Welcome to the Jorge Cruise Podcast Season 4. I am so excited that you are here right now, whether you're watching or listening to the show. Welcome. I am beyond grateful for your time right now because I wanna make you a promise right now as we start Season 4, and this is a big promise. For me, health has been my obsession, my passion for over 30 years, right? I started as a trainer. I dove into the world of books, did really well as a New York Times bestselling author for 20 years. 5 years, wrote a bunch of books. It seems that people liked my books. 12 on the New York Times. And if you're one of my readers from back in the day, welcome. If you're one of my social media friends, welcome. If you're a fan of Zero Hunger Water, welcome. And if you just start just tuning into this because you're interested in intermittent fasting, keto, or you're over 50 like me and you want to just get healthy fast, that's what I've been known for. Because I'll tell you, the thing all my books known for was really shortcuts, the best shortcuts out there. I was really blessed. If you don't know my background, I'll give it to you in a nutshell because I think it's relatable. I was someone that was overweight for years. I was an emotional eater. I was addicted to sugar and carbohydrates as a kid. For me, a great time was going to McDonald's, having french fries first, always getting a Big Mac, having an ice cream, one of those soft serves, a milkshake, and If I was a good boy, my parents would get one of those apple pie crisps. You guys remember those? Ah, they're so good. And then the next day I would start my day with Captain Crunch cereal. And I didn't realize how much what we ate impacted our health. I had no idea. My parents did not understand health at all. My mother was this incredible, gorgeous film star that had married an American man, my dad. And both of them have passed now. My mom much earlier than I would have hoped for. For my dad just a few years ago. And I can tell you, having lost both of my parents really gave me a lot of insight and appreciation for health. My mom especially, she left early. She was in her early 60s. And it made me commit to a lot of people out there when I knew that her life was, was cut too short, that I could help others educate themselves. And that was for me a big promise that I made my mom. She always challenged me. Um, before she passed, that I should someday meet Oprah Winfrey. And I don't know if I'm just a mama's boy or the way I was raised, but I made that happen within a year of her passing. And I can tell you, the greatest gift of my life was that gift honoring my mom, understanding that for some reason this incredible soul, Oprah Winfrey, would amplify my intentions. And I am grateful to Miss Winfrey every single day. Just listening Thank you, Oprah. We love you. You are an incredible force for good. As you say, we are spiritual beings having a human experience. And because of you, I realize that more than ever now in my life. And so as I welcome you to the show here, to the podcast, I want to tell you, this is a struggle for all of us. Whether it was me 20, 30 years ago as I started my career, if it was me 30, 40 years ago as a kid with my weight, health is a puzzle. It's something that is not easy, but it's simple. And that's what we're going to do on the show this season 4. We are going to call it Simply Fit. We're going to make it simple. And I can tell you, you're with the right person. I have dedicated my life to interviewing and talking to the most incredible people out there that have made it their life to simplify health, to find the nugget. And we are going to discover in every episode incredible nuggets to maximizing health if you're over 50. And if you're under 50, hey, it'll help too. It'll help anyone any age. And it's going to be a simple system of two simple methods that really my career has come down to. And if you think about it, what is health, right? What is health? Health is, in my opinion, confidence over how you feel, having the ability to have radical control over things that you want to do and accomplish and not having a lot of limits. Now, as we get older, we start to believe that's not possible anymore. We think, oh, I can only be strong and fit and have this unlimited energy and unlimited health, if you will, in my 20s, in my 30s maybe, but my mid-30s, forget it. And I'm someone now at 51 that's going to tell you that is BS, complete BS, and that you, no matter what your age, whether you're in your 20s, 30s, 40s, 50 like me, 51, 60s or 70s or beyond. We are gonna be talking with superstars this year. People like Martha Stewart, who is 81 years young. I saw her just a few weeks ago in New York. Phenomenal, incredible shape, gorgeous health. We're gonna be talking about how she stays young. We're gonna be talking to people like Zach Williams, who is gonna share how his father, Robin Williams, took his life, but more importantly has given him a mission mental hygiene and how to create mental health through a simple system, a kit, if you will, on how to change what we think. And so it's going to be a really exciting year because we're going to talk to incredible celebrities, experts, experts that have become dear friends with Dr. Mindy. You guys know who she is. She's one of the intermittent fasting experts in the world when it comes to women's health. We're going to be talking to her. Danica Patrick, who is an incredible woman known in our world as a, as an athlete, shall we say. Car driving, and now she's starting a new chapter in her life. We're going to talk about how to start new chapters. We're going to be talking with people that are making things happen today. Everyone we're going to talk to is over 50. I'll see if we can get some young folks on here. I hope so. But I'm excited. And really, the foundation of all this— I just want to share that on today's episode. It's just me today. We're not celebs on today. It's just me. But I want to— I want you to realize there's two key parts to this program, to this podcast. And it's really my ethos. It's what I believe the culmination of 30 years of focus has led me to believe. And that is two things. And I want you to hear me on this. Number one, I call it eat fit. Eating fit is everything. It's a philosophy that I learned years ago from a man named Jack LaLanne. If you guys remember who Jack LaLanne was, he was Godfather of Fitness, and his philosophy was simple: you can never out-train a poor diet. So we're going to lead with nutrition. I call it eating fit. I'm going to share with you, I think, what is the simplest way to maximize your health, your energy, to lose weight, and that is through intermittent fasting combined with keto, which means you can still eat carbs. We're going to talk about carb swaps. We're going to talk about how to enjoy foods that you love, like pasta. There's nothing off limit. It's just understanding how to turn off. And really the paradigm that I believe is what's gonna set our show off from any other podcast out there is understanding that if you wanna lose weight, it's not about weight loss, it's about hunger control. And you know about the project that I've started that's launching at the end of this year called Zero Hunger Water. I'll show it to you if you're watching on the web, take a peek. Zero Hunger Water is gonna be launching nationwide. It's a beverage ready to drink, and it's gonna give us what I call the hunger eraser. It's simply a beverage you drink and it Erases your hunger. But to get to that point, it took me 30 years. It took me 30 years to understand what it takes to turn off hunger. And it's about minerals. It's about understanding sodium, magnesium, potassium, and even glycine, an amino acid that can help bolster the body's ability to absorb these minerals that turn off phantom hunger. So we're going to learn about how to turn off that phantom hunger and more importantly, how you feel good all day long while you're fasting. Because I think it's revolutionary, whether, and whether you fast 8 hours, 6 hours, or you go really long, like 20 hours, it doesn't matter. It's going to help you have control. So that's Eat Fit. That's really the first element of what I would call the Jorge Cruise method, right? The second key is something radical for me, for me, for a lot of people that I've spoken to, this is not radical. It's been a part of their life for decades. I call it Soul Fit. And there's this idea, like Oprah talks about and other people talk about, how we are spiritual beings having a human experience. Now, that may sound a little weird. You may think, are you talking about church here, Jorge? Are you talking about going to like church again? It is not a religion. What for me SoulFit is, it's about igniting within you an energy. I call it your spirit. Soul, your energy, your essence. It's this thing that is you and yet is not you. It's this thing that was here before your physical, and it'll be here after your physical. And whether you believe in a God of your choosing, whoever that is, uh, or not, or you believe in the universe having your back, whatever that higher power is for you, it's where our energy goes and it comes back to. It's something that cannot be destroyed. Now, you may be thinking, Oh my gosh, Jorge Cruise, you're going a little deep here. What have you done? All this is for me, it's about understanding that for me, soul fit is about igniting passion. And we all have this soul, this energy, this passion within us. But unless it's ignited in some way, understanding what to eat is great, but you're not going to do it. You're not going to do it where it becomes something you do effortlessly. And so that is why for me, the second really level of of true simple fitness is understanding not just eating fit, but how to have a soul fit. And that's where we're going to be talking to experts that I think are in the cutting edge of really how to ignite that kind of energy within us that is going to give us not just a drive and a motivation, but momentum that is critical for long-term health, happiness, wellness, and freedom. And that's what this is all about. It's about giving us the freedom to be our best selves every single day in our 50s, 60s, 70s, or 80s. And I'll tell you, for those of you out there that think you're a little too old and you're only 30 or 40, I got a lot of news for you. You are gonna love our podcast because you're gonna understand on this show how that's not true and how more importantly, it's just your thoughts. It's your thoughts that determine that ignition, that igniting of your passion in you. And you can use your thoughts. Thoughts to turn on your spirit and your soul. You can use movement to turn on your spirit and your soul. You can do things like prayer, for sure, to turn on that spirit, but that's through a connection, through whatever that is for you, whether it's a God or higher, or even family and friends. There is no right and there's no wrong, but it's about understanding that without that spirit and that energy within you activated and pushed forward, It's gonna be hard to do anything in your life. I always make fun of people that I meet that, and it's not a good thing possibly, but that talk about, ah, Jorge, I can't get outta bed in the morning. I'm just not there. And I always think of a conversation I heard with Oprah that was really powerful about how when your soul, your spirit is in alignment with your purpose, you cannot be stopped. You wake up excited every single day. To live your life. Imagine having that occur in your life where your spirit is in alignment with your purpose. Then you're gonna jump outta bed at 4 in the morning, 5 in the morning. You're not gonna need 3 or 20 cups of coffee. Your spirit will be lit. But we're gonna talk about how to get that spirit lit because so many of us are not. So many of us get stuck in a place where we get depressed, where we get resentments that build up and we start to hate our life and we dislike others. And I can tell you, you may think I've had the perfect 30-year career. Oh no, there was a midlife crisis. We're going to be talking about the season that happened to me just over a year ago. It was during COVID and how right around turning 50, and now I'm 51, I'm going to be 52 this next year. I just hit a wall, a brick wall where I went through some really hardships. Both personal, financial, career, where everything— you would have thought the entire foundation of my life was completely destroyed and devastated. And my friends say it was, but just because that happens, it doesn't mean your life is over. And for me to have come back to a place where in about a year I was able to not just learn, but take what happened, this weight that was given to me, and utilize it to become stronger. And if anything, more vibrant and more compassionate for others that struggle. Because I used to think it's, oh, come on, this is so easy. But there are things in life that are tough. And so we're gonna be talking about these hard things and how to come back from places that are tough, whether that is losing a parent, which I did during COVID my dad, losing family members that are part of that energy that when someone passes, you know, how that is. Sometimes you don't hear from other family members anymore for whatever reasons, grieving issues. A lot of that breaks down your family to financial crisis, to health crisis, to emotional crisis, to substance abuse. We're gonna talk about everything because I've been there and I'm back. And what I wanna share with you is how you can do that too. Whether it's a low bottom you may have hit in the last couple of months, last couple of years, or you're really at rock bottom. We're going to get you out of that. And where you're going to understand how your SoulFit is going to give you this reconnection, this transformation internally. And the EatingFit will just become super basic because that is easy. EatingFit and understanding how to use things like Zero Hunger Water, how to utilize intermittent fasting, how to utilize keto, are going to be— that's just easy. It's simple. It's like setting the table. It's not that hard. It just happens every day. The hardest part is just getting yourself to set the table, but that's what SoulFit's gonna do. It's gonna give you the motivation, the internal drive to feel that passion that we need in our lives to live a high quality life where we just wake up and we feel great. So that's season 4, guys. I'm excited. So much is coming. We have these incredible guests that'll be coming. We're gonna be adding a segment to every Thursday show that's called Ask Jorge Cruise. I'll end the show with that where I'll take your questions. So I want you to jot down my email. It's been this way for 20 plus years. It's just Jorge, J-O-R-G-E, at jorgecruise.com. Super simple. You can email me anytime. If it's a podcast question, just put podcast in the subject question, and I will be picking every week someone to answer their question. If you get picked, please include your phone number, email, all that. I'll be calling you. I may have you on the call when I record so you can actually ask your question. If not, I'll read it, and I'll be sending you— we'll be sending you guys a case of Zero Hunger Water before anyone else gets it because it'll be coming out at the end of this year, and we have a couple options of blood orange, cola flavor, and lemonade. I'll tell you more about Zero Hunger Water later. It has become my passion. It is truly the culmination of my entire career, and our show is really fueled by Zero Hunger Water because for me, I shoot this show in a fasted state. I do everything in a fasted state because I only eat once a day. You guys know how crazy I am, but I— we're going to be talking about how you do that and more important, you get the results that come from not just the weight that comes off, but the longevity and all the passion, in my opinion, that comes from generating a healthy style, a lifestyle. I like to call it a health style that gives you more than it takes from you. And that's what Zero Hunger Water does, and that's what this whole program is hopefully going to be a catalyst for you in your life, to give you the tools you need so you can make incremental changes every single day in your life. And every week you can make a momentous jump forward to a place where you're empowered. So welcome. I want to personally thank you for being here right now. Whether you're on YouTube with me or Spotify or listening on Apple or Google Play, et cetera, wherever Spotify spreads its wings to, we record this at Spotify and regardless of where you're listening or watching from, I want you to make a commitment with me right now. Listen to me, that you this year are going to be your top priority. Your health is going to be your top priority. And I want you to email me today, Jorge, at JorgeCruise.com, your number one goal for your health. Tell me a little bit about yourself, maybe your age, throw in a picture. I'd like to pick a couple stories of people's goals, and I'd like to to follow up with you every couple of months and invite you to some coaching programs that we're going to be doing later in the year as well. But send me an email again. It's Jorge@JorgeCruise.com. If you're interested in sharing your story and your goal, put that in the subject of the email, put in my goal for 2022, and let's make that a reality. Let's start the year with that goal accomplished, whether it's 10, 20 pounds, whether it's to improve the level of inflammation in your body so it lowers and you don't feel in pain and your joints don't hurt, whether it's heart disease, cancer, getting off of medications, being able to walk well again because your knees don't hurt, whatever your goals are, it could be as simple as gardening, dancing, include that to me. Send me that. Send that to me as a picture if you don't mind. And I, and a phone number. I may call you because I love to call people. I'm more of a talker, a speaker, than I'm a writer. Shockingly, right? Even though I'm an author. So with that said, guys, thank you for a wonderful first episode. Welcome to season 4, guys. I'll be back next Thursday and I look forward to your emails. And please remember to live with passion and remember that you can make this happen at any age. All right, guys, peace and purpose. Take good care.
