John Rodrigues tested Claude Opus 5 for building an app interaction prototype and found it comparable to pricier models while costing half as much. The output was solid from the start, and iterating reduced typical AI artifacts. The workflow was dramatically faster than before.

DistroPic launched their latest model, Claude Opus 5, which is equally good as Fable, one of their best models, and is half the price. So I believe it's definitely a lot of pressure from the competitors who like Kine K3 and launching good capable models for reasonable cost and price. So at Human AI Studio, we do design system, prototyping, and product design and stuff like that. And so I thought to give it a try and created this app interaction. Now for the first shot, it gave pretty good result, but it's still not there to that 20%, but I think AI slop problems is getting reduced within this model since I did go through a lot of iterations and having that design engineering eye and having that eye for animations and interactions and stuff. So that still was there, but I was able to do this very quickly. It used to take a lot of time to do it, but now I'm able to do it very quickly. But Opus 5 is definitely a very capable model worth checking it out.
