A short YouTube talk by Jonathan Cronin arguing that wisdom, exemplified by Solomon, is more valuable than money. The speaker recounts Solomon asking God for wisdom (and being granted great wealth), cites Proverbs verses praising wisdom over silver and gold, and notes that some estimate Solomon’s wealth in modern terms to exceed $2 trillion.
The only time in the Bible where it actually states that God deliberately gave someone wealth was in answer to Solomon's desire for wisdom above wealth. You know the story God gave Solomon one wish nothing or anything he would like, and he asked for wisdom, not wealth. And so God gave him more wealth than anyone else. So that leads me to my second point and the second scripture from a man named Solomon. In the book of Proverbs, many studies find that Solomon is the richest man who has ever lived. Many equate Solomon's wealth in today's money to be over $2 trillion. He said in Proverbs 10:13, Wisdom is supreme. So get wisdom, even if it cost everything. That's a hard Scripture. Proverbs 3:13 says, Blessed is he who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding for the gain from her is better than gain from silver, and her profit better than gold.
