Julia Fedorin tests eight underrated fitness YouTubers and finds most deliver solid workouts, though some mislead with calorie claims. No Bad Addiction's HIIT promised 1,000 calories but delivered 400. Selimar earns praise as a "queen of glute workouts" for heavy dumbbell work.

The first workout I'm starting off with is from the channel No Bad Addiction. If you watched my other videos, you would know I've done a ton of their workouts before, and I really appreciate their effectiveness and simplicity. I've been following them ever since they had around 30,000 subscribers, and now they have over 100,000, which is pretty insane growth. The workout I did today was to burn 1,000 calories full body HIIT. Coming to this workout, I was expecting it to be pretty advanced, but it actually wasn't too hard. There wasn't a lot of jumping involved. All the moves were pretty low impact, but because it was 60 minutes, I still ended up feeling tired and sweaty at the end. Positives aside, the one thing I'm not a huge fan of is how misleading many of their titles are. With this workout, for instance, people are expecting to burn 1,000 calories, but I burned nowhere near that number. While I do understand including calories can bring more engagement and views, I don't think the best way to approach working out. Exercise should feel accomplishing, and if you're focusing on just calories burned, you might never feel satisfied enough. Wow, you guys, 360 jumps are kind of hard. Ow, I kind of stubbed my toe. Nonetheless, this is still a very great workout, and I definitely recommend you guys check it out. So I finished the workout. I felt the moves were mostly pretty simple. There wasn't anything advanced in this workout, but I did sweat. However, I only I only burned 400 calories. So they said 1,000 calories, obviously misleading title. It's nowhere near 1,000 calories, but hey, it was still a really good workout. The next workout I did was from the channel Selimar and focused on the booty. This is the second time I'm doing one of her workouts ever, and I definitely should be doing more of them often since this workout was such a killer on my glutes, quads, hamstrings, literally my whole lower body. It's been a hot minute since I've done a proper lower body workout with heavy dumbbells, so this was a great intro back to weightlifting. We're only a few minutes in and I'm already so sweaty and my glutes are literally on fire right this instance. Kind of crazy, but it's really good so far. Fun fact, Selimar actually commented on part 1 of this video, which is super cool. If you're watching this right now, Selimar, hi! I hope you like this review. Congrats on your insane growth. Okay, so officially right now I've come to the conclusion that Selimar is the queen of glute workouts alongside Caroline Gervin. She has the best ones on YouTube in my opinion. Third workout I'm doing is by Rachel Golota, and it's a burn 500 calories 30-minute cardio workout. This is another calories in the title workout, but hey, I'm not complaining. If you were to look at it from a marketing standpoint, putting calories in the title seems to really capture a viewer's attention, as this workout has over 2 million views. We're literally just jumping up and down. The workout itself was very basic. 50% of the moves were just jumping up and down and running on the spot. It was very much cardio-based, and if you're looking for a low-impact workout that will get you a lot of steps, then this is for you. We're playing basketball now, that's fun. I also had to play my own music for this just because the music in the video didn't keep me engaged. It was very slow and it reminded me of study music, which just doesn't mix well with exercising. What I did like was the rest periods were set up differently. Instead of having a rest after each move, there was a 1-minute stretch break after 3 to 4 moves. This made the workout a teensy bit challenging even though it was only 30 minutes. Penny Barnshaw, also known as Garage Fitness Girl, such an underrated YouTuber. Her workouts are so professional, she gives me growing in an plus Caroline Girvin vibes, giving us a ton of HIIT workouts but also a ton of strength training. The best of both worlds, really. You can find any type of workout on her channel. Today I'm doing her HIIT kettlebell 45-minute workout. Ever since I got dumbbells, I haven't used my kettlebell, so it's nice to be able to reintroduce it back into my workouts. I really only have good things to say about Penny. The music is great, the moves are just how I like them— not challenging but at the same time nowhere near easy— and the whole vibe she gives off is a positive one. This workout was probably one of the hardest ones I've done this week, but it was also super fun and it went by really quickly. Definitely did not feel like 45 minutes at all. So we finished the workout. That was so hard. This is probably by far the most challenging workout I've done this week. Oh, and by the way, you guys, super random, but I'm taking off my braces today. So this is the last time you're gonna see me with braces on. Super excited but kind of nervous too. I want to thank Soundcore for sponsoring today's video. I've been using their Life A2NC earbuds for over a week now, and let me just say, they're super great. These earbuds are water resistant, have good sound super clear calls, they charge as fast as 10 minutes, and overall they're super secure fitting and very comfortable on the ears. But wait, my favorite thing about these earbuds is their noise canceling. So whether you're studying in crowded environments, walking through loud cities, or just want to focus without distractions, these earbuds are great for that. I've been using these while editing my videos, watching K-dramas or YouTube videos, going on walks, runs, or just doing chores around the house, and they've been keeping me super productive. And look, all this comes with a very affordable price of under $100. So these earbuds by Soundcore are definitely worth checking out. Okay, now let's get back to the video. All the fitness channels I've shared so far are channels I've done workouts from many times before, but Girl with Joe is a channel I just discovered a couple days ago while scrolling through YouTube. Now I was honestly expecting this workout to be super chill. We're just punching, jabbing, and crossing, nothing much. But oh boy, this workout brought back memories of when I did karate. At karate, we would always have super fast intense moves, and I would always be dripping in sweat. And this workout gave me the same experience. It's only been a few minutes and I'm already sweaty. From now on, this is probably going to be my go-to workout whenever I need a big sweat, and I mean super big sweat. It's just so effective, yet it doesn't have any burpees, lunges, squat jumps, or any other movements I would rather not do. I also really loved how we were basically moving throughout the whole workout. Even during the rest, I was jogging. Because of this, I got 40,000 steps in. I don't remember the last time I did a workout with that many steps involved, it's actually pretty cray cray. So you can definitely replace a walk with this workout, especially if it's raining or cold outside. Loved it, loved it, loved it a million times. Today's workouts were from a YouTuber named Mary Bryan. She has similar workouts to Sammy Clark, which I reviewed in part 1 of this video. Both of their workouts are super beginner-friendly and low impact. Mary's workouts are workouts I would probably do during my active rest day or as a cool down after my actual workout session. Because these workouts are super, super simple, I added my ankle weights, which really upped the difficulty by a lot. They especially made the ab workouts so hard. If you have ankle weights, then definitely use them when you do ab exercises for that extra burn. Overall, nothing much to say. I don't really see any spark to these workouts. As someone who has been doing Caroline Girvin's Epic Heat, these workouts cannot compare to that program. I feel like I'm not stepping outside of my comfort zone or challenging myself when I do Mary's workouts. Nonetheless, she seems like a super positive and encouraging person, but her workouts are just not my cup of tea. Next up, I'm doing Olivia Olivia's Workout. Now she is one of the most underrated YouTubers on this list with only 25,000 subscribers, but the thing is she makes really high quality workouts and I'm super surprised as to why she doesn't have more. Her titles, her thumbnails, and just her overall filming location speaks professional. The one thing that caught my eye is all her workouts really remind me of Anna's workouts from Growing in a Nasa. So if you like Anna's workouts, then you're most definitely gonna like Olivia's workouts. Now this 40-minute full body no repeat workout was really fun. I really like the music, all the moves were bearable, and she also added added in a few ab exercises, which is great. I like workouts that incorporate ab moves. They kind of act as rest periods for me since you're on the ground doing them. I also like that this HIIT workout only had one set of lunge jumps. Lunge jumps are by far my most least favorite move, so I'm really glad she took a pause on those. I'm a cold stepper, you should know better. I'm ending off the week and this challenge with another lower body session with dumbbells, this time from the channel Fitness_KK. I wasn't going to add in an 8th workout, but this video just popped onto my recommendation page, and just by the title and thumbnail, this workout caught my attention straight away. This workout also focuses on supersets, which is something a little different since most of the workouts I did were no repeat. And also the music was top-notch, so I had no choice but to do it. Even though this was a lower body strength workout, my whole body was lit on fire. I swear I'm gonna be sore tomorrow, I can just feel it. Alongside Olivia, she's one of the other most underrated YouTubers from this video with only 40,000 subscribers, but I have a feeling she's gonna blow up soon as a lot of her workouts replicate workouts you could be doing at the gym. And almost all her videos are 30 minutes plus, so if you like long workouts, you're gonna find a ton of those on her channel. I hope after watching this video you have discovered some new workout channels to add to your fitness journey. This is how I ranked all the YouTubers. If I could, I would give them all first place as they all have their unique features and setup. Yes, some are most certainly easier than others. Nonetheless, each YouTuber is inspiring and empowering, and they're all showing us that you can have a good workout anywhere despite your circumstances.
