Hey, everyone. It is Father's Day weekend. Hope you're doing well. Right now, I'm with my friend Elkin at his house with his wife Fernanda. They are just amazing people. And I want to tell you about a conversation we've been having today that's really powerful. And they have gone through a pretty outrageous thing, and the Lord has brought them through some things that I just feel like is going to stir your faith today. A lot of people have lost their jobs and have undergone a lot of financial stress during COVID and it's no different for them, but I want them to share what God did in their life in the midst of this time. And specifically, the conversation was about rest and the importance as we transition, as the world transitions from COVID and the emergency extremities of the panic state that the world was in. But some people stepped into a place of rest. It is so important in our life to remain in that place, and it's so hard. It's a fight sometimes to get to that place because it requires trust from the Lord and to the Lord. So, Elkin, why don't you just share, you know, your journey, you and your wife and family's journey from what happened with COVID.
Yeah, well, I didn't expect to be affected as much as we were, but basically, I had to take a leave from work, sent home in February, and shortly before that, my wife also lost some of her accounts and her work. And so we found ourselves in a little bit of a financial situation. And my wife doesn't have a job. I don't have a job, and we have this mountain of debt. And one morning after the night before, we decided we're gonna pray for this specifically today. We want resolution now. You know how we have it sometimes we want it like today, yesterday. But we prayed and we said, lord, you know, send your hands. And I really need to help me on this, because we have no income. We have nothing, you know, nothing. No way that we can pay it off. And so the next morning, I get. I get this huge amount of money on my bank account, and I'm like, wait, what does that come from?
You know?
And the subsequent day, for three days, I think it was three days, we received thousands of dollars. I know, 6,000, 10,000. One day, 5,000. And it's all the receipts that were accompanying this were saying things like, okay, we owe you from this and that, or this is part of your benefits that you're entitled to, and all this other stuff. And we're like, wait, what? And So I realized that the Lord giving us all this money. It was like an answer prayer.
Nobody told you that this would happen?
No, no, no, not at all.
There was no. Kind of like, y' all are in a place of saying, what do we do? Like, we have. We don't know. And then all of a sudden, yeah, here comes.
Yeah, I don't know where. And that's it. Yeah, that's the crazy thing. And I was remembering, you know, our math. I'm trying to do my math, right? Trying to plan to the future. How are we gonna split this up, you know, based on when I'm supposedly go back to work, which is, you know, months ahead. And. And I'm trying to figure out, like, you know, how are we going to make. Make ends meet for. For the house, for our, you know, to pay our mortgage, to pay our. Our bills, our food, etc. And then it's just, you know, it reminded me when God says, are my ways and. Are your ways. And. And that's exactly what happened. He just gifted us. He paid our debt off. Basically.
We paid.
We paid over over $35,000 worth of debt in three days.
Wow. So in the middle of. COVID 19 lost their jobs. And not only did God provide to see Elkin and Fernanda through to survive COVID 19 and the loss of their jobs, which they still got bills to pay. And I don't think there was too much leniency on the mortgage and all that kind of stuff, but not only did God provide, he even paid off their debts. Paid off some of their debts. What a powerful testimony. And I truly believe it just revolves around that concept of resting in the Lord, trusting God, like, we're not subject to the worries of this world. As children of God, we should believe that God is going to provide. And I mean, even if he just provided, that would have been wonderful. Thank you, Jesus. Let's just send this out right now. But God is the one who does more than we could ever expect or imagine. That is his nature. And I just want to say that over anybody watching, God is the one who can do not only what you imagine or expect, he can do more than what you imagine and expect. And it's not just that sounds good. And he could do that if he wanted to. Well, let's just kind of be passive in this situation. It's. That is his nature. And as children of God, you inherit that nature as who you are and as who God is to you. So be blessed today. And I hope this encourages you. And why don't Elkin, why don't you just pray over anybody watching over us, over me, Over. Just pray.
The word says that we shouldn't worry what to wear tomorrow, what to eat, when we're gonna sleep, and all these things that you know before we even ask.
The things that we need.
And you are a provider. You're our Father in heaven who provides. So we ask you, Lord, in the name of Jesus, that you bring provision and you answer the prayers of those that are in need right now for every aspect of their life, Father. From the monetary to the spiritual to healing in their bodies and to every aspect of their life, Father.
