Welcome to the Secret Sauce of Outsourcing podcast that's dedicated to making you better at working with OFS online Filipino specialists. This is episode 395 is it too late to send the 13th month? So today we're gonna talk about cultural and managerial stuff. So let's talk about the 13th month. So ideally you should send the 13th month payment out in December, and if you don't know what that is, you can check out onlinejobs ph 13thmonth and we will explain it to you. It is not something you are legally required to pay, but it is something you should. Most Filipinos use the 13th month to pay their bills or to buy present or to make big purchases, things they've been planning for or hoping for throughout the year. Then they also use it as like for Christmas feasts or New Year's parties or whatever. I mean, it's. The 13th month is a big deal in the Philippines. And if you're in the Philippines, it's legally required for you to pay it to someone. But you're not in the Philippines, so it's not legally required. So here's the question that someone brought to me. Is it too late to pay the 13th month? And this was in early January. Now, by the time you're hearing, this is probably March, although it's late February when I record. Is it too late? No, it's not, actually. And there are some businesses in the Philippines that specifically hold the payment until January. And some of that is probably just tax reasons or to simplify their December or whatever it is, most people pay it in December, but if you still can, then, yeah, pay it from last year. Now, whenever you're listening to them, in any case, look, the person that works for you from the Philippines is never. I mean, they may have been disappointed in December and not getting it if you didn't pay it, but for them to get it now in March, May or whenever, look, they're going to be thrilled. You're going to make their year with it. And then it gives you reason to do better in the future. So again, I want to say, I want to make sure that you understand the 13th month is not required. It's optional. Something we pay. We've always paid it. It's something you probably should pay. If there's one thing you're going to do for the people that work for you, the 13th month is the thing to do. It also goes a long way in building loyalty and building a sense of team and of them wanting to do really great work for you. The 13th month is this is it. So again, if you have questions onlinejobs ph 13thmonth13th month and that should answer all your questions, it's a pretty simple calculation, pretty easy to send it. Send it the same way you send your normal payments and yeah, that's it.
