He was the main character of my life while I was just a side character in his. My first big crush, the guy I was kind of obsessed with. He lives in the province I'm currently in right now, and if you knew me a few years ago, you know exactly who I'm talking about. The guy I could never get over, the guy I never even met in real life. And here's the crazy part: I could literally reach out to him and ask if he wants to meet up. I could do it now. I could make my past self the happiest girl in the world, but I won't. I won't because the amount of time and work it took me to get I had over him was a lot. I refuse to undo all of that. Sometimes we chase people who are never ours to begin with. We mistake their kindness for interest. We write stories in our heads where they're the lead and we're just hoping for a role. But real love, real love won't make you feel like a side character in your own life.
