Podcast episode (Ask the Health Expert) hosted by JJ Virgin that mixes sponsored ad-read segments with an expert interview. JJ Virgin promotes multiple sponsors (Earth Breeze, Wayfair, Monarch, Ray-Ban Meta Glasses, Corona) and reads promotional copy (discount offers and product claims). The central editorial segment features Jonathan Levy, an accelerated-learning/memory expert, answering a listener question about the limits of human memory: he cites a theoretical neuroscientist estimate of ~2.2 petabytes, compares it to the NSA Snowden-leak figure of 12 petabytes, and lists world-record memory feats (e.g., 547 digits in one second; 1,170 binary digits in 5 minutes; 187 names/faces in 15 minutes; a deck of cards in under 14 seconds; 130 random words in 5 minutes). The episode also includes voiceovers and a short promo for Anne Bogle's podcast.

Hey, it's J.J. here. You know, I've been talking about environmental toxins forever, and laundry detergent is a sneaky one. A lot of them contain harsh chemicals like dyes, preservatives, and even UV brighteners. Those brighteners don't actually clean anything. They just coat fabric so your eyes think things look whiter or brighter. That's more chemicals I don't want on my family's sheets or skin. And if you've got sensitive skin or allergies around the house, this can be a big problem. That's what got my attention about Earth Breeze. It looks like a dryer sheet, but it's actually laundry detergent. You toss one in the washer and that's it. No pouring, no mess, and no heavy plastic jug. Their packaging is lightweight cardboard, which helps reduce plastic waste. And if you choose the fragrance free option, it's gentle, hypoallergenic, non irritating and non sensitizing. I really like how simple it is and how fresh and clean everything comes out without those unnecessary chemicals. This is such a great question, and I love this question because it really opens up people's imagination as to what is possible and just what they can do. Because I want to preface by saying that anyone and everyone can do these incredible feats of memory. So there is a theoretical limit of what the human brain can memorize. And I've heard it say, I've heard neuroscientists say that it's about 2.2 petabytes. To put that into perspective, when the NSA leak happened, all those different leaks with Edward Snowden, the total amount of Data that the NSA had collected on all of humanity was 12 petabytes. But I often tell people that's not really relevant because how do you measure and what is the storage space of a single memory? So what I like to tell people and share with people is, is what are the world records? What have the everyday people who've trained for years and years been able to do? We know that someone can in one second memorize 547 digits. We've seen people who can memorize binary digits up to 1170 digits in five minutes. There is a record right now for 187 names and faces in 15 minutes, a deck of cards in under 14 seconds, and 130 random words in just five minutes. So the short answer is, we don't really know. And every year those limits get pushed back more and more and more. What it ultimately comes down to is, are you using your memory in the right way? Are you trained to use your memory in the same way that an athlete is trained to use their body?
