Counting calories is outdated and ineffective for lasting fat loss. Now here's the reality: calories count. However, where they count— come from counts even more. So while we do need to create a mild caloric deficit in order to lose body fat, we can do that by increasing our protein, pushing out some of the fat, and adding in more non-exercise activity thermogenesis. So while I want you to pay attention to those calories, really pay attention to the quality of the calories because that's going to make the big difference.
