Jessica Cronin- Drawing near to God when you don't feel Him

A short spoken encouragement by Jessica Cronin addressing listeners who feel distant from God. She urges people not to hide their struggles but to confess and bring them to God, grounding the message in Jesus’ actions (John 13) and Jesus’ promise of the Holy Spirit (John 14). Using a personal image (a child’s messy drawing on a refrigerator), she emphasizes God’s constant presence, pleasure in us despite our mess, and the promise that the Holy Spirit dwells with believers forever.
Hey everybody. I just felt like the Lord really wanted me to share a quick word just of encouragement to anyone that may be feeling like God is distant or struggling with honestly the lie that he's not near you. Maybe there's circumstances going on, maybe there you're feeling overwhelmed, maybe there's, there's been a death in your family. I know there's so much tragedy that happens in this world and so many trials that we face. But Jesus says that he is the way, the truth and the life. And I think we have to cling to that. I know that's a scripture we say all the time, but to really get the revelation from that and knowing that Jesus is with us all the time. So I just wanted to share a couple verses just out of John, John 13 and just some scriptures that I feel like God was really highlighting. And when Jesus was washing his disciples feet, he said, if I. Because Peter said, Peter said to him, you shall never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, if I do not wash you, you have no share with me. And I feel like the Lord was speaking to me and just to some of you that are listening right now of saying, do not h dirty parts. Do not hide the struggles, do not hide the heartache. Do not hide the things that are weighing on you from God and from Jesus. He loves you, he wants to make you clean, he wants to wash you afresh. And not that you aren't clean already, the cross has made you clean. But when we have things weighing in our heart, when we have things that we've been through and we don't confess them to God, and we don't talk to him about and commune with him, we can carry a burden we weren't meant to carry. And so I, I just want to encourage you. What are those things that you feel like you've been avoiding with God or not wanting to talk to him about and talk to him, just get it out. He knows what's in our heart, he knows what things we're going through. And I just want to encourage you to bring it forth, bring it forth in the light so the enemy cannot have a hold on you, on me, on any of us. I think that's really important. And something that I really also felt like in combination with that is he was saying, if you love me, you will keep my commandments and I will ask the Father and He will give you another helper to be with you forever. Even the spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive because it either neither sees him or knows him, you know Him for he dwells with you and will be in you. And I think this is something that God has really been speaking to me about personally, is he is with us. This is a fact. This isn't based upon feeling. This isn't based upon earthly perception. This isn't based upon what I see right now. It's based, like our reality, our mentality, our heart posture needs to be based on the truth in the Word. We will be bound in lies and strongholds or discouragement if we do not go back to the truth and we do not remind ourselves of this truth. And so remember, remember, I think we just need to come back to that truth that he is our helper. He is here. And it says, I will give you another helper to be with you forever. I mean, that's a big statement. Forever. The Holy Spirit is with us. There's no condition, there's no things we have to do to have the Holy Spirit around us. The Holy Spirit is with us no matter what. And this reality will help you personally and it'll help you be the change in this world. It'll help you come to realize, this woman at Walmart, she can be impacted. Even though I just had a hard day or I just lost somebody or whatever it is, you can still be that voice of truth for someone else because God has given you the Holy Spirit forever. It is not based on our feelings or our circumstances or anything. And I think that's something we have to come to. So I just want to encourage you. The Lord sees your situation. He sees your heart above all, and he loves you. He's pleased with you even in the messiness. And something the Lord showed me the other day when I was praying through something that was challenging for me, I was overwhelmed. And I asked the Lord how He saw me. And I asked the Lord to speak to me. And he showed me this picture of this little girl putting a drawing up on the refrigerator. And the Father was putting it up with a magnet. And it was this messy, scribbled picture that this little girl drew. And the Lord told me, he said, I am so pleased with everything you put your hands to, no matter what it looks like. And I feel like that's the word for someone listening today is, he is so pleased with you. He loves you, and your mess is beautiful to Him. So be open, be vulnerable with the Lord, and He will make everything right you down into the garden of your heart where all my pieces are torn apart. Put it all back together again.
