Hi, my name is Jorge Cruise, and I'm known as the number one weight loss strategist to the world's busiest celebrities. I'm also a multiple New York Times bestselling diet author with over 30 books and 12 million fans. You may have seen my work with Oprah Winfrey, Khloe Kardashian, Tyra Banks, Kelly Clarkson, or even Dr. Oz. My career started in my early 20s because I was a addicted to sugar, carbs, and salty snacks, and experts told me to simply count calories to get control.
They were wrong.
My passion to get radical control over hunger has led me to find a study-proven way that creates Zero Hunger and helps my clients drop 2 pounds each day. And I know I can help you too.
Welcome to the Zero Hunger Revolution. Happy Thursday, I'm Jorge Cruise, and welcome to the Jorge Cruise Show. Uh, today is Thursday, March 11th, like I said, and more importantly, today we're going to be talking about, as we do on Thursdays, about thinking fit. Because I believe that the game called weight loss, and especially if you want to lose up to 2 pounds each day using our Zero Hunger Plan, is all about knowing that it's all mental. As much as you can have the strategies to turn off your cravings for sugar, carbs, salty snack foods, and that's what Zero Hunger Water does You can still self-sabotage yourself with yourself because it's mental, guys. So on Thursdays, what we dedicate Thursdays to, and that is today, is to thinking fit. And there are behavioral kind of strategies, behavioral thought processes that you can do to change your focus and thus change your behavior. Today we're going to be talking about journaling. It's a tool I've been using for over 20 years since I was in my 20s, so probably 25 years. I learned it from Anthony Robbins and he learned it from a man named Jim Rohn. And it is powerful. People have been doing this for for millennia, and it's powerful because it changes your focus, and it's a form of self-care and self-love, which I think is so important in today's world. But so many of us feel neglected, we feel unloved, we feel not happy, and you can do it with yourself. Literally, it is a tool that you can utilize when you're home alone, in the mornings, at night. I'm gonna give you my strategies, my method of doing it. I'm gonna show you the journal I use and why I love it so much. Super simple stuff, but huge impact. Super great shortcut to turn off emotionally. All right, guys, before we get started with today's show, though, I want to give thanks to our sponsors. So with that said, guys, let's get down to it. Journaling. So what is journaling? It's this idea that you can write it out instead of eating, you know, instead of biting and biting and eating, because 90% of the time, if It's late night and you're home alone and you're trying to conquer the night. It's boredom, it's stress, it's loneliness, it's a downward spiral. I've been there, I've been sad, I've been alone, I've been through divorce, I've been through it all. And when you're in that dark place, you need self-love. And I'll tell you, the best way to do that is through journaling. Now, I also started in the morning. I usually use my journal twice a day. I usually take it with me everywhere I go. And I wanna show you the journal I've been using now. A friend of mine in New York got this for me and I'm so thankful. Check it out, it's this tiny little, journal. This one is made by Smithson. I love it. I'll put it in the, in the, uh, in the show notes so you can check out this one. It even has my initial on it, JC, on it. But I like it because it's portable. If you look at my iPhone, it's about the same size as an iPhone, and you can take it with you. I recommend a small journal, uh, and a nice tipped pen. This one is by, uh, Uni-ball. It's the Vision Light Elite. It's super light. They're inexpensive. Literally, this is how I travel the world with this right here. Now, when do I use an iPad? Because a lot of you guys have been seeing me use iPads. And what do I do with the journal, whether it's old school paper or digital? Let me give you the tools and how it works, the suggestions, kind of like how I use it, protocol. So in the morning when I rise, I usually have it by my bed with my Zero Hunger Water. I'll drink my water and then I'll have a thought. I'll have a thought that comes to me. I'm like, today, you know what? I gotta get this done. And I already have thoughts from the week. I always start my week on Sundays and I do a longer journal entry on what I want to get done, what got accomplished. I look back on my notes on what didn't get done. And I kind of come up with a big vision plan. A compelling future gets written out in there. So I get lit up. You have to get lit up. If you don't have that fire inside of you guys, it's not going to work. Nothing's going to work, including keeping the weight off. Now, for you guys, if you're thinking about, hey, I want to lose 2 pounds a day, I want to keep the weight off, I want to be one of your success stories like Sandy. Sandy's almost lost 100 pounds. She and I talk often. She's the gal in Woman's World magazine that lost 93 pounds, got off all her meds. She is 58 years young, gorgeous, and she continues to do this. And journaling is a tool I taught her as well. And I want to share it with you because it is such a way to give yourself that calm energy and really take your mind off of food and take your mind off of, uh, of eating. Because so many times all eating is for us is filling a void on the inside. And it's not hunger, because if you zero hunger water, whether it's Elemental Labs or the one we teach at zerohungerplan.com to make at home, it's going to turn off physical hunger. It just is. The sodium turns off those cravings. You're not, you're not going to want to eat sugar or carbs. You're going to lose that craving. You're going to lose that draw to food. And if you eat protein and fats and all that during your eating window, you're going to give yourself what you need to stay strong. So you're going to be fine physically, you know. But then what happens if you're having a rough day? If you're feeling lonely or sad at night. So I use it at night too. I use it in the morning to light my day up and I use it at night to calm myself because oftentimes, you know, if you're home alone and it's the pandemic still, you know, a lot of us haven't been vaccinated, we're not going out as much. I'm going out, I had COVID, I have the antibodies, but still, you know, I'm single right now and for me, you know, being home alone can sometimes be overwhelming. So I get my journal out, it's me and my journal and my little pen and I get into the journal to think, all right, why am I feeling this way? Why am I feeling lonely? Am I alone? I'm not, I'm with myself. And I know I have a belief, I have a faith in my heart. I really believe, you know, in intelligent design or higher power. Some of us call it God, but whatever it is, I do believe that we're all connected. And when I remember how connected we all are, and I do it in my journal, I said, why am I feeling sad right now? And I start writing it out and I think, all right, because I'm home alone. But then I question it in the journal. I write out, but am I alone? And I know I'm not because I have this connection to, I think,— I don't want to say the universe, but I'm going to use that word as an option. I feel that connection. I just do, down to my kids, family, friends, strangers, dogs. I mean, I feel a connection because I feel like there's an energy in all our souls, and I connect to that. And then I know that, hey, I'd have to believe in the illusion that I'm all alone, that I'm just like some miracle that was just created out of nothing. And as much as I'm a miracle, I do believe that. I do believe we were created for an intelligent reason. You know, and that we're all interconnected. So once I remember the truth, the truth sets me free. I no longer feel lonely. Then I feel my connection. I'm back into the game. I'm reconnected to my power, you know, and whatever that is for you. And then I think about, all right, well, well then what am I gonna work on right now? How am I gonna maximize my stillness right now? And I think about my podcast. I think about my clients. I think about my kids. I think about all the things I need to get done. And I write it down now because I do this every day. And I do it in the morning as well. The list is very clear because now I can organize my thoughts, prioritize things that are time sensitive. And by the time I'm done, even if it's an hour or two, it is the best investment of your life because it's about refining your life. It's about creating almost like a map, like a treasure map, to get to your goal, to get to your vision, to get to what you want in your life. But if you don't have a plan then you're lost. If it's just in your head, it overwhelms you. And some people, they may not be lonely, but they may be just stressed out of their mind because they're not writing it down. And once it's in here, I put it on the table, I sleep like a baby. I literally release all that stress. It's gone. It's all in there because I know I haven't forgotten anything. And it gives you a sense of confidence because, you know, sometimes you forget things. I mean, I've had dreams that were like amazing dreams. I had an idea, I didn't write it down. I said, I'll write it down later after I have my cup of coffee, my Zero I drink longer water and then I forget it, you know, and I don't think I have dementia yet, but what I do have is a short attention span, but that's all of us. So that's why I sleep near my journal. It's on my bedside and this will last me usually 2 months. Uh, and again, I'll put the, the Smithson, uh, brand out there. You can Google it, Smithson. They're beautiful, high-end, really beautiful journal, soft, put it in my pocket. It's perfect. Uh, but it's my, my meds. By my bedside. And if I have a thought at night that comes to me, a worry, a problem, an inspiration, it goes into the journal. And because I use a fine tip pen, again, this is Uni-ball Fine Extra, it's, it's great. I can put so much onto the page and the page, it may be small, but it's loaded full of stuff and my best thoughts are in there. And then obviously, you know, I use that and then I'll transfer it onto my laptop. I'll type it up. I'll share it on my calendar. It just depends what's in there, right guys? Now, when do I use a digital iPad? I also love an iPad and I have an Apple Pencil. I use that more for big picture stuff. Almost I think of it as a whiteboard. Kind of like when you're, I mean, I use it to teach my clients. If you guys are gonna be joining us in April, you'll see I lead these classes on Sunday nights and I use it as a whiteboard to bring points across, to communicate big thoughts. And I'll use it every day as well, but for a different reason. It's to read, it's to highlight. I put all my PDFs in there. So it's a different type of tool, you know, and I love my iPad, but it doesn't have that precision of a pen and a small piece of paper. It's not there, not yet. I hear that they're making an iPad, uh, that's going to be tiny with a pencil, which if they do, I would love that because I'd like something small, but I like my paper. I'm just old school. Now you can use the new iPad if you want, and the point is you can use anything. It could be a yellow pad, it could be, um, an inexpensive, uh, composition journal that we used to use in college. Do you guys remember those, those black and white ones? Just use something and stick to it and do it every day for the next 7 days is your homework, all right? I want you to try this out and see how it calms your nerves, how it's going to help you conquer the night. And more importantly, it's going to give you confidence, confidence to know that you've got this ability to have a conversation with yourself, even if you're alone. And yet you're never alone, because if you're with yourself, you have the best company in the world. Because, you know, if we feel lonely, we're forgetting that we're with us. And when you're with you, you've got a connection to a greater power. You do. It's right in here. We just got to remember that. The journaling will help break trans— it will help you transcend the illusion that you're alone, even though physically maybe one person in your home. But we are all connected, guys. I really believe in that. I hope you do as well. So if that helps, awesome. If you have questions, email me, Jorge, at JorgeCruiseShow.com. And I'll be back on Sunday with Dr. James, guys, and the mineral fix. All right, peace and purpose. Have a great Thursday night. Take care.
