John Pierre argues that treating 80% completion as done cuts delivery time from ten hours to four, since the final 20% consumes disproportionate effort for minimal client value. Launch quickly with core work finished, then iterate based on real feedback instead of chasing perfection.

We made a conscious decision to not aim for 100% as a company or as individuals, that 80% would be the benchmark, that 80% of anything would be our new 100%, that 80% was good enough. And by doing that, we reduced the time that it takes to get something from 10 hours down to 4, because that 20% takes so much effort. The result to the client is negligible. What you should be doing is focus on the bulk, launch as hard and as fast as you can, and let the clients tell you what is and isn't working in real time. You don't need to be sitting there waiting, trying to guess, when you could be going to market, testing live, and getting real feedback.
