This clip from JJ Virgin’s "How To Stay Young" discussion focuses on meal timing and fasting as strategies to promote youthfulness. Speakers recommend spacing meals (aiming for 4–6 hours between meals and a 12–16 hour overnight fast) to trigger autophagy and stem-cell benefits, and emphasize a plate built on protein, healthy fats, and fiber to improve satiety and blood-sugar control. Practical tips include drinking water/iced green tea or black coffee between meals, stopping eating several hours before bed, and gradually stretching between-meal intervals.

I go longer between meals.
Someone just pinged me on a DM on this one. And this is such an important, important topic.
I believe that for a lot of us, we've been trained to snack.
I still remember when this happened, way back when when they took all of the fat out of the food and they started telling us to eat super low fat.
We were hungry all of the time.
And so then we were told to.
Graze, eat every couple hours. Never let yourself feel hunger.
First of all, let's reframe that and know that hunger equals younger.
You actually want to go four to.
Six hours between meals and 12 to 14 hours or even 16 hours on an overnight fast because you trigger something called autophagy. That is your body's self cleaning mechanism. And it helps you build stem cells.
Helps you get younger.
Right.
And we want to be younger longer.
We want to reframe that first, then go. Okay, if you've trained yourself now kind of like Pavlog's dog, to be hungry.
Every couple of hours, how do we fix that? Well, we fix that first by fixing.
What'S on our plate.
Making sure that we're leading first with.
Protein in our plate, building a lot of protein because it's very sat, you feel fuller, longer. Then getting in some healthy fats and then getting them some fiber gives you.
That great blood sugar control that's going to allow you to go four to.
Six hours between meals.
Then between your meals, what are you doing? Drink water, drink iced green tea, drink.
Black coffee if it's early in the.
Day, because quite often we're not hungry, we're thirsty, but we have a crappy.
Thirst mechanism and an overactive hunger mechanism. So that's the first thing I want you to do. Start doing that next thing again.
There's this thing called the second meal phenomenon.
If you blow it at breakfast, you.
Have dessert, you know that muffin that's just a cupcake without the frosting and that skinny latte, just loaded yourself with sugar and carbs.
It's gonna make you hungry in a couple of hours.
We've all noticed that. We've all felt that, you know what that feels like.
So make sure you're eating by the plate.
That protein, fat, fiber, trifecta and lots.
Of fluids in between meals so that.
You aren't as hungry.
That's the super key thing. And then start to just stretch it out.
So maybe you're used to eating every.
Two to three hours.
Let's go every three to four hours, every four to six hours. Start taking overnight fast. Stop eating three to four hours before bed. Wake up, push your breakfast a little bit. Do a fast workout.
All of a sudden, you'll turn around and go, oh, my gosh.
Like, I'm going hours between meals.
And it's no problemo.
Starts by eating by the plate. It starts by drinking a lot of fluids in between meals. You've got this. Let me know how it goes.
