In this introductory YouTube video, pianist Jon Cheney announces the release of his new album "A Sunday Afternoon," featuring 12 piano arrangements of beloved hymns and medleys. He explains that each track will receive its own dedicated playthrough video, allowing viewers to navigate the collection song by song. The album, originally written ten years ago, is now accompanied by sheet music available at joncheney.com. Cheney shares personal background—growing up with a piano, playing hymns on Sundays, and creating on‑the‑fly arrangements. He highlights several pieces, including a popular mash‑up of "When I Am Baptized" with "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," "Come Follow Me," "In Humility Our Savior," "I'd Love to See the Temple," "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing," a funeral medley for his late grandfather, and a rendition of "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music. He notes the album’s release date (January 23, 2025) and invites viewers to enjoy the upcoming song‑by‑song videos, starting with "Come Follow Me."
