Hey JJ, what's one of the hidden costs of red wine that you think most people aren't aware of?
I think most people don't realize that US wines are not screened for all of these additives. So it turns out there's over 100 different additives that US winemakers can put into their wines and not tell you. I found this out from my buddy Todd White of Dry Farm Wines. And once he told me this, I did my own N of 1 study of trying my California wines, my beloved California wines versus Dry Farm Wines. Massive difference. So when I am drinking wine, I stick with dry farm wines or European wines, and I stay away from the U.S. wines where I don't really know what they could be putting in them that could be hurting me beyond just the alcohol. So if you look at what's been going on in California, there's been a lot of fires, and a lot of fires up in the wine country. And when they use those flame retardants, those are forever chemicals that go in the soil, and then you've got water, and that's going everywhere. If it's in the soil, it's in the grapes. If it's in the grapes, it's in the If it's in the wine and you're drinking it, it's in you. So beyond just herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, you've also got that issue as well. And all those things just become a total toxic burden that creates havoc and can increase your risk of diabetes, heart disease, and all sorts of cancers.
