You know, I've been talking about environmental toxins forever, and laundry detergent is a sneaky one. A lot of them contain harsh chemicals like dyes, preservatives, and even UV brighteners. Those brighteners don't actually clean anything. They just coat fabric so your eyes think things look whiter or brighter. That's more chemicals I don't want on my family's sheets or skin. And if you've got sensitive skin or allergies around the house, this can be a big problem. That's what got my attention about Earth Breeze. It looks like a dryer sheet, but it's actually laundry detergent. You toss one in the washer and that's it. No pouring, no mess, and no heavy plastic jug. Their packaging is lightweight cardboard, which helps reduce plastic waste. And if you choose the fragrance free option, it's gentle, hypoallergenic, non irritating and non sensitizing. I really like how simple it is and how fresh and clean everything comes out without those unnecessary chemicals. Should be a right, not a competition. At University of Phoenix, you'll get the best scholarship or savings you qualify for. Simple as that. Explore scholarship options at University of Phoenix all right, let's talk hot flashes. And what are some of the things that you can do to minimize them? I don't know that anything can actually prevent them, but we sure can make them a heck of a lot better. So I'm going to throw some of my favorite supplements to you. First of all, remember, if you're heading into menopause, there's some really important things to do here. Number one, make sure that your thyroid is functionally, optimally. I don't mean in normal ranges, I mean optimally. That means your TSH is going to be somewhere in the 0.5 to 1 range. And then make sure that your antibodies are low, like extremely low to zero and that your free T3 and T4 and reverse T3 are all looking awesome. So work with the functional medicine doctor there because that is going to be super important for how all of your hormone cascade. Ditto vitamin D because vitamin D is a pro hormone. So make sure those are both looking good. Vitamin D, your 25 hydroxy vitamin D is in the 20 is in the 60 to 80 ngs per ML range. And then make sure you're taking really good care of your adrenal health, your cortisol, your dhea. Because as you start to go through menopause you are going to depend more on your adrenals and producing some estrogen through them. So you need to take really good care of your adrenals during this time. So this is a great time to do meditation, some restorative yoga, getting massages, you know that self care stuff that seems to fall off your list. This is time to put yourself first. Now next thing is really look at your diet. Obviously you want a very blood sugar balanced diet. So shout out to sugar impact diet that can help you do that. And then look where you can boost some phytoestrogens from food. Some of my favorites for that are flaxseed meal. Freshly ground flaxseed meal is amazing here. Also great for bone health, sesame seeds and garbanzos. So hummus, tahini, flax, working in some of those here can be super helpful. And then also the supplements that I really love, Annatto E has some amazing research on helping with hot flashes. It also can help with bone health and heart health. So these are all critical for menopause. So I would look at taking Annatto E annattotokotrienols and the brand I like there is designed for health 300 milligrams a day. On that I would also look at a product called Femguard plus balance by them and I'm going to shout out a couple ingredients that can be super helpful here. We talked about things that help with hormone balance, black cohosh Vitex and Polygonum can help here tremendously. They also have some things in there that can help with detoxifying estrogens, bad estrogens. So things like chrysan and dim can be super helpful there too, as well as broccoli sprouts and eating broccoli and broccoli sprouts. Super important. And then here's a hack. Ready? Because if you are turning your bedroom air conditioning way down and your partner's getting upset, here's what you can do. You can use a chili pat now. I was using one of these before. They recently upgraded them. They've gotten out the EMFs. So this is fantastic because it's got cool water that runs through it so it cools you down. So you lie on this pad and it will cool you down. You can actually make it warm or you can make it cold. So it's fantastic. If you have different body temperature needs than your partner, this is an easy way to solve it. So Chilipad is a great hack there. And again, remember, this is a time where there's not a whole lot of margin for error during menopause, so you've got to do everything possible to take care of yourself. Balance your blood sugar, manage your stress, optimize your thyroid function, eat well, exercise well so that you can get through this as easily as possible. Good luck and let me know how it goes.
