A lot of them contain harsh chemicals like dyes, preservatives, and even UV brighteners. Those brighteners don't actually clean anything, they just coat fabric so your eyes think things look whiter or brighter. That's more chemicals I don't want on my family sheets or skin. And if you've got sensitive skin or allergies around the house, this can be a big problem. That's what got my attention about Earth Breeze. It looks like a dryer sheet, but it's actually laundry detergent. You toss one in the washer and that's it. No pouring, no mess, and no heavy plastic jug. Their packaging is lightweight cardboard, which helps reduce plastic waste. And if you choose the fragrance free option, it's gentle, hypoallergenic, non irritating and non sensitizing. I really like how simple it is and how fresh and clean everything comes out without those unnecessary chemicals. Hey, it's JJ Virgin and welcome to the JJ Virgin Lifestyle show where I give you the latest content cutting edge intel to help you look, feel and think better. Now today's show is a what's going to sound like a heavy subject. We're going to talk about breast cancer, but we're going to talk about breast cancer and really a lot of the myths around it to help you release any of the fear you might have about this. And I have an amazing guest to take this one on and you'll hear why as we get into the podcast. Because she has her own personal health journey throughout it. Her name is Dr. Veronique Desaligner and I'm going to be calling her Dr. V throughout this show. She has been in the health world for gosh over 30 years of active practice before she really tackled breast cancer both personally and then once she found her own way to heal non toxically. She wrote an amazing book that's actually a number one best selling book, Heal breast Cancer Naturally. So let me tell you a little bit about her before I bring her on. She has spent again active practice for 30 years and she was very active in chiropractic, bioenergetics, meridian stress analysis, homeopathy and digital thermography. So she had a really extensive background and then you'll hear the story of how she discovered her breast cancer and you'll also be able to grab her guide her number one best selling book for free. So I am super honored to have Dr. Veronique desalier with us today on the show. All right, let's do it. Dr. Veronique Desenier. Did I do that? Well you did great. We're going to call you Dr. V. Welcome to the show. I'm so glad you're here with me today.
Thanks jj. I'm excited to be here.
Well this is such a big topic because there's so much fear around it. And I know with a lot of what we're going to talk about today, you're going to help people get rid of a lot of that fear. So let's dive in about a lot of these myths that are out there about breast cancer. But before we dive into that, because that's what I want to make sure we address, I'd love you to tell your story and how you got into this.
Well, the short story version is basically, I was a bioenergetic chiropractor in practice for about 25 years, and I was working with patients literally all over the globe because of the protocols that I was using. We were seeing some amazing results. One day I'm getting ready for work, I step in the shower, doing a self breast exam, and bam. You know, that fateful lump in my left breast that really changed the course of my life. And the rabbit hole that I went down was, how could somebody like me develop breast cancer? Because here I was helping all these people regain their health and, you know, turn things around, and yet I was the one faced with this issue of breast cancer. So it really helped me to take a closer look at my, my life, my, you know, my habits, doing a lot of research. And, you know, that's when I decided to create a protocol, a seven step system. Because if I was confused and frustrated and overwhelmed by, you know, where do I start, what do I do? Then I couldn't imagine, you know, the average person who's faced with a diagnosis like that. So that's how the journey began. And since then, we put up a website after I quote, unquote, retired from my chiropractic practice. And we've worked with women in 23 countries, we've supported them, we've empowered them to help them to see that you don't have to fear a diagnosis when it comes to breast cancer.
So before we go on to some of the myths that you uncovered as you were going through all of this, how are you now doing?
Great. Awesome. I mean, I get periodic checks and everything is well. I'm following the seven essential system. Vital, full of energy and doing great.
Love that. All right, now let's talk about some of the different things that come up. Because what I've seen from people is they get this diagnosis and they feel like they need to take immediate action that immediately they must go do a mastectomy, a lumpectomy, start on different types of chemo. You know, what's the real answer? Someone gets diagnosed.
Yeah, I'm so glad you bring up that point, because that's where a lot of women get into the panic mode. And if they're, you know, working with a traditional doctor, then they're going to want to put them through that. You know, what I call the conveyor belt type of treatment, where right away they want to start all these traditional treatments. But when you have a diagnosis like that, it's not like you're having a heart attack. It's not a crisis. But moment you have time to, you know, think about your options, you have time to research, you have time to, you know, talk to other women who've been through the process and make an informed decision. You know, whatever you choose, if you choose to do traditional treatments, that's great. But make sure that you know your options and that if this is your life and this is your body and you don't have to do everything they tell you to do.
Now, what about someone who does genetic testing and finds out that they have the BRCA gene?
That's a big one. Because we know, unfortunately, you know, Angelina Jolie went through that very situation and it, it really created what I call, you know, Hollywood hype. I mean, she, I don't judge her. She, you know, saw her mother die a very horrible death with cancer. So there was a lot of fear in her decision, I'm sure. But what women don't realize is, you know, the BRCA gene is actually a tumor suppressive gene. It's a protective gene. And we know with research that we have control over our genes. We know that the science of epigenetics, you know, how you can change your gene expression just with your thoughts, with your nutrition, with your lifestyle. And so the BRCA gene does not have to be a death sentence. And, you know, going through with, you know, prophylactic mastectomies and, you know, hysterectomies, that does not change the impact. You have to look at the root cause of what may have caused that BRCA gene mutation in the first place.
And so as far as things that can cause cancer, because you hear so often that, you know it's estrogen that's doing it, or what are you seeing as some of the root causes of breast cancer?
Oh, there's so many. But absolutely toxic exposure, you know, essential number two is to reduce your toxic exposure. And we know that all the chemical estrogens in the environment to the pesticides, the herbicides, all the plastics, the lotions and potions that people put on their skin, aluminum from antiperspirant, the metals in their teeth, mercury and aluminum, are classified as metalloestrogens. They literally stimulate and mimic estrogen in the body. So if you can become aware of those things and start limiting and reducing your toxic exposure, it can have a huge impact and realize that it's not your hormones that is causing cancer. And this is one of the big myths that I really want to debunk, because women become afraid of their hormones. They've been told by their doctor that their hormones are driving the cancer. So they have to put them on all this toxic medication that suppresses their hormones. But then they don't tell them that these medications, some of them, are classified as Class 2 carcinogens. They have the potential of creating secondary cancers. And.
What are some of those drugs that are Class 2 carcinogens that can do this?
Well, tamoxifen is a big one. Most people are aware of a drug like tamoxifen. And according to the world health organization and the American Cancer society, they have labeled it as a Class 2 possible human carcinogen. And some of those side effects are uterine cancer, stomach cancer, colon cancer, blood clots, impaired memory, headaches, reduced sex drive, osteoporosis. I mean, who wants that? I mean, you need your hormones.
I know that's the biggest challenge. You know, you hear someone doing that and I look and I go, but then now you've got your risk of heart disease, and you know your brain's gonna suffer. Brain, brain, bones, and heart are key here. And women die most of heart disease. And now you've just set them up for that. So.
Absolutely. And the thing to realize is if our hormones drove the cancer, then every 20 year old on this planet would have breast cancer. We need our hormones for our health. And so there may be an issue where you have a methylation problem. In other words, you have a hard time metabolizing your estrogen. And there's ways to support that. You may have a genetic weakness that keeps you from metabolizing estrogen, but there's ways to work with that. And that's such a disservice that I see with traditional doctors. They never look at that methylation issue with women and how they're breaking down their hormones, and that's such a big key in their healing process.
And what about plant estrogens?
We hear that all the time. You know, don't eat flax because it's a plant estrogen. It has estrogen in it. And there you go. It's the fear of estrogen. But science has shown us that plant estrogens are very beneficial. I mean, let's face it, food's been around for a long time. There was a study done at the University of Toronto, for example, where they fed women muffins that had a teaspoon or five teaspoons of ground flaxseed. And they fed them these muffins for 30 days. And they were probably made with white flour and sugar, but who cares? They got the flaxseed and after 30 days they had surgery. And they measured the markers of the tumors and the size of the tumor and they found a drastic reduction, anywhere from 30% to 71% reduction in the tumor growth and cancer markers. Something as simple as five teaspoons of ground flaxseed every day can really help prevent DNA damage. It helps to metabolize some of the estrogens, it decreases the cell multiplication of the cancer cells. It has a lot of beneficial values.
So I know a lot of this is in your book, and I mean, I love these simple things like that because I'm always keen on the little hinges that can swing the big doors. But I also know that a big key here is early detection. What would you recommend for people on early detection? Are there tests or besides the self breast exam, what else is there out there?
Well, we know that traditional early detection includes mammography. I'm not saying that I'm against a mammogram. However, According to a 25 year and a 50,000 woman Canadian study, they found that mammograms did not decrease breast cancer mortality rate, not even by 1%. And they found that it was just as effective as a self breast exam in detecting a lump. So that being said, there's other technology out there. Thermography is one of the tools that has really come of age. I mean, it's been around for, you know, 20, 20 years. But in the last 10 years or so, I've really seen a shift where people can now find a thermographist, medical doctor or clinician. And basically what thermography does is it reads the infrared heat coming off of your body. And we know that all disease starts with inflammation, that breast cancer can be a result of hormone imbalances. And so when they take a picture of the breast tissue, for example, if there is some hot red spots in that area, then it's an indication that there may be some physiological changes going on. It cannot diagnose cancer, but it can tell you or alert you years ahead of time. As far as five to eight Years before you actually can feel or see the lump or the bump that's in the breast. There's also some blood work out there which is phenomenal. Something called the Oncoblot test which measures a protein, the Enox2 protein that only cancer cells give off. And this test can tell you if you have cancer and where. And it can determine up to 27 different types of cancer. You know when it's the size of a pinhead. I mean wouldn't you want. Yeah, it's phenomenal. I mean wouldn't you want.
Where does someone get this test?
You can just google oncoblot O n C o B L O T or you can head to our website. It could be made available through us as well.
Excellent too. And we'll have all that in the show notes too. That's breastcancerconqueror.com for the website. And I know you're also going to be giving everyone a free copy of your book. Book which we keep referring to the seven essentials that you've. And I'm looking at these seven essentials. Dr. V. And you know the reality is this is just the way people should be living.
Exactly. You know the seven essential system that I created and obviously my focus is breast cancer because of my personal experience but it can be used for any dis ease. You know D I s dash eas your body is not at ease. So whether it's Ms. Or whether it's rheumatoid arthritis or any diagnosis you've been given, the root cause is always the same. It's what you're eating, it's how you're handling stress, it's what you're exposed to. Toxin wise what do you have in your mouth? Do you have a lot of root canals and heavy metals and your amalgams? So the emotional component is such a big part of it as well. So it's all the same root cause.
And ideally these are things that you're putting into place before so that you don't have to have this kind of a wake up call. That would be the, the goal. I know it's always hard to sell proactive strategies but these things are such just are going to help every area of your life. So you know.
Absolutely.
Yeah, I love, I love them. Looking at the seven and again you can get the seven all of the outline for this and what we'll do is we'll put it at jjvirgin.com forward/bc for I'm going to put BCC for breast cancer conqueror not for breast cancer, for breast cancer conqueror. So jjvirgin.combc you will get the Dr. V's book, Heal Breast Cancer Naturally, the Seven Essential Steps to beating breast cancer. And again, when I looked through this book, I'm like, these are just, these are just essential steps to have an awesome life. Now let's kind of take a sideswipe over here and talk about your awesome life and what makes it awesome. And so what I'd love to throw at you is what's the one thing that you do every day that makes the biggest difference in your life?
Well, there's so many of them. I would have to say it would be the meditation time. I know that we have such a busy, busy life. I mean, we all have so many things to do. Family, work, you know, all that. And it's awesome. But it's so important to pull away from that noise and that busyness and take, you know, 15 to 30 minutes, sometimes 45 minutes, and to really envision the awesome life that you already have. But how can you even make it better and to really create that peace and that calmness in your heart? Because if you're just, you know, in a panic mode all the time, you know, you, you're not going to function as well. And so it's really important create that peaceful place so that every day, you know, you can feel calm about what you're doing and how you're managing your life.
Excellent. So that's one that I've heard from a variety of our health experts we've had on. And I always say success leaves clues.
There you go.
Right? All right, so I want to remind everyone again, breast conquer breast cancer conqueror.com you can get more information. I'm very intrigued with, with that test as well. And then you can grab the free download of Dr. V's book@jjvirgin.com BCC and Dr. V, thank you so much for joining me.

Welcome back. This is the time where I answer a listener's question. And as you know, I am very active on Facebook. Or maybe you don't know, I'm very active on my Facebook professional page. It's JJ Virgin Official and I do a lot of Facebook lives there. So I'm always looking for great questions to bring on over to the podcast. And I was recently doing a Facebook live about hormones and hormone balance. Perfect fit for what we've been talking about today because so much of this is really how do we detoxify the bad estrogens and achieve hormone balance? And one of the questions that came up recently was from Amanda in Tucson. She says, I'm in my 50s and I've just been hitting hard by depression out of nowhere. What should I do? Here's one of the things I want you to consider that starts to happen, and it's going to happen depending on your genetics, your lifestyle, is when you start to really go into perimenopause. But one of the things that happens is estrogen goes down. Estrogen is nature's antidepressant. And so for years, one of the common things that would happen when women went into their doctors complaining about depression and hot flashes and all that is they were put on birth control pills and Prozac. So what I would look at are things that you can do to support healthy hormone levels naturally. And one of the things that I loved was Dr. V sharing how something as simple as adding five teaspoons of freshly ground flaxseed meal, what a difference that could make in your diet. So one of the key things that you want to look at are what are the things that you can do naturally to help benefit a good mood. Now, of course, I've got to put the caveat. If it's if this is severe depression, please go see your doctor. But if you are experiencing some mild mood shifts, look at things that can help you naturally. Obviously, you really want to make sure your vitamin D levels are key here. They are so critical for a good mood and brain health. And fish oil is the next place that I'm going to go. And you know how much I love fish oil. But there's been so much research out there showing how critical good levels of DHA are and for a good healthy brain. So I'd look for a good solid EPA DHA blend. And that's why you want to be taking fish oil and not getting that straight from flax. Now, I love flaxseed meal because of the phytoestrogens in it. So there's the other thing that can help with establishing good hormone balance as you're going through this all and then look at another one. And the other one that I would look at is some high intensity interval training because burst style training can help boost endorphins. So there's a natural, another natural great way to help elevate your mood. Alrighty, if you've got a question, remember I'm very active over on that Facebook page. I'd love to have you join me for a Facebook live. Now. Now, this is the gratitude portion of the show. One of the things that I talk about in a lot on Facebook and in my book, the Miracle Mindset, is how gratitude has really helped me. It's been a practice that I've had forever. I get up every morning, I pull out a journal, I write down at least three things I'm grateful for. And so I decided to incorporate that into my podcast as well and have a gratitude portion of the show. And so what I do is highlight the all a review of the week. And by the way, I read these reviews and my whole team reads reviews. So we so appreciate it when you guys pop on over to itunes and leave a review for for us, we consider it a win for the team. And so today's review is from CVB 16 and from the USA. And here she says, I've been listening to JJ for almost a year and she is incredible. The topics are relevant and inspiring and the special guests are amazing. I won't miss an episode ever. And I often listen more than once just to keep feeding myself positive information. You are an amazing coach, teacher, and inspiration. Keep it up. Hey. I love this CVB for another reason. One of the things I teach in Miracle Mindset is that you've got to surround yourself. You control your environment. So surround yourself with positive, positive people, positive information through your podcast, through video, through what you read. So I love that you are living it. It's awesome. And thank you all for joining me today. I want to remind you that all of this information's awesome when you put it into action. And we gave you one today that's so simple to do. Just start by adding some freshly ground flaxseed meal. Throw that into your shake every morning. It's such an easy one to do. Alrighty. This is JJ versus signing off. Until next time. Make it a great week.
