Vibe Coding My Portfolio With Cursor

John Rodrigues built his portfolio with Cursor, an AI coding tool, and hosts it on Vercel. His site showcases native mobile work, a hackathon case study on agentic AI, courses, experiments, and a planned chat feature. He emphasizes that even with AI tools, the work still required constant human direction.

So yeah, this is a walkthrough of my portfolio. I wipe coded my portfolio with Cursor and here is the live version of it. So it's finally live and I'm working on some tweaks, but it's out here and built everything with cursor. Really enjoyed that experience building with Cursor and then used Vercel to host. Initially I had done Lovable and then I hit some like issues and then went back to Vercel. So I kind of added this like little bit of like delight here. It's a hidden delight, I call it. And then my positioning is focused on AI, native product and design engineering. And then what I do is I help startups and innovation teams to design AI native mobile experiences combining, you know, combining product design, agentic systems and functional prototyping. This is something that I teach in my cohort. So I kind of packed that into some kind of core positioning of what I do. So I was juggling between different platforms as there's definitely more demand for web and mobile combined. But I really looking back enjoyed on working on native mobile. So I kind of filtered down and kept only native mobile projects. Always get asked like, show me web, show me web. But I think I can still do web. But I wanted to just focus on the native mobile and then I do have some shift UI understanding and you know, mobile on device models and stuff, understanding and things. So I kind of focused on that native mobile and that's what I really enjoy doing. This is my Hackathon project that I won. Hackathon project hosted by OpenAI Lovable and AGI Inc. So I'm kind of making that my flagship case study where it shows about the agentic workflows and you know, how AI can be leveraged to drive like outcomes and stuff. So I teach a lot to this to people. So this is going to be my flagship case study and that's coming soon. And this is the work I did at Citibank. I've added that and some of the traditional, you know, mobile design work and then highlighting my AI design playbook and you know, curating some of those KPIs and core metrics of my portfolio. Years of experience, number of product and users impacted. This is a chat, John. AI I've added and this rag I need to work and train. So it's coming soon. But people will be able to talk to my portfolio and also have a conversation with my portfolio and ask questions and things. And also it recommends certain prompts people can ask and stuff. So, so this is something coming soon and then the learn it takes to my AI design academy where I have my courses and stuff and then AI experiment. This is a section that I like I like a lot. So I'm updated few projects here but experiments but I'm going to add more showing like some of the AI experiments and interaction patterns that I'm exploring. And the blog is like linked to my substack and then this is. I get a request so sometimes to get some mentorship and stuff. So I created this consulting pages and stuff and then highlighting some of the you know, testimonials and stuff and then people can like book a call from here directly and then I I speak about things that I do and how I can help them. And then this is a testimonial wall. I'm curating all the testimonials here in one place and some of the past speaking gigs and about me section and then all project. This is a gallery of all the project I have combination of web and mobile and watchos and stuff. So I'm going to try to bring that back here but kind of kept what I this is the like a link tree. So I used to use link tree instead of that I wipe coded my own link tree which is you know I can. I put this links in my like social media and stuff so highlights my portfolio and my courses and my playbook and stuff. So just a. I use everything with build with cursor. It was super. I took a lot of time for like iterating people think might think oh it's like one prompt and everything happens. I got questioned like oh what you did you do like the AI did it. But that human direction and able to kind of direct your you know, the designs and stuff and troubleshooting it takes a lot of efforts. It's not like a one shot but it takes a lot of efforts and stuff. So yeah so this is the yeah this looks like there's some project thing came back here I need to change that. But I use cursor, cursor agent and yeah everything built with React and things. So I sometimes go to the code and do the modifications and stuff. So it's a pretty nice adding like the react motion library and stuff which was good and then hosted in Vercel and there you go. And then I'm still working on some final tweaks but it's live and ready to go and also it's mobile responsive so it took select lots of prompts to get that right. But yeah it's all out there. That's a lot of fun. And then I kind of added this, like, chat iOS sheet kind of a style, which is nice. Yeah. Thanks for watching.
