What Your Chart Reveals About the Mind: Rahu, Neptune and the Moon

Joni Patry explains how Vedic astrology chart placements reveal mental patterns. The Moon is the primary marker of mind and emotions, and its connections with Rahu, Saturn, Mercury, and Neptune signal depression, delusion, addiction, and psychic ability. Moon-Rahu and Mars-Neptune conjunctions carry particular weight.

Hi, I'm Joni Patry, and welcome to my YouTube channel. Well, today I want to talk about how to find mental illness Or delusions in a chart, because we've all wondered about some people, haven't we? I'm going to give you all the secrets of what you can find in a chart and how you will know if this person is delusional or mentally ill. What do you look for? Okay, let me dig in here. This is deep, this is profound, and I have some answers. Rahu is a determining point in a chart that really does tell you about someone's extremes in life. And when you get Rahu with the Moon— the Moon meaning the mind— and here's the most important thing, probably the Moon is the most important determinant to tell you about someone's mind. And it also rules their emotions, but the mind and how it operates. And Mercury has a lot to do with that too, but you're going to focus in on the Moon. Did you know that lunar— from the word lunar comes lunatic? So the Moon is so important when you put the Moon together with Rahu or Ketu, but particularly with Rahu. Now I'm not saying everyone out there with Rahu Moon is crazy, but I am saying Their life has major extremes, highs and lows emotionally, and it stems from the mother. Because when you have Rahu conjunct the Moon, the Moon is the mother. Your mother was really extreme in some way, and you picked up some of that. So emotionally, you have highs and lows and a lot of extremes when you have the Moon conjunct Rahu. It's a given. And certain signs can make it even more intense, such as Cancer. Cancer is the most sensitive sign of the zodiac. Cancer Moon with Rahu would send the mind into extremes many, many times. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to give you a lot of, a lot of things to look for when people have more than 3 of these, or 3 of these things, you can bet they have mental instability and they're going to need help. Seriously. Okay, so the first determinant could be the Moon, especially when it's with Rahu. Now, if the Moon is with Saturn, this can cause depression. There's a heaviness, and maybe they're just really, really But there's something about a heaviness with the mind. And another thing, because the Moon is the mother, when you get Moon Saturn, it could be the mother. When you get Moon Rahu, it could be the mother. And you feel like when you're growing up and nurtured by your mom, that maybe she wasn't there for you, and somehow you equate this to a lack of security or love. And that affects you throughout your life. So another thing that could cause instability with the mind is when you look at Mercury, Mercury with the Moon. As a matter of fact, people that have Mercury conjunct the Moon or Mercury opposed the Moon, their mind tends to go in overdrive all the time. They can't stop thinking. thinking, and they're always second-guessing everything they do. They overthink everything. And you see, the Moon is the emotions and it is the mind. Mercury is how we process thoughts. When you put the planet that processes thoughts with the planet that represents the mind, the thoughts never stop. They're constantly in overdrive and overthinking everything. So this is causing some stability to the mind. Now another thing I mentioned which can be Ketu with the Moon— this is more or less somebody that's more concerned about their mother. They felt like their mother had a great difficult time and they're always trying to help other people, particularly their mother in many respects. But the mother did have a difficult life if there is a Moon with Ketu, but it makes you more sympathetic and really striving to help the mother and yourself emotionally because of the effects of being raised by a mother that was in a difficult place. And Ketu with Mercury— and both of these actually, Ketu with the Moon and Ketu with Mercury, would make you extremely intuitive and psychic. So there's this inner connection to the other side with Ketu with the Moon or Mercury. Now another thing I'm going to bring out, there's a nakshatra that deals with a lot of mental instability and may— and a lot to do with— and by the way, I didn't bring this out, but addictions, addictive type personalities. This is Rahu Moon. This is Rahu Mercury, because Mercury is how you think, and Rahu deals with extremes, and many times it can even deal with addictions. So you'll find that Rahu deals with this. But what nakshatra am I talking about? It is Shatabhishak. Shatabhishak, or Shatabhisha, is the nakshatra That deals with the 100 healers. And I find so many people with planets in this nakshatra will have individuals in their life, or sometimes it's them, but many times it's people in their life that need healing. Because what does that nakshatra say with the 100 healers? Sometimes people with this nakshatra means hard-to-cure diseases. So I have found that 9 times out of 10, because Shatabhishak is a nakshatra that is ruled by Rahu— Rahu-ruled nakshatras have extremes, but this one deals with hard-to-cure diseases, and most of the time I find it deals with addictions. So if you have planets in that nakshatra, you may find that there's people that surround you in your life that have problems Mentally, and many times it is addictions. So it gets you into healing because you're always trying to find a way to help and heal them. So that nakshatra is one to look for, and it's right there in the middle of Aquarius. So yes, so look at that one, 13 degrees 20 minutes, centered right in the middle of Aquarius. So The next thing that you can look for with mental instability would have to be with the 5th house. The 5th house deals with the mind and intelligence, and if you throw Rahu in the 5th house, then you are obsessed about things. You can't stop thinking about things even though you know it's crazy and you want— and you're trying to stop. It's like your mind is on a hiccup. It keeps thinking the same thing over and over, and you're trying to not think this way, but you do. You do get over it. But, and that's another thing, Rahu in the 5th house makes people worry excessively. That's kind of a mental condition as well, or somehow they're over-the-top extreme in some way mentally. This is Rahu In the 5th house. Now, Rahu being with the Sun can make somebody overly self-centered and egotistical sometimes, so that's another thing. But really, when we're talking about instability, we're going to look mainly at the Moon for the mind. Now, another planet that can cause the this is Neptune. And Neptune is the planet of delusions, deceptions. It is a very difficult planet. It's a lot like Ketu, but this can cause more delusions than Ketu. If someone has Mars conjunct Neptune, and the tighter the orb the more extreme. The individual can be delusional. Not always, but I find, you know, out of their mind in some way. They're hooked up into a cult or delusional behavior or delusions that they believe. This is a Neptune-Mars. Like I say, you got to have more than one of these, but this one I have found to be pretty accurate. Because Neptune's delusional, and when you put Mars next to it, it blows it out of the park. Delusions. Charles Manson has this exactly Mars conjunct Neptune. He was a cult leader in 1969, convinced all these people to commit murder, and he spent most of his life in prison. So this was a very delusional person. Moon conjunct Neptune can be very delusional, especially the mother, but it can also make somebody extremely psychic, intuitive, know things ahead of time before they happen, connect to other worlds and the other side. The Moon's the mind, Neptune can make it delusional. So Neptune-Mercury can be a little bit delusional too. But this is like Neptune is— can deal with cults, but it can also be extremely spiritual. It's just I find most of the time it deals with delusions, and it also deals with alcohol and addictions too. Neptune next to the Moon, the mother can have problems with addiction or alcohol. Neptune next to the Sun, the father can have addictions to alcohol or drugs or some kind of addiction. And here is another thing. When I was talking about the nakshatra Shatabhisha— Shatabhisha, it's pronounced either way— It can deal many times with alcohol, so be aware of that as well. So this deals with the mind, delusions, problems, insanity. Ketu Moon— the mind is elsewhere most of the time, not a part of this world. So really what you're focusing in on for the mind and delusions is going to be the Moon And Mercury, but particularly the Moon. And if you have Mars conjunct the Moon, that's actually a business person. It's not so bad. If you have Jupiter with the Moon, this would make someone optimistic and healthier mentally. If you have— I went through Saturn can be depression. If you have Mercury is the one that can make you overthink too much, but Venus conjunct the Moon can be a sweet disposition, and this is not a problem, not even though they're not friends. In Jaimini astrology, that is actually one of the best aspects. So that covers— just scratches the surface Of course, on what can cause mental instability in a chart.
