i did 10,000 steps everyday for 2 weeks! (toned stomach?)

In this vlog, Julia Fedorin documents a self‑imposed 14‑day challenge to walk at least 10,000 steps each day during quarantine. She begins by admitting a recent period of inactivity and decides to use the extra free time for a fitness goal. The video walks through each day, noting specific activities (full‑body workouts, walks, runs, bike rides, and a final dance session), step counts, calories burned, and how she met or missed the target. She highlights the use of tools like Sydney Cummings’ workout video and the Zombie Run app, and she shares the physical sensations of soreness, mood swings, and growing endurance. On days 8‑9 she falls short due to leg soreness, but she rebounds by incorporating more running and biking. The final day she discovers dancing as a fun alternative to achieve step goals when motivation is low. The vlog concludes with a “physique update” showing any visible changes after two weeks, a reflection on habit formation, and a call to action for viewers to subscribe. Throughout, the tone is conversational, enthusiastic, and candid, with moments of frustration balanced by optimism.

I don't know about you guys, but I've been really lazy recently. Watching Netflix is the only thing I've had in mind these past few days. I'm not even joking when I say I've almost binge-watched all 3 seasons of 13 Reasons Why. My sitting-in-front-of-a-screen nonstop journey is doing pretty well, but my journey to staying active and fit, not so much. I've realized that I haven't really been getting a good amount of steps in, and it's kind of disappointing knowing that I have so much free time and I wasted by sitting on my butt and eating whatever I look at. It's definitely time for a change, so I put myself up for a challenge. Completing 10,000 steps every day for 2 weeks is what this video will be about. Will I see results in my legs, stomach, and overall weight? We will find out. Hi everyone, welcome back to my channel. So by the intro, you already know that for the past 2 weeks I have been walking 10,000 steps every single day, and it was a lot harder than I thought it would be, but I completed it, and I decided to sit down and kind of share what I feel about this challenge and how this challenge helped me. At the end of this video, I will be giving you guys a physique update just to see how much my body changed in a span of 2 weeks. So if you want to skip to it, then you can. The timestamp is right here, but I would really, really appreciate if you guys watch the full video because it is going to be interesting. I have a bunch of notes right here. I took screenshots of the number of steps I took every single day. And I'm also going to be telling you guys what I did to get the number of steps I needed to complete on a daily. So let's get started. I started this challenge on Saturday, April 25th, and it was really sunny outside. So the first thing I decided to do to get this challenge started was go outside and do Sydney Cummings' 60-minute full body sweat workout. I've seen a bunch of people trying her workout on TikTok, and I was like, you know what, it burns a lot of calories, and there's also a lot of moving in the workout, so I could get my steps in really easily with her workout. And I did it, it was really good. And then after, I took an hour walk just around my neighborhood, and I also ran for 30 minutes for the first time. I am not a runner, but during this quarantine, I really want to just get my endurance up, and I really want to improve my stamina and just improve my running. Ability because during the gym I barely even ran on the treadmill. So I went on a run for 30 minutes, I burned 206 calories, and the run was like around 3 kilometers, so pretty good. And that was day 1. On day 1, I had a total of 15,000 steps, almost 16,000 steps, past the goal I needed to achieve. And on day 2, it was a more laid-back day. I only got 11,000 steps, which is still good. I mean, it's more than 10,000 steps. I did a few at-home workouts and I took two 1-hour walks just around the neighborhood. I honestly was never a walker too, you know what? But now after this challenge, I'm a lot better at like walking, I guess, a lot better at running, and I do it more often because, you know, I'm kind of built a habit of doing it, so that's really good. And then on day 4, I went on another 45-minute run, this time with my sister. I burned 240 calories, pretty good. And I also, I got in 3 kilometers of running, a lot better than last time. I also then went on a late night walk before bed, and I got in around almost 11,000 steps. That's really, really good. On day 5, I went on 2 walks, and I got almost 11,000 steps as well. On day 5, I got a 5-day streak of walking 10,000 steps. On day 6, I— it was a Thursday and I was not feeling it. I had a lot of school and I just didn't really feel like doing anything. So I kinda did all the walking last minute. I got in almost 12,000 steps, that's pretty good. On day 7, I did a few at-home workouts and, you know, I was kinda slacking off the majority of the day, but I had no choice. I couldn't really slack off because I was doing a challenge, so I took a long late-night walk again. Hey guys, so it's around 10 o'clock and I'm just walking back home from a quick walk I just took. So yeah, as you can see, it's really dark outside. There's no one here. 10,015 steps. I barely, I barely made it. I barely made it, but I did, so that's good. Day 8 and 9, I barely got— for the past, for the 2 days, I actually did not get 10,000 steps. I only got 8,000 steps. Which sucks, but I just couldn't do it. I really could not do any physical activity because my whole body, or my legs specifically, were so, so sore. After the bike ride, I was really sore. So yeah, for 8 and 9, even though I did some physical activity, I still didn't get 10,000 steps. But that's okay. I know I feel like with this challenge, I mean, no one's perfect, and you're always gonna have some days where you just don't feel like doing anything, and that's totally fine. Anyway, so for day 10, so yeah, day 10, I was slowly getting into the habit of running every single day, and you know, without the gym, I really needed to find other ways to stay active, so we were running almost every single day, and that's how I mostly got the majority of my steps in. I went on a 45-minute long-distance run on day 10, and my family and I also went on another bike ride. But yeah, on day 10, I got 10,000 steps, 10,495 steps, so I'm getting back on track. My legs weren't as sore. And I also actually, I also used Zombie Run, an app where, I don't know, there's like a storyline and you basically listen to the story and you're running and you're kind of pretending you're in a zombie apocalypse and you're kind of just getting away from zombies and you have to run as fast as you can. It was just like a way to get you more motivated to actually run. So I used that app and I got in a total of 45 minutes of running and I burned around like 200 calories. Really good. On day 11, my sister and I went on another long-distance run, and we went on almost an hour— an hour of running. That's crazy. I've never done an hour of running before. I don't remember doing it. I'm not a long-distance runner, so it was crazy to see how much I increased during this whole challenge, how much my running ability has improved. I got 11,000, almost 12,000 steps on day 11. Pretty good. On day 12, I went on a 30-minute walk and then we went on another run. So again, super repetitive. Every single day I went on either walking or running. That's really only— the only thing I could do to get my steps in. So you guys, I just finished running for 40 minutes. It was pretty exhausting. I'm back home and as you can see, I'm very sweaty. I'm really red and It's been a good run. I have around 7,000 steps, so it's really good, and it's only 3 o'clock, so I'm winning. I went on almost a 4-kilometer run, burned 254 calories, and at the end of the day, I got in almost 50,000 steps. Pretty good. On day 13, my family, or my dad and my sister and I, we decided to go on a crazy long bike ride. We were riding our bike for an hour and 3 minutes and we got in a 15-kilometer bike ride. Oh my gosh, I kid you not, I was sweating after it. Hey guys, oh my gosh, I'm so sweaty. My back is really sweaty too. So I actually just came back from a 10-kilometer bike ride. Took us an hour. Crazy, crazy. I burned around like 600 calories. It's so insane. Oh my gosh, honestly, bike rides are so much more fun than running. During this sweater, and I was sweating like under armpits, in my back, and just everywhere. It was so crazy, so crazy. I burned like 700 calories. I burned 700 calories just riding a bike, and it felt like it was so fun. It didn't really feel like a lot of work. It was just so enjoyable, but I burnt so many calories, so it's really good. And the steps that I got in was around 10,000 steps, but still I passed it. And then on day 14, last day, finally, this time we went on a 10-kilometer bike ride and I burned 600 calories. 10 kilometers in 50 minutes. It was fun, it was fun, really fun. And I got in 11,000 steps, Almost 12,000 steps. Awesome. But here's, here's the problem. I kind of show you guys, showed you guys all the positives, but it was not easy at all. And actually on like day 13, I'm pretty sure I was like 13 or 14. I just felt really discouraged. I felt really unmotivated. Everything irritated me for some reason. I was really in a really bad mood. And it's funny because in this quarantine I kind of set a goal of just staying positive no matter what. Keeping a positive attitude, keeping a positive mindset. But just on day 14, I was really, really off, and no matter how hard I tried, I was really in a bad mood. So, and I still had like 5,000 steps, so I really just needed to get steps, but I wasn't in the mood to do so. So I decided to do something fun, and that was dancing. I went on TikTok, I searched up a bunch of different shuffle dance tutorials, and I just started dancing. It felt really, really good. I mean, all the stress kind of just exited my body. It was a really fun thing, and I didn't have to go on a jog. I didn't have to walk. All it took for me to get those 10,000 steps was to dance, and I love dancing. I love dancing so much, and it was a fun way. And throughout this challenge, I realized that there's more you could do than just walking or running to get thousands of steps. You can do something you love, and for me, it's dancing. As funny as it sounds, I've learned a lot about myself throughout this challenge. I— if I'm in a bad mood, I can just dance it out. It was a crazy challenge, and I love it. I'm gonna continue walking every single day. I'm gonna continue running every single day, and it's gonna be really fun. Now I will show you guys my physique update, how my body looks after the challenge. Let's go! Okay guys, thank you so much for watching this video.
