Welcome to the Secret Sauce of Outsourcing podcast that's dedicated to making you better at working with OFS. This is episode 245, drowning balancing life and Business. So today I'm gonna. I'm gonna talk about Sarah, who I got a really, really great email from her and hopefully you can see her picture here. And I just want to tell you what she said and kind of, kind of provide some guidance towards balancing life and business. So Sarah was drowning and OFS changed that. Here's what she said. I purchased One VA Away back in March and didn't watch it until about two weeks ago when I was just drowning, balancing life and trying to grow a few businesses. So I finally watched the videos, posted a job and had 286 applications, which I'm interjecting here is way too many applications. You cannot manage 286 applications. We've limited it now to 200, which is still way too many. But you can do some things that will make it way easier to weed out the bad and find the good. I teach. I walk you through that whole thing at all1vaoa.com, she continues. I was completely overwhelmed, but I kept watching your videos and used your guidance to go through each one, eliminating first based on budget, then just started asking questions to see which ones would write back in a timely manner. Then there was one that just stood out. Not because of her experience, but because of how she communicated via email, how responsive she was, and more importantly, how she used bullet points and answered every question. I hired her and we have been working together for only three business days so far, but she is absolutely a perfect fit. I'm so thankful for you, your process and onlinejobs ph to have given me the structure and platform to find the most amazing person to add to my team. So kudos for a job well done. Your experience shows and thank you for sharing it. Best, Sarah. I love that she was overwhelmed and followed the process and didn't hire the most talented person. She hired someone that stood out because they were there, because they showed up, because they paid attention to the details. These are things that I teach in one VAOA and it usually works out. So now I want to talk about a couple things. So in my experience, if you don't have time to hire someone, it's likely one of two situations. Number one, you're already managing a bunch of people and I get it, you're too busy. You know, you're already working on your business. But if, number two, you're working in your business because you're talking to clients, you're generating leads. You are solving problems and implementing the solutions yourself. If you're doing that it's not an acceptable way to run a business. If you're doing number one you're just managing a bunch of people who are running your business for you. Cool. That's acceptable. Number two, man you got to spend some time working on on your business, not in it. Hiring someone is such a good way to work on your business and in fact to me it's the most effective use of time. That is a small amount of time that you can have. You double your productivity by hiring someone. Maybe you don't double your productivity but it's so easy to get so much done getting someone else on your team. And I've met very, very few people who regret taking a step away and spending a few minutes creating a job post and then interviewing people and hiring someone. Very few people that I've met regret doing it.
