Identify your deeper why by asking yourself the same question three layers deep. A client wanted to stop losing money until she discovered her real why: protecting her family. Knowing this core motivation shapes how you act and who you become.
Write out your initial why and then ask yourself why is that why important? You know, my brother when I was a kid told me I would never do anything great. I'm competing with my brother. Just prove my brother wrong. There's other people that have intense whys that feel like I've been attacked my whole life. I've heard one of my top clients say I want to stop the loss. And there's many whys. So ask yourself what is underneath that why and go three layers deep. For me, God radically changed my life. I was a drug addict. I feel like I should not be here. But God radically changed my life. I connect it to all kinds of things. Why do I do the things I do? You get that you can create a vision statement that reflects those things. You can create the ability to envision your future. And why do you do the things you do is the motivator behind those things.
