Do you guys see this? It's actual sand. I'm sorry, I'm freaking out, but this is like so unreal. Good morning everyone! So today is a Sunday and today I decided to go hiking to the mountain we have here and it's called Mount Douglas and I've heard lots of good things about it and it's so pretty and it seems like fairly easy, like beginner hike, which is really good because I'm really new to hiking, I feel like, by myself. I mean, I've hiked with my family but by myself this is my first time, so I'm really excited. I have some breakfast, I just cleaned cleaned my room a little bit, and I'm about to start packing for the hiking trip. It is 10:18, so still in the morning, which is really good because I want to spend there almost all day. And I'm actually about to go and make some lunch. I'm gonna bring some lunch because I definitely need to be hungry, and I don't want to buy anything, so I'm gonna make some, some good healthy meal, and we're gonna head out. I'm really, really excited, guys. I can't wait to see the beautiful views. And today it's like pretty clear outside too, so it's a perfect day. I just hopped off my last bus and now I'm walking to Mount Douglas. It's about a 30-minute walk to the trail so it's going to be really exciting and then I'll start the actual hike. But yeah, getting here was super quick. I just went on 2 buses and like the routes were just so fast. Hey guys, so I'm about to enter the trail. I have my GPS and everything on my phone and I just got my big tripod out on this camera and I have my smaller tripod and the phone mount and I have my GPS right here. So how it's gonna work is I'm gonna be filming on both and alternating. So I'm gonna be filming for my Instagram reel and I'm gonna be filming for YouTube. This is gonna be like a content hike, so I'm gonna be focusing on just like filming everything. And then next time I come here, it's just gonna be more relaxed and more like kind of enjoying everything. But today it's all about getting all the shots. And yeah, let's Let's go! I'm on top of Mount Douglas. It took me about 30 minutes to hike up here, but a little longer because I was stopping like every single like few minutes to film all the shots. And I think I got a lot of great footage. Guys, this is insane! I hiked my first mountain all by myself. I didn't lose anything, I didn't break anything, I didn't trip or fall. This is definitely a success. Plus, the weather outside is perfect today. The sky is so clear. In front of me, I can see the Olympic Mountains. They're on the US side, but they're white snowy mountains, and you can see the white tips. I've been wanting to see real mountains for such a long time, and I can finally say I did. I think this is the closest I'm going to get this time around, but I'm really excited in the future to hopefully get a little closer. I'm gonna be just sitting here, I'm gonna read a book, have some lunch, and just have a really good time. It's so relaxing. I'm still freaking out, guys. This is sick. I also made myself some stir-fry. Um, it's not that warm anymore, but let's actually— it looks kind of weird, but pretty much it's scrambled eggs with some vegetables and some chicken and a lot of sriracha sauce. Hello! I know, it's incredible. My first time here. Amazing. Yeah. Okay guys, so I packed everything up and I'm ready to go back home. I think I'm just— yeah, leaving just in time. The sun is already setting and today was such a good successful day. Thank you so much for joining me on this Mount Douglas adventure. We're going to be doing something really fun next, so stay tuned. See you later. Good morning everyone, I am in the city downtown. It's Saturday and I'm going to be filming all day today. It's so nice outside, you guys. I'm actually finally wearing my spring jacket today. It's literally like really warm. Crazy, doesn't feel like it's still January, but I'm so grateful to be seeing the sun. It's been out almost every single day, which is insane because like Victoria and just like BC in general is very— it's known for like a lot of gloomy weather in the winter. But it really does feel like spring is coming really quick, so I'm really grateful for that. We're just going to be exploring the whole city. I have places I want to visit. Don't have like any big plans though. I do want to go to Chinatown today, so I will take you guys along with me to that. I have a restaurant in mind that I want to try. There's like this dim sum, I really want to give it a go. And there's also some boba and maybe some desserts and other treats. And so yeah, today's going to be just exploring the city day. It's also my birthday weekend, so I thought I'd just like treat myself a little bit more. But yeah, let's get started, let's go exploring! So guys, I'm near the water and in front of me there's water taxis, which is something I saw on YouTube when I was searching up Victoria. These water taxis, you can just ride them and They're like really cool. Anyway, something very funny happened. I was like walking with my big, big-ass tripod and then I saw one of my colleagues from work and it was so funny. Like, it was so funny. They got to see me in my element. But yeah, it was hilarious. I was like holding a big tripod and they're like, "What are you doing?" I'm like, "Just recording videos." But yeah, anyways, super nice. We're gonna go closer to the water now. It's crazy, it's so pretty. Oh my gosh, like people say that in the summer usually there is— it's filled with tourists. So I'm filming, I'm here in a period where it's pretty calm and pretty empty, a lot more locals than tourists. Also, I'm like wearing literally work clothes, which which is actually kind of weird. I'm wearing dress pants and my work shoes. I just don't have clothes. Look at guys, I don't really have like enough like cute, like just, you know, going around the city clothes, which I need to buy because it's actually kind of funny. Like, girl, dress pants, are you kidding me? Guys, it looks like you can go, like, you can go on a water taxi. It's open Saturday, Sunday. Scan for a water taxi. There are some people waiting for a taxi already. Wait, damn, wait, I might have to do this. I'll do it after. I'll do it like next time maybe, but it's cool to know. In the distance I can see the Parliament building, and that's, that's where I want to go. That's where I want to check out. So I have to— might have to go around. This is insane. I didn't think I'd find sand here. Oh my God. Oh my gosh, guys, this is actually no joke. Like, I'm actually freaking out right now. What the actual heck? I thought I had to like go somewhere a little further to find some sand. Oh my God, you guys see this? It's actual sand. Oh my God, guys, I'm touching sand. I'm sorry, I'm freaking out, but this is like so unreal. They're like looking at me, they're like, what are you doing? I'm just so shocked. Guys, you can see the mountains from here. Do you see those? Oh my God. So I made it! Editing Julia here. Pretty much what I was saying, because my mic just stopped working, is I initially wanted to go around to get to Parliament Building, but I realized that I wasn't able to do around. I had to like go like back, so I ended up taking the bus to downtown, and then from there I walked to Parliament Building. I wish you could like make a circle, but it's just the island isn't shaped that way. I came to the Parliament Building. It was really nice. You can actually go inside for free, so next time I do that. But yeah. Hey guys, I'm in Chinatown right now and I'm sitting in front of a restaurant called Ding Sum. I heard really good things about it, so I thought I'd go and try it out. There is this special dim sum, like a dim sum special, and I want to try it out. Plus, this is going to be my first time eating in a restaurant all by myself. I'm usually with my parents, so this is going to be really exciting. I'm going to be like on my own. It's going to be so fun. So yeah, let's go inside the restaurant. This is what I want to get right here. Going to be 20. Oh God, okay, that's okay. Okay guys, we're inside. Thank you. Yeah, this is good. Sorry. Thank you. Thank you. Please get a dim sum platter. Yeah. And a Navi. That's it? Yeah. Okay. I think so. You like it? You want a drink from the bar? No, it's okay. Thank you. Okay, so up next I'm gonna have some dessert. I want to get myself a bun, a pineapple bun, and then maybe like a red bean bun. So yeah, let's try some dessert. So the buns I wanted to try were sold out, so I'm gonna try to find another place to have some dessert from. I might go to Bao and get some dessert there, but I'm just gonna like walk around and see if there's anything. Hey guys, so I am out and I got myself two buns. I'll show you guys what they are. One is Nutella and the other one is like a honey one. Hey guys, so I'm back at my favorite boba place. I wanted to get get, um, some like soft serve ice cream at a different boba place, but they were on the machine— like the ice cream machine wasn't working. So I decided to go to this one. I've been here like— this is my third time here. Last time I wanted to get the red bean latte, but it was out. So this time I got it and I'm really excited to try it. Red bean black tea latte sounds really delicious. Give me my last food dessert of the day because guys, I like spent so much money on food today. It's actually not funny. But okay, it's my birthday weekend, so— Texture is a funny one. It's good. Guys, I'm in my office cafeteria, like lunchroom, and I actually like love coming here during the weekends to do some work. Luckily I have a pass, so I can, I can literally like come here anytime, even during the weekends, which is really nice because I love the office so much. It's so beautiful, and I love taking advantage of it when there's no one here. So I'm literally, I think, the only one who does this. I know I said the boba tea was my last dessert, but I really was just craving some sort of like chocolate or like fudge or some kind of like cake, so I bought this Sanaema bar. From the little concession stand over there. I've been like eyeing this for a while now and I love these bars so much and it's been a while since I've tried, um, had one. So yeah, I bought it. Let's, let's give it a go. And I really want some cake for my birthday. Oh my gosh. This is so good. Exactly what I wanted. It hits the spot. And then if I make myself some coffee— oh my gosh, let's go make coffee. I drink decaf now because I find that when I drink real coffee, just like, I get like anxious. So yeah. Oh my gosh, this is amazing. In terms of food, food. All the food was really good. My favorite though was the bao. I would definitely get like more bao next time. I only got the banana one and this Taiwanese bao, and they're both so good. The boba was like the worst. Like, I didn't eat the red beans because like red beans and boba is like such not a good combination.
