Overcoming Breast Implant Illness with Diane Kazer
15 Dec 2025 · 42 min
Podcast episode (JJ Virgin host) interviewing Diane Kazer about breast implant illness (BII). Diane shares her personal timeline of symptoms after silicone implants (digestive issues, hormonal disruption, lymphatic swelling, rashes, severe fatigue, immune suppression) and describes the concept of toxic burden — implants as a persistent internal source of multiple chemicals (she cites '38 toxins') including silicone, heavy metals and solvents. They discuss evidence (a study finding silicone migration from the capsule in ~21% of women), testing limitations, genetic differences in detox capacity (MTHFR discussed), clinical steps (consider en bloc/total capsulectomy, pathology testing, prepping body before explant and active detox afterward), and alternatives/reconstruction options (fat transfer, lifts). The episode emphasizes cautious, evidence-minded approaches and links to Diane's book and masterclass for detailed protocols and resources.

Hey, it's J.J. here. You know, I've been talking about environmental toxins forever, and laundry detergent is a sneaky one. A lot of them contain harsh chemicals like dyes, preservatives, and even UV brighteners. Those brighteners don't actually clean anything. They just coat fabric so your eyes think things look whiter or brighter. That's more chemicals I don't want on my family's sheets or skin. And if you've got sensitive skin or allergies around the house, this can be a big problem. That's what got my attention about Earth Breeze. It looks like a dryer sheet, but it's actually laundry detergent. You toss one in the washer and that's it. No pouring, no mess, and no heavy plastic jug. Their packaging is lightweight cardboard, which helps reduce plastic waste. And if you choose the fragrance free option, it's gentle, hypoallergenic, non irritating and non sensitizing. With breast implants. What they're finding, and there was a big study done on this, is that they found that the silica material, it migrated out of the breast capsule for 21% of the women even though most women were unaware that it happened and didn't have any symptoms.

Alrighty. We are going to be diving into breast implant illness today. It's really about how breast implants could potentially be creating problems for you. What are some alternatives to them and if you are going to remove them, what you need to know pre and post. And it's actually an even bigger conversation than that because we're really going to be talking about toxic burden, what could push you over the edge and the impact that that can have on you. I'm going to be talking with Diane Kaiser. She's a pro soccer player turned functional diagnostic nutrition practitioner and a holistic health coach. And she's also really courageous and brave. She has decided to take this subject on because of her own personal story, which we'll be talking about and really be a voice and an educator for how to overcome breast implant illness. She's also the author of Overcoming Breast Implant Illness as well as the creator of the CHI program. Cleanse your body, heal your hormones and ignite your life. Now before we dive in, I want to do a shout out to Julie Laurent. And Julie Laurent left a five star review and she says, I'm a physical therapist who is interested in all aspects of health and find this podcast so informative and inspiring. I've developed a much healthier relationship with food since I started listening and incorporating principles into my daily life. I'm also very tall. Six one well you got me beat by an inch. I'm six feet and I now weigh 158 pounds. Previously 170. Go team. Very good. And I'm stronger and leaner at age 51 than I was in my 30s when I ran every day. But a crap I Gotcha. That's so cool. Thank you. And please keep the podcast coming. Alrighty, I will keep them coming. I want to share one more cool thing with you and then I'll be back. And we will dig into breast implant illness.

Diane Cazar, welcome to the show. Good to have you here.
Hey, jj. Yeah, thanks for having me.
Well, this is quite an interesting topic and if what we're talking about is not you personally, I am willing to bet it's your best friend, sister. You know, it's all around us. So we are going to be talking about overcoming breast implant illness, which is the name of your new book. Congratulations.
Oh, thanks.
It's quite a lot of work as we know. And what I'd love to start with is before we really dig into what Is breast implant illness how to know if you have it? How did you get started in this? Why are you doing this? Because you're really on a mission?
Yeah. Yeah, I am. Well, for me, I decided that I needed breast implants when I was 31 years old. There's a lot of cyto pressure, as we all know, to be Photoshop perfect. And at the time, I was competing in bikini competition. And so, as we all know, we can't selectively choose where our body fat goes when we lose weight. Right.
Wouldn't that be amazing? This would be like if we could hack that piece.
But wait, jj, there's more. Stay tuned to the end of this episode where we will talk that that is possible.
No one's leaving now, Diane.
Okay, cool. Stay on the edge of your seats. Everybod I was about 10% body fat, and I qualified for nationals. And so I realized that not everybody's a bikini competitor, but if you look at Instagram, a lot of people are trying to be. And we all have this desire to look and love our body and love the way we look.
Not to be totally naive. I don't even know what a bikini competition is. Is this like a bodybuilding competition, or is this like a look good in a swimsuit? Like, I don't even know what any of this stuff is.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thanks for bringing me back on earth. You put on blingy bikinis and crystal high heels, and you walk on stage and you show. It's kind of like a pageant, you.
Know, I can't think of something I'd rather do less.
I know.
I mean, maybe a colonoscopy, but that's right up there with it. Okay, so you were gonna do this thing that most women look at you at the beginning and go, that sounds like a rotten thing. Okay, so you're now, but you're 10%. You're qualified for this national. So what happens?
Yeah, so I was proud of myself, and I've always been an extreme competitor athlete, like pro soccer. So I'm an extreme woman. But I also work with a lot of women who are just fit moms or they're business owners or they're just trying to crush it or just find their energy and their body back again. Who had breast implants and have had problems. I got my breast implants, and I ended up qualifying for nationals at the show before I got my implants and then went to state and got my butt handed to me. That was pretty much when I stopped competing and realized that it was a pretty Toxic choice that I had made for myself and it wasn't for me. So what had ended up happening? Oh, and by the way, I thought I looked beautiful with them. I mean, they looked so great, so of course I wanted them. And within about six months, I started experiencing a lot of digestive issues like belly bloating. I found it very difficult to be on stage because that's when you're wanting your stuff and you're showing your six pack abs.
No one wants to be in a bikini with a bloated belly on stage. I don't want to be on a bikini on stage. But if I had a bloated belly, belly even worse. So go ahead.
Yeah, yeah. So we can keep digging the making it worse scenario. So on stage, extreme belly bloat. Not wanting to be up there, just wanting to put my sweats on and go hang out of my bed. That's what happened. About six months later, I started experiencing those symptoms and then it became hormonal chaos. Then it became harder to get to the gym. And then it became that I started to see that a lot of my skin and over my body was getting rashed. So it progressively just got worse and worse and I didn't know what the root of it was. So for eight years, nine years, I was cleansing my body. I became a functional diagnostic nutrition practitioner. I ran a bunch of advanced diagnostic labs on myself. I did all of the quintessential things that I thought I needed to do to heal my body. Never really thinking that it could have been my breast implants that were a source of it. And I say a source because a lot of people want to point to breast implants as the only possible source, but that's just not true.
Well, it's not that way with anything in our. I mean, it's like, like, okay, if you get hit by a car and your leg breaks, the car accident broke your leg. But beyond that, like, you know, most things are multifactorial. But this definitely sounds like it was a contributory thing that potentially just pushed you over the toxic, you know, limit.
Yeah, yeah, it's, it's one of those, like thinking about your cup as being. You can only. Your body can only handle so much toxicity. And with breast implants, it's like if you're thinking about increments of water or toxicity you're pouring into a glass, it's a pretty significant one. So we've got things we're eating. Like, you talk about sugar a lot. That's a pretty significant one. And we're doing it every day. But it doesn't stay inside of our body. These breast implants, they stay inside of our body and they're filled with 38 different chemicals, toxins, polymers, adhesives, heavy metals. And a lot of them are what's called xenoestrogen. So they mimic estrogen inside of our body. What that's causing is a lot of estrogen dominant related symptoms inside of our bodies, which is exactly what happened to me. I had a lot of inflammation. My lymph. Lymph is really important to talk about. We're going to go on a cleanse or try to lose weight or reduce inflammation or pain. My lymph nodes were swollen on my thyroid. I had Hashimoto's thyroiditis which I self diagnosed. I had swollen lymph nodes around my legs, around my abdomen, underneath my armpits. I was in Bali and I had a golf ball sized lymphatic congestion ball that was very painful under my armpit. Made it difficult to dive with manta rays because I'm adventurous. It really started to impair my adventure lifestyle. My face was so puffy that no matter what I tried with cleansing protocols, no matter what I was trying with my gut feeling protocols, it still wasn't working. Then I started to google some things because I had a friend send me an article that she wrote that's now been shared over 150,000 times on breast implant illness. And I didn't want to look. I was like, no, I love my breast implants, are you kidding me?
And had you gone and gone to doctors, looked at diagnosis, et cetera and no one could figure it out?
No. And you said colonoscopy. I had two of them around that time because I had the chads itching around my eyes and I was itching like hive like swelling itching. I couldn't sleep. I was having major issues. There was points where I just thought like, is this going to be the end of my life? And they couldn't find anything in my colonoscopy and I had been two of them. They said everything looks fine, just a little bit of inflammation. So I did that. I did two rounds of prednisone, which is one of the most toxic drugs that there are. After that my hair started falling out. After that I started aging underneath my eyes. So I was like, what's causing me to aging? Is it all these medications that I'm taking or is it the breast implants or something else? I was still on a mission and not convinced that my breast implants but then when I read that article, this seed had been planted. And then I got to a point where nothing had been working. And I have all the biohacks you can imagine at home. The infrared sauna. I was doing hyperbaric oxygen therapy. I was doing the most advanced things that I could my body. But I knew something still wasn't right. Then when I ran some of the labs, I had seen that my immune system was virtually non existent. It was operating at about 2 to 3% of my full potential. And we run some pretty advanced diagnostic labs. My hormones were tanked. I had severe estrogen dominance. I had pretty much no cortisol and no melatonin, so no hormones that could put fires outside of my body and reduce the pain. I was feeling pain all over my body. Chiropractor visits were not helping. My ribs were always popping out of place. And at that point I tried everything and I said, okay, uncle, I'm willing to explore this. The reason I was willing to explore taking them out was because I started seeing pictures of beautiful breasts that were reconstructed from women's body fat and placed where their breast implants were before. And they looked beautiful. And I said, wait a minute, I'm open to that.
Okay, so you had them taken out and how quickly were you? Did you notice a shift? Hmm.
Well, I was drugged up for about 24 hours. Not then, not then, but within about two days, I started to see this glow come back in my eyes. And there's a lot of pictures that circulate around the Internet. It's like this before and after. It's like within one week, this is the new and improved person. And all of their symptoms go away. And that's just not true.
Yeah, well, you would still have toxins in your body from it, I would assume, and inflammation and all the issues. Right?
Yeah, nailed it. And it takes the source is out.
But you've got the residuals. Yeah.
It's estimated that it's difficult to say with every woman because we're all different. Do these things stay inside the area where our body actually creates a shell? Every woman creates what's called a capsule around the breast implants because the body goes, oh, this is non self. We want to protect it. So it creates a capsule around it. That capsule is made of calcium. And what they're finding is that a lot of times in between that capsul and the breast implant, there are trapped bacteria, anaerobic bacteria that can survive. That's affecting a lot of women. It's causing a lot of cystic Acne and acne. And they're doing the pathology reports, which I did, of course, I highly recommend if women are going to have their breast implants removed, to do a pathology report, test for cancer, especially vialcl get all of that done, especially if your insurance covers it. And that is something that you can have your insurance cover the explant a couple different conditions. And that's kind of stuff I put in my book. But the question really is, and what they're still trying to prove in science, and it's really difficult because every single person is different. Their genetic potential to detoxify is different. How much toxic burn they had even before they were birthed in this body is different because their mom could have had a lot of lead in their body. And that takes a long time to clear from the body. We get dumped into over 200 chemicals by the time we're born. Now we have this big toxic burden with breast implants. What they're finding, and there was a big study done on this, is that they found that the silicone material, whether or not it was. And this was done on silicone breast implants. Right. So I get the question of what about saline? But this is silicone. It migrated out of the breast capsule for 21% of the women, even though most women were unaware that it happened and didn't have any symptoms. And what I've been finding, just from my own clinical experience with my clients and is that we've been finding silicone toxicity and silicone sensitivity. So then if they can.
And now is that something you can test for?
You know, that was one of the things that was on the market. And that's when they really started finding a lot of women sensitive for silicone.
You could do a test on silicone sensitivity. Is there a way to do that, like a blood test, kind of like we do with food sensitivities?
Yeah. And if you went in to ask your general practitioner, that's not something that.
They would say, no, we'll put a resource in there. So if you can give us the resources. I imagine a lot of this stuff is in your Overcoming Breast Implant Illness book. And I like that analogy. I always look at toxic burden. It's so critical to realize, okay, we've got our genetics. I think most people don't even think that when you give birth to a baby, that that baby actually you've offloaded toxins. You can offload toxins in your breast milk, toxin cross the placental barrier. So it's like. So you've got that Issue why it's so important to detox pre getting pregnant. And then you've got like all the ones you get bombarded with. And it sounds like this could just be that piece that for someone who's a poor detoxifier, has a lot of toxic burden already. It could just be. It just overflows the pet, you know?
Yes, yes. Can I say something about that, jj? Because everybody is. I wouldn't say everybody, but most people who have been on a journey of trying to overcome health issues have heard of the mthfr snp. That is a potential enzyme SNP that you have on your genetic potential to detoxify. And so a lot of people are led to believe even your GP can run that, do you have an MTHFR or snp? And a lot of people are led to believe that if you have that then you're screwed. You can't detox well and it's just not.
Well, then we have like what, 40% of the population who's screwed. It's like, yes, you know, come on.
Yeah, exactly. So it's like, well, 40% of you are going to just accumulate a ton of toxins and you're screwed. Nothing you can do. But of course, epigenetics, we now know that taking methylfolate and avoiding certain toxins and for people that have that snp, and I am double homozygous, so I got one for my mom and one for my dad. So technically I'm like 70% impaired.
Yeah.
So I think that's something that in the future surgeons and anybody listening who's considering breast implants or who have them and are having problems should just really ask that question. Do I have these kinds of genetics that code for an impaired ability to detox?
I actually have a girlfriend who is coming out of breast cancer and is having reconstruction and she did a lot of it from fat, but she also is having implants. And before the doctor put the implants in, he did a genetic study on her to see if she was a candidate. Which I was like, oh my gosh, that is so cool that he is doing that. Okay, now he went back to you. I'm sorry, I did a little interrupt.
No, it's all good. I love these stories because I believe that that is that kind of forward thinking. We see the surfers so important. It's so important his genetics aren't destiny. I mean, it said that it's anywhere between 5 to 25% of the big picture, but we can overcome that with epigenetics in our Lifestyle and turning off the bad genes. And on the good ones, I definitely was probably not a good candidate for it because I had double homozygous. I wasn't really good at methylating estrogen, harmful estrogens and breast implants have toxins that if they're leaking through, are xenoestrogenic. So that could have been a part of my big picture and my estrogen dominance load as well. There's a lot of different considerations that if someone were to get breast implants or have them, women who have eating disorders or who have mental disorders, depression, suicide, these things are. What we're seeing is a lot of women having autoimmune disease from it too. So if you have a predisposition to autoimmune disease, these are factors that I absolutely believe that before someone puts them in or is considering. What's the big picture here? My total toxic burden is this adding to it. And what we're seeing on the other side of it is a lot of lupus. And after a woman gets a mammogram as an example, that's when we're seeing a lot of incidents of rupture. And then that's when the implant starts to move. The material moves throughout the body and it causes a lot of problems.
So let's talk about symptoms. What are some of the most common symptoms for someone with breast implant illness?
Yeah, some of the ones that I stated earlier are some of the more common ones where we start to wonder what's going on. Like my hormones, there's gotta be something going on with my hormones. And we go to a doctor and get a blood test and it's like, well, everything looks fine. They're like, well, I don't really feel fine. So that's kind of the.
Sounds like a lot of like the classic signs of toxicity are just, you know, the fatigue, hormone disruption, inflammation, rashes. I mean, it sounds like a lot of the common stuff that are, you know, toxic burden related issues.
Yeah, yeah. Because these toxins block the estrogen, the receptor sites on where minerals and hormones and the good stuff would get in. So they block it. And so when we do the real deep dive detox and do it customized to each person, then we're starting to actually absorb nutrients again and we can make our own energy in our cells. So what we have is a lot of people, myself included, insomnia, which would be a hormonal issue, or just having issues falling asleep, just not feeling rested when they wake up in the morning. Estrogen dominance, like symptoms like PMS and maybe even pcos too, which is a different type of situation, but a lot of different sensitivities, be it chemical sensitivities or food sensitivities or your husband's sensitivities.
People or work sensitivities, cranky sensitivities. But it is what I saw in the years of working with food intolerances that the majority of people would have a few things that they'd respond to. Maybe dairy and eggs are the most common ones. Ones, soy, corn and peanuts. Next ones. But then you'd see those people that just were reactive and those reactive people. I always hate to make generalizations, but the majority of them, I started to really look and I go, wow, they just had. They were not good detoxifiers, and they had just had this elevated toxic burden. And you just started to see them being super reactive, you know, just like they're super reactors. They just. Ugh. And I used to watch for it going, all right, do you sweat? Do you sweat? Well, when you work out, do you eliminate? Well, are you. You know, it's like, you know, they are the ones who just. They don't sweat. They don't. They never get too hot. Like, all of a sudden you're going, oh, right, yeah, a lot of that.
Thyroid condition.
Yeah. So it's. It sounds like, you know, that really what breast implant illness is is just a toxic burden overload caused by breast implants. And, and from what you've said, you kind of started saying it. I don't know if we mentioned it, like, what are some of the different chemicals that are in breast implants? And are these in all breast implants or just specifically silicone ones? What are some of these things in there that should. That are problematic?
Yeah, these are the ones that. This one specifically, there's 38 toxins in breast implants. And I can provide a link below so you guys can read more about it if you want. But there are things like methyl ethyl ketones, which is a neurotoxin. There's many things like the acetone, which is the same thing that's used in nail polish remover. There's heavy metals, too, and carcinogens. Of course, we know that there's silicone in there, but a lot of women are developing antibodies to silicone. We're seeing this in lab tests as well, which sucks, because if you're trying to age gracefully and our body's attacking our own collagen because of silicone possibly moving around, then we're not able to put ourselves back Together with collagen. So we're seeing that in labs and we're actually seeing that in studies, which. Well, there's things like lead, lead based soldiers, there's platinum. We're seeing that some women have high levels of tin when we're doing heavy metal testing. So heavy metals are a very serious concern. And of course, the majority of it is silicone. It's that gel inside of it. And a lot of it is not as much like the other things are like less than 2% when we're considering the big picture. But there are things like the carcinogens are the big issues. But then when you really think about this too, jj, night shift workers, That's a carcinogen. That's classified today as a carcinogen. Not getting enough sleep. And that is another common side effect of women that have breast implants. These things are if they leak, if they bleed, if they rupture, then we have a bigger serious case because they may be moving around throughout the body and they're finding these materials, the cysts and the tumors, and some women that have had cancers or lymph issues, lymph congestion around the breast. And.
So someone looking at all this stuff, and I know your book walks through a lot of this first step. First step. If someone's wondering if this is something going on for them, would be what first step?
I would, absolutely. As far as if they're like, do I have breast implants? Do I have breast implant illness?
Yes. Yeah, I'm sure they know if they have breast implants. One would hope so. Assuming they know that piece.
Are you still here?
Yes, I do. No wonder my butt got so big. They moved. Okay, so. So we. So they know. They do. And they're in their capsules. What would be the first step? Do they go get an mri? Do they just. Do they go get any of these lab tests?
What would. Where would.
What would step one be? Is there stuff they should do if they're going to explant, which is the opposite of implant, obviously, before they have the surgery to prepare? Like what. What do they do?
Yeah. Yeah, good question. So, of course my book will be coming out soon, so they could always grab my book.
The book will be there when this podcast goes live. That book will be there. And we will have all of this, by the way, @jjvirgin.com VII because again, whether you have them, whether it's something you're going to look into for the future, for some kind of reconstruction, you've got a friend. This is really important. Information to be aware of and to share. And then also just within this is understanding. I think the bigger, the bigger thing too, beyond just breast implant illness is we've got a crisis of toxicity. This is just, I mean this is just a piece of that iceberg. If we didn't have any toxins, this one piece of it may not push someone over the edge, but the fact that there's so much toxicity going on, it's really important to understand because this is just one more thing pushing us over the edge. So someone, someone going, all right, so I've got implants. What should I do first? What would you say?
Yeah, so they can grab a copy of my book on your link or they can just start looking at I've got a blog. So they can go in there and find a lot of support, join my Facebook group.
Cool. We'll link all of this again@thatjjvirgin.com BII you are not alone is the important thing.
Oh, big time. There are hundreds of illness, thousands of women that are going through this. But I'm also trying to be the voice of reason as well. Just like you keep saying jj, that it's not just our breast implants. The other thing that is important, and I have to share too is that I was a really smart, what I thought gluten free cookie. The week that I got my breast implants put in, which was 10 years ago, I thought it'd be a great idea to remove all of my mercury silver fillings at one time.
Wow. Let's just dump toxic loads everywhere.
Let's just make it rain. Toxic.
Yeah, I'm glad. I mean here's the. Yeah, it's like, I think the biggest thing you're really proud of providing awareness for is toxins are all around us and inside of us and what do we need to do? And it's not going to kill you overnight. So proceed, get the information, proceed carefully. I do want to solve like talk through a couple things because I would imagine, you know, just like you said, you don't just pull these out and everything's fine because everything didn't like if this was an issue for you and you do have the toxic burden of it, you've got to then go through an active detoxification process afterwards otherwise you're going to get, you're not going to get the full effect. So what do you do for people when they are like before they get ready to explant and then afterwards I'm assuming you've got a process, you take them through or if they don't want to do it at all, but they know they need to detox.
Right? Right. Good question. So I want to answer your first question, which is like, what do I do before, too? So if you suspect that you may have stress implant illness, like I said, the links that JJ just provided. First step, because you'll start to see you're not alone. And what are other people doing. I would be very, very mindful to not get caught up in the hype, because the worst that I felt in my journey was when I was googling all of the symptoms and the pictures and looked at all the other women who were suffering, and I was like, I'm going to die.
It's my condition we have. I remember when my son first got his traumatic brain injury, and I'm like, all right. You start to look, and you're like, oh, my go. You know, it's like. It's like, all I needed to know is I had a little teeny bit of hope. Even if less than 0.1%, I was fine, we could do it. And that's the important thing here, is that, you know, this. This is something that you can totally recover from, and you'll be fine. Proceed. You know, proceed. Don't freak. Okay.
Yes, yes. So definitely don't freak. And have a good support structure around you that is going to support you on this journey, because it does take some time. So the first step will be to find a doctor that knows how to do an en bloc or a total capsulectomy, which is to safely remove the breast implant and the capsule around it. And if it has bled or ruptured or leaked anywhere, they can also heal up a lot of that toxicity and then put you back together properly, because they remove a part of our chest tissue, our pectoral muscles, so they have to put all of those back together again and then know what to look for. So that's really important. Someone that believes that BII is a possibility.
Okay. Are there specific doct for that? Because I would imagine that's probably a very specialized doc at this point.
Yeah, because you don't just want to go back to the surgeon that implanted. A lot of times what's happening is we're seeing that women are just simply going into the back of that doctor and they're removing the implants, but they're not removing the capsule. And that's kind of akin to looking at a dead part in your body that has infection on it. So it's important to clean the whole thing out. And sometimes you can get that done and approved by insurance. I fought for it, and I saved $5,000 because there's some women, they're paying for it. It's out of pocket. But I wanted to make an impression, and I wanted to learn the formula so I could teach other women the same. Is that in your book? Yeah, it's in my book. It's definitely in my book. The thing I've learned from this, too, jj, is that a large percentage of women are not standing up for themselves. They're just like, okay, well, whatever, I got to pay, it's fine. But this really is like, we're learning to be the warrior of our own temple, the doctor of our own body, the healer of our own soul. So it's a very beautiful journey. On the other side of this, I found a love for myself and respect my body I never had. And so you work with a doctor, get it done the right way. Make sure that your body going into it, the seven food sensitivities. Read JJ's book on that. Just really clean your diet up, get some healthy water, get good quality sleep, make sure that your body is really well prepared for the surgery. Because it's a long surgery if you do it the way I did it, which I'll explain next to go in to have the surgery done afterwards. I made sure that I did all the research on the best way to detox and the kinds of things we need to detox. There's lots of different things I talked about when you get clear from the body, really taking into consideration the lymph and loving on the lymph, the liver, their whole body. A lot of these toxins end up in the brain where we don't even know and we don't even know if they were there before. So it's just like, let's just reset the whole thing. I didn't even know I had 15 pounds to lose, but I lost 15 pounds in six weeks after I had mine removed. I went from 150 to 135, and I went, huh? I haven't been this weight since high school, and breast implants only weigh, like, a pound each. So it just goes to show how.
Much of that was creating an inflammatory response. So. And I like your idea of, okay, so I'm gonna use this as a way to really look at everything and go, all right, time to do a massive detoxification cleanse and really support my body, which, you know, I had to have a surgery last December for my hip after a dog attack. And I always use those times. I do massive prep and then I make sure I'm detoxifying all the stuff they had to use. Supporting my gut, getting through it. Right. I just helped another friend through it. And so this, like, let's just reframe this whole process of this is just another part of your health journey that's going to help you get to the next piece of your healthiest self. And. And, yeah, come from a place of, like, loving your body for what it is and can do. So. Important piece, too. Now we have your book. We'll put that@jjvirgin.com VII I also have that. You have a great video that you're going to be giving everyone as well. And it is. Discover how to. It's quite long here. Discover how to decode your symptoms. It's a masterclass video, by the way. Discover how to decode your symptoms and get to the root cause of hormone imbalances, autoimmune conditions, symptoms. Chaos for good. Yes, yes.
That's it.
Cool.
And that's what I went through.
All right. Awesome.
Is there enough time to share about fat transfer and what I'm saying?
And I will tell you that I just had someone go through and do this and took three different surgeries to do. So I don't know if that's typical or if.
Did they have breast cancer?
Yes.
Okay. And she had a mastectomy probably, I'm guessing. Yeah, yeah. So the solutions are different if you've had a mastectomy and then breast implants and want them out and then want to go natural with fat transfer. So it absolutely would be. If you have had a mastectomy, then it's like a three to maybe five surgery process and it could take one to two years. And it's not going to be cheap. That's all volunteer expenses. Could be like 50 grand to get all of that done.
It shouldn't be for a mastectomy. That should, in my humble opinion.
Yeah, I agree. I totally agree. So what I did, and I will give you advice on what I wouldn't do again. And I did a lot of research on this myself, and I was about 18, 19% body fat when I went into this, and I'm 15, so I lost a lot of body fat, too, because toxins are stored in fat. Right. So if you want a good weight loss plant, consider this.
Well, then once you get rid of the toxins, you can burn fat better and your hormones work better. So it's a double Benny.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Everything starts to work Better. I feel like my soul and my third eye, like me thinking started, everything started working better. So what I would say to women who are considering rebuilding their breasts is that there's a couple different options. Sometimes if you're working with a kind of doctor that's not ex plant specific, they might want to talk you into smaller implants. And I've seen this happen a lot too. But if you want this thing to be all cleaned up, you have two options. You can have them, actually three options. You can have them removed and that's it, and nothing else. They remove the capsule, they clean off the area, they put you back together. For smaller breast implants, that may work. But for larger breast implants, I had 475cc, which were about over 1 pound each. And what that does over 10 years is they start to sag. You have downward facing areolas. People go, well, can I get a lift? Yes, you can do that. So that's your second option, is you can have them removed and then you can have a lift performed. You go back to about the same level of tissue that you had before. You don't lose tissue during the surgery, even though you may have heard that somewhere else you might lose a little bit. But a lift, in hindsight, that's all I would have done because I was only 18, 19% body fat. I didn't have much in that one surgery, which took about eight hours. I did have fat liposuct from my waistline in my inner thighs and my lower belly. I didn't have that much to remove, but I thought, let's see what happens. Cost me about five grand to do that part. Five grand for the lift. And I noticed when I looked down, I was like, wow, these are great the first month, but then they start to settle in. Fat gets reabsorbed. And some doctors will say, oh, reabsorbed. If I do this properly. And some people say, no. 50% of it goes, I probably lost over 50%. Would I have done the liposuction and fat transfer process again? No, because I didn't have a lot of fat going into it. What I would have done is I would have just had them removed, done a lift, and then just waited six months and seen how my body fared from there. Because most times you'll lose the fat from the other areas anyway because the toxins are in the fat.
Yeah, it's interesting. I've done some stem cells for various joints and I had to remove one ounce of fat. One ounce, okay, one ounce of fat. I'm like, okay. You know, in office procedure, I actually Facebook Live this because I'm ridiculous. And so I'm doing this and that. One ounce of fat. One ounce. I still. It was three weeks, I was bruised three weeks. I still noticed the little. And I had a plastic surgeon do it because. And it's still. I can see where it was, even though he did. And I'm like going, who? This is the worst thing ever. Like, oh, my gosh. So, yeah, it would be very hard for me to ever want to do anything that would, you know. And I know my girlfriend, she actually had to gain weight to get the fat to lose to put on. So, yeah, that would not be very well.
That's a question I had too. Yeah, it totally. It totally hurts.
It doesn't make you look right afterwards. It's weird. So, yeah, yikes. I always have felt like, first of all, liposuction is one of the most brutal things I've ever seen. But it seems, and I know there's way different options. I'll have to get our buddy Tony Yoon on to talk about some of the different things like freezing. But I think that's the last case when you're really. When your body's really healthy because you have to be healthy to lose weight. You don't lose weight to get healthy, as we know. And you're where you are. If there's some weird thing, I always think there's a weird thing somewhere, like, you know, like just, you just have a saddlebaggy thing or a little pooch or something, then you know, it's something to look at. But most people, it's just not the issue. All right, we digress. I went off track, but there you go. Thank you for sharing that piece again. You'll be able to get the masterclass. I'll link to the book a lot of the show notes, the tests, etc. @jjvirgin.com VII I super appreciate you taking time today and sharing your story too, because that requires a lot of bravery to go through and go, hey, this is it. And I also really appreciate the way you're talking about this and helping people not get freaked out about this because this is a topic that could get go crazy fast and it really needs to be approached with sanity and science.
Yes. And sympathy.
Yes. Sanity signs and sympathy. There's the trifecta of approach. Now, after the break, I'm going to come back. I'm going to give you some marching orders for how best to use this in practice information. So stay with me.
