In this episode of the AI Daily Brief, the host walks listeners through the findings of the aidB Intel January AI Usage Pulse Survey, which collected responses from 583 highly engaged listeners of the show. The survey reveals that AI usage is now ubiquitous (97.6% daily users) and increasingly intensive, with many users spending over 10 hours per week on AI tools. Respondents employ an average of 3.5 different models, showing a poly‑model “portfolio” approach. While ChatGPT remains the most widely used model (87% used in the past month), Claude emerges as the primary model for the largest share of users (45.8%). Claude primary users are heavier, more agentic, and report higher value gains than ChatGPT primary users. The benefits landscape has shifted: time‑savings, once the dominant benefit, now ranks third, overtaken by increased output (38%) and new capabilities (22%). Agentic AI usage has crossed a threshold, with 37.6% of respondents reporting agentic interactions, especially among heavy users and leaders. Vibe‑coding tools have gone mainstream, with 69% of respondents using them, and adoption spreads beyond engineers to executives, product, operations, and sales roles. Momentum is strong—71% increased usage month‑over‑month and 83% reported higher value, creating a “value premium.” The main barriers to deeper adoption are lack of time to learn (top), skills gaps, policy restrictions, and tool access. Organizational stance on AI (encouraging vs restrictive) correlates with usage intensity. The host extrapolates these trends to broader enterprise implications: ROI measurement must move beyond time‑savings, org charts and hiring will evolve as non‑engineers become builders, procurement and tooling strategies must accommodate multimodal portfolios, and governance, data access, and training become priority areas. The episode concludes with a preview of the upcoming February survey and a call to action for listeners.
