Using Red Light Therapy to Get Healthy with Scott Nelson
15 Dec 2025 · 39 min
Scott Nelson, co-founder of Joovv, explains how red and near-infrared light therapy works at the mitochondrial level to boost ATP production. The treatment takes 8-10 minutes per area, done 3-6 inches from the skin, and research shows benefits for muscle recovery, collagen production, inflammation, and testosterone.

Hey, it's J.J. here. You know, I've been talking about environmental toxins forever, and laundry detergent is a sneaky one. A lot of them contain harsh chemicals like dyes, preservatives, and even UV brighteners. Those brighteners don't actually clean anything. They just coat fabric so your eyes think things look whiter or brighter. That's more chemicals I don't want on my family's sheets or skin. And if you've got sensitive skin or allergies around the house, this can be a big problem. That's what got my attention about Earth Breeze. It looks like a dryer sheet, but it's actually laundry detergent. You toss one in the washer and that's it. No pouring, no mess, and no heavy plastic jug. Their packaging is lightweight cardboard, which helps reduce plastic waste. And if you choose the fragrance free option, it's gentle, hypoallergenic, non irritating and non sensitizing. I really like how simple it is and how fresh and clean everything comes out without those unnecessary chemicals. Love Whoa, whoa, whoa. This show is about you, not about me. I want to help you find practical, real world ways to dial in your health and mindset so you can finally lose that weight and feel strong and energized. Stop settling for less than your personal best. It's time to find out how to look and feel better than ever. And I'll be right here with you the whole way. I love to find cool new stuff that actually works and makes a major difference. And I got that for you today. So, you know, one of the things that I'm so fortunate about is I know really smart people. And so I had to have a hip surgery because of a dog, a dog chasing accident where I had a big dog going after my little dog. And anyway, my little dog is fine. I was not, because I grabbed her up into my arms and proceeded to trip over a row of trash cans down a hill, you know, with this big mean dog bearing his teeth chasing us. But bottom line is I'm worrying mama, not just to my kids, also to my dog. But I ended up with a very messed up hip, torn hams. And I was talking to my buddy, Dr. Joe Mercola about that and he goes, oh my gosh, have you tried red light therapy? Let me hook you up with my buddies at joovv and I'm like, awesome. And they actually came to the house, brought a unit, and it helped me heal from the surgery. And then I found out all these other things about it. And that's what I'm gonna be sharing with you today, how red light therapy can, like help you create unlimited health naturally. And like, who the heck doesn't want that? You know, we're all looking at ways to d to get more collagen and bam. What you're going to hear today. You're like, how did I not know about that sooner? Well I'm making sure you know about it today. And so I've got Scott Nelson, who is the co founder of joovv coming on with me today. JOOVV is the first company to develop a module full body light therapy device. Now I was talking to Scott, I'm like how the heck did you get in this? And he'll share some of that. But he has been in the medical device world for years and years and years. He also is the host of medsider Radio, a top ranked medical device podcast. So this is his world he geeks out in. Now I want to geek out on something else and it's Blue Eye Beauty is what I'm geeking out on here. I got a five star review by Blue Eye Beauty said I found JJ Virgin about two and a half years ago. I don't recall how her name came into my life, but I wish I'd found her sooner. I'm in nursery school. Nursery school, not nursery school. She's in nursing school. But I was like, boy we're starting young. I'm in nursing School graduating May 3, 2019 and it kills me to sit and listen to what they are trying to get us to absorb and accept as the way of life, wellness and health. I've been on an alternative med health junkie for about eight years and I'm wanting to help and educate those that are in another that there is another option. JJ and her crew have helped me keep my sanity on my hour long drives to and from school. The podcasts are priceless and are packed with so much info that a replay occurs often in my car. Please don't stop making these these cast. Thank you JJ and your team and the guests. There's so much I love about this review I can't even begin. First off, I love that you are in nursing school because I've been. First off I love nurses. Oh my gosh, nurses when Grant was in the hospital were the most like they were everything shout out to ISIS tello over at at Harbor UCLA who just was a lifesaver and all the amazing nurses over at Children's Hospital and Harbor ucla. But I also found that man I was like, you guys got to take better care of yourself so that you can take better care of everybody. I felt like they had the longest hours, worst diet, blah blah blah. So I'm glad you are out there to make a revolution. I would love the day that comes where this isn't considered to be alternative. This is considered to be the first step. So what I'm going to share with you today. Today is, of course, one of those things that I think should just be one of those first steps, which I'm super excited to share with you. But I want to do that shout out. We love those reviews. Keep them coming. Thank you so much for that blue eye beauty. I wish you all the best and congratulations because you're going to be graduating soon. Way to go on that. And if you haven't left a review yet, oh, I'd love to shout you out, too. So go on over to itunes and just, you know, be honest. Whatever you think. I had someone who was like, jj, stop cutting vegetables while you're doing a podcast. I'm like, I, I don't know how I'd cut vegetable. I'm stuck in a podcast studio. But I will try to make less noise. I hear you. Scott Nelson, welcome to the show. I'm super excited to be talking to.
You today and too, looking, really looking forward to the conversation. Jj, it's great to be on the show.
We have not talked about this on this show, and I feel like I've been, like, secretive and sneaky because here I have been out there using your red light therapy to heal from my surgery. And, like, now it's time to pull back the kimono man and we'll share with everybody. But before we get into red light specifically, you know, let's talk light in general, because I, I just was reading a really interesting article that was like, if everyone would just get up in the morning and open their blinds and then go outside and get in the light, you know, why is this important?
Yeah, it sounds so basic, but in the world we live in today, it's honestly quite hard to do to get enough natural light exposure. In fact, there's an interesting, pretty well documented statistic that Americans now spend 93% of our time indoors under artificial light, which is drastically different than our ancestors lived even 150 years ago. So our biological systems, you know, we're sort of tasking, or ask, I should say asking our biological systems to adapt to a significantly different sort of lifestyle when it comes to light, which is. Which is a hard thing to do. And, you know, because of. Because we spend so much time sort of indoors under artificial light, that leads to a lot of, you know, negative health consequences that often are underappreciated.
How did you get into all of this stuff?
It's definitely an interesting, an Interesting story. It's kind of a clutch, classic startup story in the sense that I was knee deep in my professional career within traditional med tech. So I spent the better part of 15 years in the traditional medical device industry with companies like Medtronic and Covidian. And I know you and I have talked about that in relation to your husband's work, but yeah, dealing with products like stents and intravascular balloons and atherectomy catheters and kind of that kind of gear. So vastly different than light therapy products. But circle back to kind of early 2015. And my sister in law, we were living in Minneapolis at the time. I think this was in the dearth of winter in the upper Midwest. And she had purchased, I'm using air quotes here, a red light therapy package from a local spa in Minneapolis went consistently over the better part of eight to 10 weeks, we're talking like four to five times a week to a spa. Saw really good benefits when it comes to skin health. So reduced eczema that she had always struggled with, reduced stretch marks from multiple pregnancies, those kind of conditions. Really loved the therapy, especially during the wintertime when there's not a lot of light exposure in the Midwest. But it was just inconvenient to go that often to a spa, you know, four or five times a week. Very inconvenient from a scheduling standpoint. But then it's not overly budget friendly either. And so she tasked or engineered husband Justin to try to build something that they could use at home where the entire family could benefit. And that sort of started us down the path. We had no intention of starting a company around this. And so Justin played around with some prototypes and actually built a few kind of very, very rough prototypes. And then we kind of started getting together periodically as a group, just we were family of course, but then really the meetings were kind of focused on this whole light therapy thing and I kind of got interested because I was super cynical. At first I thought it was very woo woo, sounded very woo woo. But because of my med tech background, I went straight to the published peer reviewed literature and I was quickly blown away by how much published science there is with respect to light therapy. In the world of academia it's referred to as photobiomodulation. In fact, there's over 200 double blind, placebo controlled studies that demonstrate the wide ranging health benefits of red light therapy. So I was blown away. And then we kind of sort of all collectively sort of got, you know, started to dig deeper into this, into this space. And that sort of started, started our journey with Joovv.
So yeah, because it's, it's interesting. It's really not out there yet. I know you're doing your part to get it out there, but then when you start to hear about, you're like, why the heck isn't this everywhere? I mean, why would we be doing some of the things we're doing with prescription medications when light therapy can be more effective? So let's talk about what it is and how it, how it works.
Cool. And I'll start at a high level. Maybe we can go a little bit deeper. But from a, from a macrospective, it's sometimes easy to think of light within the same framework or context of food. So everyone that's listening to the show, I know you've got an educated audience. Everyone's sort of understands how our bodies respond to different macronutrients, right? Carbs, fats, proteins, especially during different parts of the day. Like if you eat a high glycemic carbohydrate in the evening, that's not great, your blood sugar is going to spike, et cetera. That's not everyone understands there's some negative health ramifications there. But light, different types of wavelengths of light is. Our bodies respond in the same sort of fashion. Meaning that as the sun rises and sun sets, our body's circadian rhythm metabolizes different wavelengths of light at different times of the day. And the specific wavelengths of light that we're talking about, red and near infrared light, those wavelengths have been shown to actually help the mitochondria in our cells produce more adenosine triphosphate, or cellular energy. And because of that core mechanism of action, it leads to a whole host of clinically proven benefits, benefits that have been shown demonstrated time and time again in clinical studies. So everything from enhanced skin health to faster muscle recovery to better optimized sleep, enhanced cognitive function, weight loss, even. So it sounds almost like a late night infomercial on qvc. But the difference is all of those benefits are supported by peer reviewed, published science.
Why do you think that it's just not out there yet? Like, when you look at stuff just, you know, like weight loss, one of the toughest things out there, or pain and having this whole opioid epidemic, why, why is this still kind of the best kept secret?
It is. And I, I've spent a little bit of time thinking about that. I don't have a great answer, but this is kind of where my head is at. At least when we're recording this podcast here in kind of early 2019 is that there's, even though this is relatively new therapy, it dates back to the 1960s. And when you look at PubMed research, most of the researchers at the time, at least dating from the mid 20th century, up until the late 20th century, were using low level lasers. So lasers that deliver these same wavelengths of light, but just in a very, very targeted way. And I think that's one of the reasons is the fact that lasers are super hard to, super hard to acquire. They're very, very expensive. Oftentimes you need a technician or a professional that's been trained on how to use that laser correctly. So I think just access to the technology was pretty limited. And I also think there hasn't been, you know, this is somewhat coming from a biased sort of traditional medtech perspective, but there hasn't been a lot of industry that has taken a look at this arena, you know, this arena of photobiomodulation light therapy and been willing to invest in a lot of clinical trials with the purposes of getting insurance coverage and reimbursement. I don't want to go too far into the weeds there, but a lot of traditional western kind of medicine is, that's sort of where a lot of these new therapies start, is a company has to invest money really with the goal of pursuing insurance coverage and reimbursement, unfortunately. And so I think that's one of the reasons why it's not overly well known. But there's without a doubt that's kind of, as I mentioned earlier, dating back to 2015, that's one of the big things that I was blown away by because I was so skeptical and cynical of the therapy. But when you just start to dig into the, dig into the science, there's so much published peer reviewed literature and it's one of the things as a, as a company that we're trying to do, we're committed to trying, trying to raise more awareness for just the, the legitimate science of, of light therapy and the fact that it has such a wide range, it's supported by such a wide ranging degree of health benefits.
This is one of the ones I really want to get out there because once you get used to it and what I've had to do. So, so I've got the unit now in my, in my house in California, which was like, oh no, I moved to Florida. And it's like, how so it's, it's coming in a month. I'm super excited. But now I have the handheld but it's so. It's such an easy thing to do. You just incorporate it into your schedule. Because I've been trying to get it, and when I'm home, I've been. I've been getting it. When I'm back in California, I've been trying to get it in every day just to kind of clock time where I'm in front of it. But let's walk through. Like, what would be. How would someone use this therapeutically? What does it look like? Because they might be going, well, I don't even understand what you're talking about. You know, what are the different options? And I know I'm gonna have all of this in the show notes too. @jjvirgin.com Joovv and that's J O O V V. Did that come from Rejuvenate? Where did joovv come from?
Yeah, yeah. It was a play on Rejuvenate, because in essence, that's what these. These wavelengths of light are doing to our. Ourselves is helping. Helping them rejuvenate. But yeah, in addition to that, it was one of the few short dot coms that were. That was.
So try to find a name nowadays and I'll just share with everybody. So initially, I was getting ready to go do a hip replacement because of a injury I had sustained from a dog chasing my dog. I was talking to Dr. Joe Mercola, and Dr. Joe McCorla is like, oh, my gosh, you got to know about this red light therapy and juve. I'm like, okay. And it's like, if Joe tells me something, I just listen, because that's the smart thing to do. He does all his research. And then I was talking to Ben Greenfield, and Ben's like, oh, yeah, I got it. Like, so I'm like, all right. You know, and then my buddy Dave Asprey, and I'm like, okay, everyone. Like, you guys have just been quiet, not telling anybody about any of this stuff. So then I start, you know, you guys start to tell me about. I. I was doing it initially for my hip, which was so awesome to have you guys bring it over to my house so I could start using it. But then I found that it could help with my thyroid. And then I found out then, of course, you know, like, anti aging skin results. Hello. So I'm like kind of going, who? And then I found out all the athletes that were using it. Of course, I started talking about some of my other friends who were docs. They're like, where is it? Can I. You know, I want it, but you kind of look at this and go, this is the ultimate thing that you would want to use to reduce inflammation to help your mitochondria, which I think I was just with my buddy, Dr. Lisa Kochi last night. We were talking about how, you know, no one's really explained mitochondria, so the public can understand, which I would love to do here. And once you start to really understand that, you go, anything that can help support better mitochondrial function is everything. It's going to have better energy. You're going to have, you know, better way, like everything. If your mitochondria don't work, it's like your engine doesn't work. So I'm using it for helping, you know, rejuvenate my thyroid. I've had massive issue with my thyroid. When my son got hit, I'm trying to see, hey, can this help bring it back? So I need less supplementation. I've been using it to help heal my hip. Now I'm using it on my skin and I'm helping and like, I go kick it at the gym. So that's a great time afterwards for that too. So I'd love to talk first about, let's kind of dive into mitochondria. What are they and how's this helping them? And then I'd love to hear some of the stories that you've seen with people using this and then really, how does it work? Like, what do these units look like? They'll be able to see it when they come to the show notes. But like, how long do you have to use it for, et cetera?
Sure.
Yep, yep. Yeah. And we can start with the first one with it, which is, which is the kind of the topic of mitochondria. And you know, if you hearken back to your, your high school biology classes, these, these, these organelles are often referred to as the, the powerhouses of the cell, like the engine of the cell. And that's really the best way to think about, about mitochondria. It's where cellular energy, or ATP, is made through a series of four stages that are part of cellular respiration and, you know, specific to red and near infrared light. Most of the magic happens during the fourth phase of cellular respiration. That's where, that's where these wavelengths of light actually resonate with hydrogen bonds, helping to release nitric oxide into the, into the circulatory system, freeing up hydrogen and oxygen to be, to be released through the electron transport chain during that fourth phase of cellular respiration. So I don't want to go too deep there. But you're right though, because of the action within the mitochondria. That's what leads to so many different health benefits. And you're right in the sense that it's such a functional, sort of foundational aspect to health overall. Healthy, having healthy mitochondrial function. And you know, red light is such a big. Red and near infrared light is such a big, a big component of that. So. But yeah, but that, that's, that's it. That is the core, because of that core mechanism of action. That's why you see such wide ranging benefits from, like you said, enhanced thyroid health to hair regrowth to faster muscle recovery to increased peak athletic performance, et cetera, et cetera. So pretty, pretty cool from that standpoint. And that, that kind of, I guess segues into, you know, who, who's using this. And you mentioned, you know, some, some pretty, you know, your, your peers, so which are, you know, obviously pretty, pretty influential in the natural health arena. But we also have a lot of professional athletes that are now using red light therapy. Everyone from UFC, you know, UFC fighters like T.J. dillashaw and Anthony Pettis to NFL football players like Keenan Allen. There's actually a whole host of. It's really, it's really gaining popularity within the, within the NFL.
And are they using it for like, healing, inflammation, better performance, better mitochondria? I mean, I started to look at and go, well, like all of the above.
Right, right, yeah, yeah. Where's d. All of the above, you know, but yeah, mainly as a recovery tool.
That makes total sense. So what are some of the things that you've seen now that you guys have been out in the world with this? Like, what are some of the success stories you've seen with this?
Well, I think you touched on something earlier in the conversation where it's like you initially were intrigued by red light therapy in terms of its ability to maybe help recover from your hip surgery. And that's what we see a lot is someone will purchase one of our devices or become interested in red light therapy for a specific thing, and then through consistent usage, notice a lot of other benefits. And we fundamentally think that speaks to a couple things. One is that consistent use of red light therapy leads to a whole host of benefits that we've already discussed, but especially full body light therapy because of the systemic benefits that you get from exposing your entire or most of your skin, which is the largest organ of your body, to these healthy benefits of light. And so that's kind of an interesting thing. That we notice. So a lot of people will maybe purchase our device for, you know, a thyroid condition. But, you know, a couple months down the road, they'll have people commenting on how great their skin is looking. And they, you know, they think, they think they're getting Botox injections. In fact, I think, I'm not sure if, you know, Mike Munsell up in Washington, but I think his. I'm pretty sure this is correct, if my memory serves me, serves me well. But I think his wife, who's I believe is a functional medicine doctor, was. Most of her friends thought she was getting Botox injections because of the impact of red light therapy on her.
What does the red light therapy do for the skin?
It actually helps produce more collagen and elastin. And so you get that full, that traditional kind of full, healthy, glowing look to your skin, especially kind of the full nature. Most people that will pursue things like an injection or Botox for that full look, but you can get those same benefits through natural, you know, exposure to red and near infrared light.
And the cool thing is when you're doing something like Botox or fillers, this is something that wears off. It's not something that as you're doing it, you're getting better and it's building on itself. Right? It's a totally different mechanism.
Yep, you got it. You got it. Completely different mechanism of action. And also, you know, there's. I don't, I don't think there's a whole lot of people that feel good about injecting, you know, injecting sort of, you know, those types of substances in their skin, if you could avoid it. But you're right, you know, you're helping your body produce collagen naturally through these wavelengths of light. So, you know, it's pretty powerful in that regard. So. And, you know, kind of just to kind of finish off that second point, you know, most, you know, I think we've kind of bucketed out our customer base into kind of three different segments. So, you know, a lot of people buy our devices for skin health. You know, they want to. They're just interested in reducing wrinkles and fine lines and age spots and, you know, increase collagen production in their skin, et cetera. There's also kind of a. Another sort of bucket of customers that tend to be a little bit more male centric but are looking for physical performance. So whether it's increased testosterone or increased athletic, you know, talk about that.
Like, I heard that. I'm like, come home, I'm like honey, you're still in the light.
Yeah, it's one of those things that there's no, there's not a device on the market that has an indication from FDA for, you know, testosterone treatments. So it's not been overly well studied. It's something that we actually have an interest in getting a lot more involved with down the road in terms of sponsoring a clinical study for testosterone. But we've had so many anecdotal reports from people that are using our devices that have gotten before and after their blood work done, before and after red light therapy treatments, males specifically that have noticed tremendous increases in their testosterone over the course of, you know, two to three months every, you know, people like Luke Story. I mentioned Mike Mutzel earlier, Ben Greenfield, he's pretty well known for, for that as well. And I, I, you know, speaking of professional athletes, there's a really well known trainer on the PGA Tour that trains a lot of, a lot of guys like Dustin Johnson and Tiger Woods. You know, he, he had reported, he, he got his blood work done, showed this, you know, same, same things when it comes to testosterone production in men. So, so that's kind of a really interesting category. It's the whole kind of physical performance, including testosterone. And then kind of lastly, that third bucket would be joint pain and inflammation, just reducing pain and overall inflammation. So that's kind of largely speaking how kind of the three buckets that most people purchase our devices for.
And then the other part of it is, you know, take us through like what a therapeutic regimen would be using this and just for you to visualize. And again, you'll be able to get all this and see it@jjvirgin.com Joovv J O O V V I just stand in front of this panel and I stand by the panel and then I rotate like a little, you know, rotisserie chicken and do the front, side, backside. That's it.
Our kind of thesis as a company is that we want, we want everyone to have access to full body light therapy. So, so our devices outside of the handheld, the wireless and rechargeable handheld device that you mentioned earlier, JJ Our core devices are modular, so sort of like Lego blocks. You can start with a smaller panel and then connect multiple panels to it over time. And those panels are connected not only physically, but they're also connected electronically. So you can kind of build out a full body system over time. Or of course you could do it all at once up front. So, so it's gotour devices are kind of unique that way. But in terms of a therapeutic dose, it's reallyit's really pretty simple. It's, you know, you're standing or sitting, depending on which device you have. But if you've got one of our bigger full body devices, you're typically standing about 3 to 6 inches from the device for about 8 to 10 minutes per treatment area. So if you want to treat your front, it's about eight to 10 minutes, and if you want to treat your backside, it's about eight to 10 minutes. And most people are kind of multitasking while they're doing that, answering emails, Instagram messages, Facebook messages, et cetera, or just catching up on some podcasts during their juve times. But it's really pretty simple. And we use electrostatic LED lenses that are powered by some pretty strong LED drivers. So the power delivery or the power output, the photon flux is pretty significant. So that's why we're able to keep our treatment time short.
Yes, and that's what's super cool here. Because I think with most of us we're going, all right, you know, I just came back from the chiropractor. An initial visit, hour and a half. But adding that into your life, that's okay, that's an hour and then you have this, that's an hour. Like, oh my gosh. But what's super cool is this is, you know, you roll out of bed, you stand out in front of it. It's, it's eight to ten minutes each side. I'm literally reading stuff on, you know, when I'm doing it and getting through my day and it's like just added it in. It's simple, easy to do. So I am really excited about this. I think this is something that if you are looking to have better skin naturally, we're doing so many things between having, you know, our bone broth shakes and more vitamin C to help with collagen. I mean, this is like, like the trifecta to help with rejuvenating your skin and rejuvenating your body and being able to recover better from the gym. And I mean, it's like I looked at one, okay, this is way more than I realized. And so that's why I wanted to turn everybody onto it. Now we're going to give everybody. You have both a promo gift, a promo code for a pre bonus gift with purchase. But also when you go to jjvirgin.com Joovv you're going to get 15 tips on how to use red light therapy for optimal health. And I know Also, I think on your website you have links to some research, right?
Yeah. Yeah. The Learn page on our website is probably the best place if you want to go kind of deeper into the science. We've got a laundry list of articles that are well sourced. So if you're interested in the science, I definitely recommend checking out that section.
Cool. So we will make sure we have all of this information so you're all hooked up and and again jjvirgin.com Joovv J-O-O V V and Scott, thank you so much for taking time out today and hanging out with us and sharing these amazing hopefully no longer best kept secret.
Thanks for having me on jj. Really enjoy the conversation right now.
After the break I'll be answering listeners questions, so stay with me.

Welcome back. This is the time where I answer a listener's question. So I actually wrote out what I did for my different surgeries. I had to do a knee surgery from a. Like a. An accident from when I was 17. Five knee surgeries after that, that torn ACL. And then, of course, I had my hip. And so I wrote out a whole protocol for what I did. And I get asked a bunch about, like, what do you do to prepare for surgery? But I think it goes bigger than that. It's not just preparing for and recovering from surgery. It's like, what do you do on a daily basis to help with healing, to help reduce inflammation? Because, you know, hey, we're going through life, we're working out, we're, you know, doing silly things. Like, the other day, I was literally reading a text walking down the stairs at a house I didn't know don't do this, and got on the landing, didn't realize there were more stairs because I was reading this text that was of a friend who I thought was the eternal bachelor telling me he was getting married. And I fell down the rest of the stairs, which is really funny, but it wasn't funny because they were marble. And I went down hard, and I'm like, oh, my gosh, you know, did a little ankle sprain. Boo booed my knee up, bruised it. I'm just silly. And smushed a finger. And so I'm just telling you that to say, hey, JJ's clumsy, but, hey, life happens. And, you know, we do silly stuff or we work out too hard or whatever. And so we need things that help us with bone remodeling, with reducing inflammation, with helping with tissue healing. So here's some of the things that I do every day that just help. And of course, that's why I wanted to bring red light therapy into the picture, because, oh, my gosh, what a super cool thing. Like, what a cool thing. Like a way to have your body produce more collagen naturally. Hello. Like, who doesn't want that? So I love vitamin C. I think it's one of the most underlooked vitamins, you know, because it's just kind of not sexy. It's like vitamin C. But here's the thing. Stress depletes vitamin C. It's the number one vitamin used by your adrenal glands. Super important for immune system. But the other big thing it does is collagen synthesis. So make sure you're taking Your vitamin C, depending on what's going on with you. That dose most people do well with is somewhere between 1 and 2 grams a day. Usually more like 2, all the way up to 10 grams a day. And you take it in divided doses throughout the day because it's a water soluble nutrient. So twice a day at least. Kind of think a bare minimum. There is one gram twice a day. But you might want to go up higher. I tend to take it in some different forms like liposomal C and I take it multiple times during the day. So that's one next one. You know, I love, love my, love me some bone broth. I do it as a shake. So I have my JJ virgin all in one shake and I have the Paleo inspired which has the power bone broth. So it's made from these cows from Sweden and these happy cows from Sweden. And basically what we're getting is amino acids, branch chain amino acids are added and then collagen. And what's super important there is this is going to help your body, gives you what you need to make more collagen. So that's the next thing. Now another one, fish oil. You know, I'm a big fan of fish oil. It was one of the things I did to help my son heal from his traumatic brain injury. But on a regular basis it's so key and critical because it can help with bone remodeling and help reduce inflammation. So kind of think a starting dose there is two grams a day and then it just really depends on what you've got going on and what your diet looks like. We try to eat fish over here four times or more a week. And so Generally I do 2 grams of fish oil a day and then I test my omega 3 levels by something called an omega 3 index. So just test them recently and that's something that you can do if you want to just see where you are in terms of your balance of omega 3s and 6s. And then my final thing, and I love this so much, is this, these things called curcumin chews. You will be able to get those on my JJ Virgin store. And they are little 100 milligram curcumins that very, are very bioavailable. And I do anywhere from 200 to 400 milligrams of of curcumin a day. I think curcumin is like one of the most amazing things, great for brain health, but overall inflammation super important. So hope that helps. Again, if you'd like to ask a question a couple different things you can do. Leave a review on itunes. And if you got something you want, you want me to address there, you got a question, you can always put it in there. We read all of those or jump on. When I'm live on Instagram, JJ Virgin or Facebook JJ Virgin Official. That's another easy peasy way to get to track me down. And I always love hanging out there and connecting with you. And that's where I grab a lot of questions too. All right, see you next time. Bye.
