Jonathan unpacks Matthew 13's parable of the sower, warning that hearing Scripture without understanding lets the enemy steal the message. The kingdom isn't just future but lives inside you now through Christ's death and resurrection. Two moves: exercise your authority in Christ so the enemy can't snatch the seed, and learn to hear and obey the Holy Spirit.
Hey guys, it's Jonathan. I want to share with you a passage in Matthew chapter 13. Jesus says, when anyone hears the message about the kingdom of God and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is a seed sown along the path. So Jesus is breaking down a passage that he just shared with his disciples and the people listening, and he's talking about four seeds. Only one seed actually leads to eternal life. The seeds represent different paths that everybody, in my opinion, everybody in the world is going to go down at some point. They're going to choose one of these paths, and only one leads to eternal life. One of the biggest ones, and I believe one of the most prevalent paths that Jesus talks about is the very first one, which is the one I just read. And what this immediately says to me is that it is possible to read the word of God, to listen to sermons, however long, 40 years, day and night, doesn't matter. It is possible to hear and listen to the word of God and actually not understand it. And the enemy is actually, in that case, able to come and snatch it away to where you do not enter eternal life. And I want to. In this video, I want to share some keys that are essential and how to go from hearing to understanding. One of the major things I believe is found in the meaning of the word kingdom. I actually looked the word kingdom up in the Greek, which is in Matthew 13 in this context, and I wrote it down. It means royal power, kingship, dominion, and rule. So crazy. But the thing is, I believe that another key in what this means is found in Luke 17. Jesus said that the kingdom is actually come inside of you. Many will be looking and observing. You know, when is the kingdom coming? The Pharisees asked Jesus, when is the kingdom coming? Jesus said, you will look for it, people will observe, but you will not find it because the kingdom is actually inside of you. So, so what's crazy about this that we have to see is it's not okay just to believe that there is a kingdom, which many people who preach, many people who sing in the choir, many people who teach at Sunday schools, many people actually believe that there's a kingdom. But the thing that they're missing, the thing that is absolutely essential that Jesus taught the new message of the kingdom is not just that there's a kingdom that's dominant or there's a kingdom that is God's, it's that there's a kingdom inside of you. There is now because of Jesus Christ, death and Resurrection. And then the Holy Spirit, he sent. There's now a kingdom that lives inside of you, and it is one of royal power. And now inside of you, there's kingship, there's dominion and rule. And if you do not, the Bible says, if you do not understand, if you do not hear and understand this, that you have royal power and kingship and dominion inside of you, that this is the way you are to look at the world today, that you're to look at the enemy, that you're to look at all the things of this world. If you do not understand what I'm sharing right now, if you do not understand the new kingdom message, the enemy can come and snatch that away. And he will. I believe this is one of the most eager things that the enemy is wanting to do right here is find the people who hear that, who hear the Word, who hear about the kingdom but do not understand it. And he wants to pounce on them and basically snatch that seed that was sown away. And I believe understanding this actually means putting it into practice. So when we have a kingdom inside of us, we actually put that to practice and we begin to exercise that. We begin to remind the enemy. We begin to declare that we have rule over the enemy, enemy's power. The last key, number two, and this is the. This is the last one, I believe is one of the most important things you could possibly remember. And that is the kingdom inside of you is only through the Holy Spirit that came to live inside of you. The Holy Spirit. Jesus said his role when he comes, which he has now come, because this was Jesus before he left the earth. Then in Acts 2, the Holy Spirit comes. Jesus said the Holy Spirit's role is to teach and guide you into all truth. There's many people who believe in the Holy Spirit, believe the Holy Spirit's inside, but does not listen to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is essential to you living in the kingdom. The Holy Spirit was given to us to. To guide us into all truth. If you do not listen and obey and actually commune with the Holy Spirit, then you will suffer. There will be persecution that comes and you will fall away. There will be like, you will hear the word, but you cannot understand anything because the Holy Spirit is not there. And the Holy Spirit is what illuminates of this stuff. So I just want to leave you with those two practical things. One, it's about exercising the dominion that you have been given through Jesus Christ on this earth. And if we do not understand that, the enemy can steal that away and Number two, we must learn to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. He is the most wonderful counselor, he is the best teacher and he is the greatest guide. But we have to diligently ask the Lord to open our ears and give us hearing, enable us to hear the Holy Spirit. Because if we do not, we will easily misunderstand or not have any comprehension and not be able to utilize what's in the word, what's in the new kingdom in our lives and not be able to understand it. So I just wanted to share that with you. If this is you, if you say, wow, thank you for that, but I do not know what it's like to commune with the Holy Spirit. We would love to pray with you and I believe that there are many that are experiencing just encouragement and right now I just sense that the time we live in today we must grab hold of this word.
