life of a uni student, but she prioritizes her side quests :p

In this vlog, Julia Fedorin takes viewers through a full week of her life as a university student who deliberately places her side‑quests—content creation, video editing, and personal projects—above traditional coursework. She begins the week by planning a chaotic yet structured schedule in Google Calendar, emphasizing the satisfaction she gets from a busy agenda. Throughout the days she balances workouts (6 km runs, rowing erg sessions), commuting challenges (ION train strikes, bus rides), and academic duties (quizzes, a French oral assignment). A large portion of the vlog focuses on her creative workflow: posting BuildSpace update #4 across Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn; editing a Socratica documentary (outline, audio selection, intro construction); and handling other video projects like an Euphoria‑themed makeup‑night edit. She also participates in a film‑club audition, showcases her favorite campus study spot with ample chargers and a large monitor, and reflects on academic performance (70 % quiz score). The latter part of the week highlights her editing process in DaVinci Resolve, including complex node setups and color grading, before winding down with family time, a boba run, and a relaxing weekend. The vlog blends conversational narration, on‑the‑fly voice‑overs, and occasional interjections from friends, illustrating her multitasking lifestyle and the mindset of treating side‑quests as valuable career‑building experiences.

Hello guys, I'm back for another video. I didn't think I'd be back again. Just kidding. I knew that. I like have a goal to post a lot more frequently on here, try to post at least 2 times a month. And this video is going to be really exciting because I'm going to be taking you guys along a week in my life as a university student. But she prioritizes her side quests over her classes. I feel like my side quests, they are a lot more useful for what I want to do in the future. So like content creation, like video making, and I just have so much more fun doing those. School for me is like— I just don't want to be in school right now. But yeah, so I'll take you guys along a week of my life. Sundays is like more of a chill day. I like to plan out how my week is gonna look like. So right now I'm just gonna go and kind of have a structure in my calendar, Google Calendar. Probably things are probably gonna change, but I'll look at my classes I have to take, the things I need to complete, and I'll structure my Google Calendar. After an hour of trying to organize the schedule, I have a rough outline of what I want my week to look like. And honestly, I'm actually super, super glad I'm implementing this and working on it this, like, today instead of Monday. Because honestly, like, prepping for the whole week on Sundays is such a good idea, and I haven't been doing that, but I want to start doing this more. If you have a rough idea of what you want things to look like, it's just going to be easier to, like, to kind of go about your day, and it's going to be easier to, like, prioritize stuff. Uh, so let me just show you. This is what it's looking like right now, super chaotic, which I freaking love. I love when my schedules are super busy and chaotic because it just makes me feel, like, really, yeah, really happy. As long as I have a good outline of how I think things will look like, that I am all set for the week. So yeah, now let's go and do a little quick workout. It's been a productive day so far. I finished doing my workout. I ended up going on almost a 6K run, and then I came home, I showered a bit, and then now I'm just working on BuildSpace update number 4. I have the Socratica documentary sneak peek edited, so I will post that for number 4 update onto Instagram and Twitter and probably LinkedIn. So I'll do that right now.
You can see the way things are and how it drives me mad. And how about you stop insisting that it's not so bad? You take this for granted.
Now that's Okay, so I just posted Build Space update number 4 on Instagram, and I'm just creating a story for it, and I'll post it on Twitter as well, and maybe later on I'll post it on LinkedIn. I don't know, I feel like I could always like be super judgmental with my work, and it's like not the best best, but it's okay. Like, I'm sure, I'm sure the full thing will look a lot better.
Though we may not quite agree, it's never too late to change. I find it hard to believe things are just better this way. Though I may say it, I just think that I might have to spell it out for you. So listen here, I want this all to be crystal clear. Oh, I care about you more than life. This feeling I feel is felt deep in my heart. And my chance, if you feel just a bit of the same, then come over, baby, stop playing this game.
Usually I challenge myself not to walk, but I'm gonna be doing a longer run today, and I also don't want to overwork myself since it's only been week 2. Hello, hello guys! So I just got dressed. I'm wearing these jeans, this top that I've been really loving, and this sweater because it's like a little bit raining outside, so it's a little— maybe it's a little chilly. But I just finished my morning routine. I went on a run, which is really good, and then I showered. I ate some breakfast, and now I'm ready to head to campus. I'm going to be going on the ION train. I'm going to drive there and then head on the ION train. We're a little bit behind schedule. I should be in school right now. I should be in school at like 10, but I'm not. Um, that's okay, that's okay. We will still make it. So yeah, anyways, let's, let's go to class. I'll bring you guys along.
That is, if you don't mind. I have been thinking of you all this time.
I'm in the car right now, you guys. I don't know how safe this is, but I'm gonna do a little voiceover while driving. Hopefully the camera doesn't fall.
Reversing.
Yeah, this camera is going to fall, you guys, for sure. Yeah, it is dangerous. Okay, happens every time, guys. The ION train is is constantly on strike, constantly.
Two iron gates.
So I'm going to be taking the bus instead.
Pacing around my room in my dad. Crazy, crazy. I want you to know what you have against me. The city is not the place for us to be. Cause I'm trying to figure out why you hate me. Was it something I did? Yeah, I don't need to offend. I'm just waiting, I'm just waiting because of all of the lies. Yeah, you don't need to disguise your face, your face. I just want you.
I just woke up. It's the next day, it's Tuesday. It is 10:22 right now. It's been raining for a long time now, so I set my alarm for 7:00 AM. You guys know how this week I wanted to wake up at 7 AM, and I woke up at 7, but I was like so freaking tired. I was like, you know what, I don't have any classes I have to get to, I don't have to be anywhere this morning, so I'm just gonna sleep a little bit more. And then I end up sleeping for like so many more hours. Today's the kind of day where you just want to stay at home all day and watch movies in your room, but of course we gotta start doing some work. So I just finished having breakfast, and now I'm gonna be working on some school. Oh my gosh, guys, I got 70% on my quiz, the one I thought I failed. I literally thought I was going to get like a 50. That's insane. Look at me go! And this is like a quiz where you had to like memorize stuff. There was like no, uh, no like open book, no anything. Okay guys, so I just finished working on my description post. Now I'm time to do the quiz. And now it's time to do a workout. Today we are going to be erging. I got this erg because I was a part of the rowing team last year. I am not going to be doing rowing anymore, unfortunately, just because I have other priorities, and rowing is a really big commitment. So now I just have an erg, and I'm just gonna be like doing my own workouts without actually training for like for races. Just finished brushing my teeth. Usually after I eat something, I like to use a Waterpik to kind of like floss and then also brush my teeth. I know like I've heard somewhere that it's like like not the best to brush your teeth right after eating, but I do it anyways sometimes. But yeah, I did just have some food and I'm feeling all satiated, and now I'm probably gonna continue editing the documentary. It's honestly all I, I can do today, I feel like. So I've been working on the intro and this is how it looks like so far. And so now I'm about to head to campus. I have a film club meeting today. It's every single Tuesday. Today we're doing auditions for some of the short films that our members have— are making, or whatever, like our team is making. And I'm really excited for that. Um, this is going to be the fit. I'm probably just going to wear these, these just jeans and then this shirt, and I'm going to bring sweater. But in general, the overview of how so far today was looking like—
pretty good.
I got some schoolwork done, I got some documentary stuff done, and more chill day because I didn't have to be on campus all day today.
But yeah, I couldn't read it and I couldn't hear it.
Good morning everyone! So just woke up. It is a little bit dark outside. This like week has been like so rainy and so gloomy. I just got dressed. I'm wearing this like really nice business casual outfit. My class doesn't start until 10, so I'll probably just gonna— I'll be working at my usual work area, which I'll show you guys a tour of. I haven't been there in a very long time, but It's like my go-to study spot. Then after that, after class, after we work on the chair, I'm going to go grab some lunch. And yeah, should be pretty, pretty fun day. I'm super excited. A hot dog, uh, and then someone says hickory. Hello guys, so this is the location, work area I was talking about. As you can see, it's pretty, it's very nice, lots of things happening, lots of desktops, monitors. There's like a workshop area in the back and you can see it's very empty right now Spring term, summer term has been super quiet and chill. Not a lot of people are here. I heard during the fall term it is pretty busy, so I'm trying to take advantage of this area while it's very, very empty. But what I really like about this spot is that I can just like leave all my stuff here and I can just like go places without carrying my huge backpack with my heavy laptop. I can just like, yeah, leave stuff here. I love it for that reason. And also there's like really great chargers. Because on campus it can be hard to find outlets charging for your computer. So yeah, it's all set up. You can see this is a huge monitor. It's actually— I think it's like maybe slightly bigger than the one I have at home. But I will begin doing some editing. I still have like an hour left, so, before class, so we are good. So a little progress with the documentary. I feel like I haven't really talked much about what's been happening with the documentary so far. So this week I'm really trying to nail down like the outline, the story outline of how the documentary is going to look like. So right now I'm currently working on the intro for it, and what I'm doing is I'm just watching lots of like inspo on YouTube of like ways to format an intro or like just ways to edit a documentary. Just to kind of get some more inspiration for that. I'm also trying to— I'm gonna also search for a really good audio to start for the beginning. Audio is like, I feel like, such a big part to, to telling a story, so I have to make sure to find a really good audio for the beginning. And then yeah, I'll try to get the doc— the intro finished today, and I'll just start putting things together, and hopefully it starts flowing a lot better because right now there's just like a bunch of random footage and there's like no cohesive story. I also just finished submitting this like French oral assignment that I had to do. I did not put any effort into that because I could care less about French at this point. The exam is coming up soon, August 10th, and I'm honestly like prepared to, to like get cooked, to, to fail it, or at least, I don't know, I feel like I shouldn't say that, but I'll try to pass it. I just want to pass the class at this point. But yeah, anyways, this class has just started. So I'm probably going to head out right now and work on the chair. And then after that, I will go have some lunch because I haven't ate today yet. So I just finished up with some editing and now I am headed to Freshies. Yeah, could I get a, a peri-peri fusion?
Peri-peri fusion.
Julia Fedorin.
And actually, your first order.
No way!
Yeah, wait, that's so exciting! Awesome, thank you so much. Does it come with a sauce?
Oh yeah, yeah, I had actually more sauce on it.
Oh, you know what, what sauce is it?
Peri-peri.
Oh, it's a new, new sauce actually.
Cool, cool.
Okay, thank you so much.
If you want more of the sauce, just let me know, I can add it for you.
Thanks so much.
Thank you.
Okay guys, I got I got the bowl. It looks so freaking delicious. I'm so excited to taste it. So there's sweet potato, there's avocado, there's some chicken, there's feta cheese, there's corn, and there's pumpkin seeds, sweet potato. There's just so many toppings.
Shh.
Let's give it a go. Oh my gosh, guys, this is incredible. Guys, this is the freaking best. Like, I'm having such a good time right now. Oh my gosh.
Say hi.
I was just gonna say I'm just here at the co-working session for Surprise.
Yeah, then—
Oh, the camera, I can't see it. No, then you're looking down.
Okay.
That'd be something really, really cool that I'd want to do one day. Enjoy most about this experience of being a speaker?
Yay!
Awesome, first part done. Awesome, such good responses. You're such a natural, like you're just such a natural.
That's amazing.
I forgot to grab something to eat before this run, like just something small for energy. I'm feeling it, like I'm feeling like the low energy, feeling like I just need something in my stomach. Like even just like honey or like something to spike up my sugar levels. There's no way I'm running up that hill, guys. So insane. I just finished my run and now it's time to have some breakfast before I start work. I have this gluten-free toast that my mom got. And the first, I have one with brie because you guys, I am obsessed with brie cheese. So freaking good. And the other one is with peanut butter and honey. And then I also have some almond milk for the drink. I just finished eating breakfast and now it's time to finally start working. So today I'm taking a pause on editing the Socratica documentary and I have to edit some other things. So a few weeks ago I filmed attend a makeup night at my university. It was Euphoria themed, and so today I'm going to be editing that video because I want to post it for them tomorrow, hopefully, or if I finish it today. And I'll start editing the interview I filmed yesterday. So yeah, full-on editing day, but we're mixing things up. Definitely recommend you have at least like 1 to 2 projects that you're working on, so if one gets boring then you can switch to the next and vice versa and go back and forth. So that's what I'm doing with this, um, with this one. I'm taking pause on the documentary. I love it, I love editing the documentary, but I'm going to edit some other stuff. Last thing I want to talk about is the editing process. So how I go about the beginning stages of editing, because once you have all the footage, like, what's next? The main thing I do before, like, starting to edit, or like when I'm beginning to edit, is I choose an audio to help with the edit, because an audio can bring so much inspiration to any piece of content you create. So when I have the audio set in stone, everything becomes easier because you can match the clips to the beat. Your audio pretty much becomes like— becomes the baseline to everything. Guys, I'm listening to some Euphoria music and oh my gosh, I'm actually like getting goosebumps. This is insane. Like Might have to play around with some of the music, but looking good. I'm really excited for this edit. It's gonna be dope, and I'm gonna be using DaVinci that just is not responding. Yay guys, I finished editing! Well, no, I finished the base of editing just in time for dinner. I'm gonna go eat dinner with my family, and then after that I will most likely continue. I just have to color grade and and add some more effects, and I'll be good to post it today. Let's go swimming! It's gonna be so cold, but I haven't swam this summer yet, so let's go swimming. So you guys, it's been a few hours ever since I came back from the lake, and I've just been editing the whole time. I've been actually color grading the whole time. It took me 3 hours to color grade this 30-second or like 30-second video. And I've been watching like tutorials on how to do like recreate the look of Euphoria. I have so many nodes. I've never used this many nodes before in DaVinci, guys. This is like first time and I'm so proud of myself. I've like learned so much. I've literally learned so much and I'm like, I'm just so happy with the result. It looks so good. It looks like it's from a movie, guys. I don't want to hype myself up too much, but I did it. I genuinely did it. Guys, I just finished the workout. It was, it was okay. It wasn't as intense. I feel like maybe because I didn't try, like I didn't put in 100% effort into it. Like the last few minutes were definitely like killer, but yeah, it was a nice 35-minute workout. Hey everyone, it is Saturday and I was planning on ending the vlog yesterday, but today I'm doing some fun relaxing. So I had a super great productive week and my form of relaxation is going on— going for a boba run, going grab boba and just like spending time with family. We're gonna go take a walk with them and just drink some boba. It's gonna be really great, so I'll take you guys along. Peach. QQ peach green tea. Inside.
Okay, okay.
QQ peach green tea. What kind of tea is that? I don't know, let's just see. Is this a Okay guys, so review. This is the strawberry matcha with milk foam. It's, um, 30% sugar and ice. And my review is it's a little too sweet for me. I can taste the matcha which is good. Sister's drink, she got peach oolong green tea, peach green tea with coconut jelly and boba. Now let's go take a walk.
