Welcome to the Secret Sauce of Outsourcing podcast that's dedicated to making you better at outsourcing to the Philippines. This is episode 223, how EJ, one of our customers, is changing the lives of his ofs. Well, I got this email from EJ and it made me cry. Like I had some tears. And so I wanted to share it with you so that you understand what's going on when you hire someone. So EJ is a subscriber of OnlineJobs ph and of my newsletter and listens to the podcast and he replied to one of my newsletter recently because he appreciated how Filipinos celebrate holidays. And I had an email about holidays and he told me that he gives his team all the holidays off and he also pays their sss. And in his words, here's what he says. He says they all made sense to me and are not very expensive to do and it blew their minds. I'm happy to be able to do it for them. So we take these things for granted here in the US that you're going to have health insurance or you're going to have your Social Security paid for, or you know your employer is going to pay it and you're going to contribute some of it. But in the Philippines, these things are life changing. Like having benefits or health insurance means you don't have to worry about getting sick or about getting pregnant. Where in the Philippines, like, that's such a massive burden on someone. If they have to go to the hospital, it's a really, really big deal. Or imagine if you, if you got pregnant, you can't pay for the birth of this child. And then having holidays off means you can have time to spend with your family and relax. It's not always work, work, work, work, work. So when a Filipino finds a job that provides these things for them, they're really happy and they're going to do a lot of things to try and keep that job. And even when they have problems, they, they're probably not going to say anything to the employer because they just want to keep their job and they want to make sure that you're happy. And this is exactly what happened to Alvy, who is one of EJ's OFS. Her computer broke and it was really actually a big problem, but she just kept on working. She didn't say anything. She figured out a way to keep working. He would never have known except that one of his other ofs found out and they told him about it. So if you're watching this on YouTube, you can see this picture of her computer, the back of her computer, here's what EJ said to me about it. This was her old desktop. It looks like a power surge damaged it, but it was very old anyway. And she was always having problems. She never told me she had an old computer. It was my lead VA that told me. And she said she was too shy to say anything. So I decided it would be beneficial to both of us to get her a much better computer. Her laptop is better than mine now. So EJ sent her money to buy a new computer and he sent me. It's causing me emotions now. He sent me pictures that her husband, I'm assuming, took of her as she went to go get this computer. And there were five pictures. And there's a progression of, like her from behind. If you're on YouTube, hopefully you can see this. A progression of her from behind getting the computer and then her turning around, like covering her face because she's getting emotional. And then there's a picture of her, like full crying. She just got a new computer and she. She doesn't even know what to do. She's just so happy. For most of us in the us, buying a new computer or a phone is. It's still a big deal, but it's not a life changing event. But for most Filipinos, this is like a rare and a special occasion. And that's why you see in the pictures that Alvy took her family along with her to go get this new computer. It's the start of a better life for her and for her family where she can get her work done faster and be more efficient and she'll just be a lot happier. So, yes, when you hire someone, you're going to change your life. You're going to get so much more stuff done. You're going to be more efficient as a business owner, but you're also going to change their lives too.
