A short bio video of Joe Polish in which he recounts starting as a "dead broke" carpet cleaner and learning direct-response marketing to survive and build a business. He teaches carpet and upholstery cleaners ethical marketing techniques (avoiding bait-and-switch, unrealistic low-price coupons) and emphasizes positioning. The transcript includes multiple testimonials praising his networking, marketing skills, and ability to convene large, smart audiences (speaker notes reference ~1,200 people and long lines).

It's just impossible for somebody to go in somebody's home and clean carpets for $5.95 a room or $15.95 a room. Unless they're just doing a very lousy job. You will never see a coupon in any way, shape or form with prices that low from a professional carpet cleaner.
Yes.
I teach carpet cleaners how to market and advertise ethically without having to rely on bait and switch techniques in order to get business.
Started out as a dead broke carpet cleaner. Out of desperation, I learned marketing because I needed to eat, I needed to survive. I learned how to use direct response. I turned this small carpet clean realm, started selling the same strategies to other carpet and upholstery cleaners on how to position yourself, because everything is really about positioning.
The only reason why I'm recording this video instead of Joe is because he just got off stage and I actually wanted to show you guys the line. There's about 1200 people here, and I honestly think that there's probably 500 people in line right now, if not more. This is absolutely incredible.
Probably best business networker that I know. Very, very smart marketer, one of the smartest marketers living, and definitely the combination smartest and best connected market.
I don't want to be in a room where I'm the smartest person in the room. I just want to be in a room where everyone's getting smarter. And so I really focus putting together rooms where everyone in the room is getting smarter and it's filled with already smart people. Because to me, that's the ultimate place to have discussions. You know, you have discussions with right people, amazing things happen.
Yeah.
Joe has a wonderful knack of pulling people together, throwing them in a pot and stirring them up. You know, I've had the privilege of meeting a lot of the people he's thrown in that pot. I've had the privilege of doing wonderful things with those people. Some of them become great friends as a result. So just like to salute Joe and say thanks very much.
