Drop up to 25 BELLY INCHES with a Christ Consciousness.
3 Aug 2021 · 13 min
In the inaugural episode of the Zero Hunger Guide podcast, host Jorge Cruise introduces a new format that shifts from traditional nutrition advice to a spiritually‑focused strategy for controlling cravings for sugar, carbs, salty snacks, and alcohol. He shares his personal crisis at age 50—divorce, loss of closeness with his teenage sons, failed book projects, deep depression, and substance abuse—that led to a 25‑pound belly increase. Cruise explains how a renewed relationship with Christ, which he frames as "Christ‑consciousness" accessed through daily prayer, gave him the strength to break his nighttime cravings and maintain sobriety. He leads listeners through a guided prayer that asks for divine help to overcome ego‑driven eating, emphasizes progress over perfection, and encourages gratitude. The episode also features sponsor messages for Elemental Labs (Zero Hunger Water) and Primal Kitchen, providing free product offers. Cruise closes by urging listeners to share the podcast, promising future episodes with nutrition content and guest experts, while positioning the spiritual approach as the core tool for radical appetite control.

Good evening, it's August 2nd. I'm Jorge Cruise and welcome to the Zero Hunger Guide podcast. I'm thrilled you're here, guys. This is our all-new launch of the podcast. It's a new format and I'm thrilled you're here right now. This is the place to get radical control over sugar, carbs, and salty snack foods. It's all about getting appetite control at the time you need it the most, which is nighttime for me and for most of my celebrity clients, and hopefully that's you as well. But obviously you can use what we're gonna talk about on today's podcast throughout the day, you can use it tomorrow, you can use it all throughout the week. Hopefully you come back to it and refer to it. I'll tell you what's different though, guys, and I'm thrilled you're here to join me on this re-edition of the podcast, and that is rather than focusing in on nutritional strategies, which I dedicated almost 20 years to, I've written over 30 books on nutrition, and I can tell you that works, but I have discovered something in 2021 that has changed my entire life, my relationship with sugar, carbs, salty snack foods, with alcohol, with substances that at one time were a bit of an addiction to me. What has turned off the ability for me to be drawn into anything, whether it's a bowl of ice cream to a glass of wine, especially at night, has been developing a relationship with Christ. Now, I was raised Catholic. You guys know that, I'm sure. And when I say relationship with Christ, I think of it as a Christ consciousness. That is simple through prayer. So what we're gonna do on this show is through prayer, and I'll be leading you through prayer, and whether you're Catholic like I am, this is something I wear in honor of my mom, or whether you're a Christian or whether you're not, it doesn't matter because it's a power, it's a presence that may be lacking in your life. That is my theory right now. Hear me on this right now, hear me on this. Because if you're someone that has been struggling for years with sugar, carbs, and salty snack foods, and you've tried fiber, counting calories, you've even tried my Zero Hunger Water, guys, you guys know what I'm talking about, but still feel a void inside where you are still hungry, it's truly not a physical hunger, it's an emotional emptiness in your heart. And I can tell you, someone who was raised Catholic and went to Sunday school every day, that was me, I can tell you as much as my experience as a young Catholic man was abusive, I was not happy with it, And I lost my faith in God. I have reclaimed it. And I want you to reclaim your relationship with God, if possible. Christ, I may be calling it that on this show, but just know it can be a presence, it can be God, it could be the universe. It's whatever is a higher presence for you, a higher power for you that you know that you could actually surrender your life to. Now you may be thinking, whoa, Jorge Cruise, what is God and into you? Well, on today's show, I'll start this conversation. All this week, we're gonna talk about what has happened in my life and using some examples, I hope, in my personal life to give you some hope, to give you some strategies on how you can hopefully go through something difficult as well and turn it around, turn a lemon into lemonade through the power of prayer and through a relationship with God. So I hope that makes good sense, guys. I can't wait to get started with you today. Tonight. All right, it's brief. Each show will be under 20 minutes, about 15 minutes, 20 max. But before we get started, I do want to thank our sponsors that have been with us since the very beginning of the Zero Hunger Guide podcast. First, I want to thank Elemental Labs. I love these guys. As you guys know, I'm a big advocate in electrolytes. Zero Hunger Water has been featured in all sorts of magazines. If you guys remember, First Woman magazine featured it. This is a big deal. Zero Hunger Water was also featured in Woman's World magazine. You guys may remember this. And whether you saw these magazine articles or you go to our website, zerohungerwater.com, I want you to know that Elemental Labs is giving all of us, all the podcast listeners or viewers, a box of electrolytes for free. It's a $45 value. You simply need to go to our new URL, zerohungerwater.com. The recipe's there too if you wanna make it at home. But just click on free box and you'll be ready to rock and roll. So check that out, guys. We're also brought to you by Primal Kitchen. Primal Kitchen is brought to you by my mentor in nutrition for over 17 years. His name is Mark Sisson. Mark is not only a dear friend, but he's like a brother, kind of like a dad. I want to say he's a dad, but he's only 17 years older than me and he's in better shape than me, so I'm not going to say that. Just a bigger brother, older brother. And he created Primal Kitchen so he could have a way to turn off hunger when he was eating salads creating any kind of meal where he needed extra fat. It's made with avocado oil, and they're giving us a free bottle of Lemon Chipotle Avocado Mayonnaise, which is absolutely delicious. I'm gonna be making it tonight on, or I'll put a dollop of it on my steak tonight. And I recommend you guys get some of these flavors. They're giving us a free one. So go to the following URL. It's Primal Kitchen, primalkitchen.com/jorgecruise. That's J-O-R-G-E-C-R-U-I-S-E.com. I hope that makes sense, guys. Check them out and please support them as they are supporting us here at the podcast. So with that said, guys, welcome.
It's Monday.
It's the start of August. I love the start of a new month. For me, it's so much more than that though, guys, that you're here right now. I just wanna share with you briefly part of my story of what has happened to me in 2021. In March, I turned 50, and a lot of things have changed in my life coming up to age 50. I have recently parted ways with my partner, And that was hard on me. It really drove in some deep wounds of rejection in my life, and I felt about this tall, if you know, you know what I mean. My ego was dropped down to its knees, never thinking I would get divorced, uh, but that is what's happening. It's still going through the process, uh, alongside with that. And as much as new beginnings are healing, uh, my kids who are teenagers now are getting to the age where they don't hang out with dad or mom anymore, and I'm still very close to my boys, to my sons Parker and Owen, and losing their closeness in my life was just a part of life and growing up as every teenager should. And I just wasn't used to it, so that triggered a little bit of a wound. And then a couple projects that I had for books, as you guys know I've been an author for many years, fell through. And I have written books my entire life. It's how I support my family, and I lost that. And that for me was a trigger where it caused me to go into a deep depression where I was just so unhappy. And I will tell you that unhappiness led me to not just drinking and overeating sugar and carbs and gaining about 25 pounds of belly fat, but also using some substances I'm not proud to say I used, some drugs that took effort to get off of with alcohol. And I can tell you I've been not just sober and recovered now for over 100 and some days, but this recovery has given me a new sense of faith, because the way I did it is through a Christ-conscious plan. It's a spiritual plan, and that plan has given me a strength I've never had in my life. No, uh, no diet plan, no nutritional strategy, not even my Zero Hunger Water can, can level up to the kind of strength I received from going through this plan. And was through prayer and having a relationship with God that gave me the strength that I had lost. And, you know, I honestly, when I ask myself and talk to friends that are on this plan with me, you know, I personally don't think I was ever on a true path, even though I was Catholic since I was a little kid. It's just the childhood, my childhood experiences were so traumatic, shall we say, that that trauma caused me to not really believe in God, you know? And so I lost that faith probably at an early age. So I'm reclaiming it now as a 50-year-old man has given me a sense of freedom. And I wanna give that freedom to you and I wanna share that with you. And as your coach, your spiritual fitness coach, I hope I can do that. I hope I can also share with you simple strategies and nutrition to nudge you in that direction. Definitely pick up Zero Hunger Water. You can get that for free. Remember, you can get a box of it, zerohungerwater.com. But outside of that, I don't wanna dedicate a whole podcast to drinking water or eating high protein, high fat. I've talked about that for many years already. I've written so many books on this topic. What I wanna do with you tonight is take you through a prayer, a simple prayer that will give you a sense of spiritual strength that I think if tonight, this Monday, it's the start of August, you're bored, you're watching TV, somehow this popped up on your screen, whether it's on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Spotify, Apple, wherever you're hearing me or watching me, I have your attention right now, I hope. And I want you to bow your head with me in just a second here. And we're gonna pray to God. I'll lead this through. Now remember, it's something I've not done for my entire life, so, you know, I hope to get better with prayer with your help. Together we can do this. But I think the prayers that I use now in my life have given me so much strength that the addictions I was once pulled towards, including sugar and carbs, no longer call to me. And I have a sense of complete freedom that has given me a sense of joy at night where I can sleep effortlessly without using medical marijuana, for example, or smoking or drinking and not eating carbs at night. I mean, it's just such a blessing. So with that said, guys, let's bow our heads and I'm gonna take you through a simple prayer. Simply say the following with me if you want, or just listen to the words.
Dear God, as we start this Monday night together through the Zero Hunger Guy podcast, let us right now be reminded of your strength, your love, your comfort. Please, God, help direct our thinking, especially that it may be divorced from self-pity, dishonesty, and self-seeking motives. And please, God, give us the mental faculties, the strength, the intelligence to realize that carbohydrates and sugars are something our body does not need and does not make us healthier or younger or better. And help us remember that belly fat, a high waist circumference, God, simply comes from overusing, from being addicted to these sugars and carbs and salty snack foods. And that with your strength, your love, we can have something so much greater, so much better, so much more permanent. But please help us remember that we need to do this daily, that this daily relationship— and it can be hourly for some of us, it may be hourly, we may need to listen to this prayer again and again throughout the evening, but will bring a calm in our heart that we need, God, that we can only get from your support, your love, your wisdom. Please, we pray that you specially free us from self-will and that we are careful really to remember that self-will is ego and that if we are feeling a sense of hunger, let it pass. Let our ego not force us to eat a sugar and carbohydrate. Let our self-will be retired. May we pause for a moment and let you, God, humbly enter our hearts. And more importantly, give us the strength to make smart decisions and give us the strength to make every day better than the last.
And that it's all about progress and not perfection if we do make a mistake.
Thank you, God, so much for your support and your love this evening.
Amen. So with that said, guys, this prayer, listen to it again if you need to. I now pray every single day. I raise, or get out of bed, rise up, I should say. I have prayer from gratitude and just saying thank you, God, for another day, to thanking God for the sun, to my breath. An attitude of gratitude, as Oprah Winfrey taught me years ago, is so powerful. And I would suggest that to you right now, this gratitude in your heart and this new adventure we're going to begin. We'll be back tomorrow night. I'll be here tomorrow night for you as well. But please share tonight's podcast, this podcast, with your loved ones. Copy and paste the link, put it into your feed, whether it's Facebook, your Pinterest, Instagram, wherever it is. Reshare this and please text it to loved ones and say, Jorge is restarting his podcast, and it's got a different perspective. And remember, it's also nutrition. We're going to talk about that in certain shows. We'll have guests on the shows. This weekend we're going to have a great guest that you guys are going to love. Um, but the core of what I want to do with you now is not so much nutrition, but it is this spiritual awakening. And I hope it'll be something that will give you a strength and a power that will give you that radical control over those carbs. And you're gonna love it, guys. So with that said, as always, peace and purpose. Take good care.
