full range squat because you've got the TRX Assist. If you're looking to work your glutes, here's one that you can do, and here's the way to do it for double duty.
So you've done a glute bridge before. The way you make it even harder is to use a yoga block in between your legs that you have to put pressure to. So now we've got a glute and inner thigh isometric exercise. And then what you want to think of is driving up with your heels. So you're squeezing at the top. And this isn't happening at your lower back. This is a hip hinge move. Now that looks pretty easy, but I have a way to make it harder. So to increase the intensity, what you're going to do is keep that block there, but put a leg out. And drop and lift. And we just basically doubled the intensity, and we're also getting an inner thigh workout too.
