A couple weeks ago, we visited Montreal to reunite with our good friend Laurence, and while seeing her, we also got to fully explore the city and all it has to offer. This vlog will be all about our trip, so grab a snack and enjoy!
Okay, y'all, let's go!
Hey everyone, so I just finished packing for the Montreal trip I'm going to be going to. I'm going to be visiting Laurence, my long-distance friend. I'm so excited to see her. It's been such a long time since we've seen each other, and it's going to be so nice to spend time with her. So yeah, I was packing all night last night, and we're all good, good to go. This is the outfit of the day, wearing sweatpants, this nice shirt, and I'm going to be wearing a jean jacket. For the trip. Also bringing Lawrence— I'm bringing you these chocolates as a little thank you gift for letting me stay at your place. Family gets some sweets. Hope you like these. Hey guys, okay, so before we leave for the train, I'm gonna have a little, I guess, lunch. We got these sushi from Costco yesterday and there's still some left, so I'm gonna eat some.
Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go! Girl!
Oh my God! Good morning everyone! So right now we are heading to the train— no, bus station, and we're gonna just travel across, uh, Montreal. Laurence, wait, you tell them what we're doing.
Okay, so we're gonna be going downtown Montréal, and then we're gonna do a little tour, um, in Old Montréal. Hey everyone, right now—
so we—
okay, hey everyone, right now we are on Saint-Catherine Street.
Yes, so it's one of the longest commercial streets in Montreal. There's lots of shops, uh, very nice to walk here.
Thank you.
Long clock done fell off the wall. Been out here writing songs. Where the hell did the time go? Take on my passions with pain, but would you do the same? I'm going so insane.
Hey everyone, so right now we're gonna be going to bubble tea. Wait, which one will we be ordering?
It's called Presso Tea, so we're probably gonna get some tea with tapioca pearls. Should be really good.
Yes, yes, and chai, chai flavor.
Yes, exactly.
I've never tried it. I've only tried the mango one and it was really gross, so We're going to try Lauren's favorite and see how it tastes.
Yeah, thank you.
You ended up taking the passion—
passion fruit tea with, um, lychee and tapioca.
Yeah, tapioca pearls. And I got Okinawa with oni Focaccia.
Looks really good.
1, 2, 3.
Wait, wait, is it the shark?
Yes.
Okay. 3, 2, 1. Woo! So good, so good.
I love it. Do you like it?
No, it's good.
It's good.
Try mine.
Okay. Mm, it's good. It's really good too.
Oh, I like it. It's good.
Yeah, dude, this is like coffee.
It's so good. I know, this is good too.
No, but if you have issues with dairy, you can't drink that, honestly. Like, Okay, so I'm now taking the girls to the World Trade Center. It's a very nice place, very nice building. You walk in there, there's a nice alley, you can see shops, offices. So we're going to go visit that.
Yeah, let's go!
What? This is—
Oh good, okay.
Is that my—
Okay, yeah, don't worry.
Okay, let me, let me open the door for you. Thank you. Wow, so beautiful!
Okay, hey guys, right now we're entering Old Montreal. This is where it all started. Super pretty.
So amazing.
Rue St. Paul, we just crossed it. We're there. And we're going to Basilica.
Okay, we're gonna break this. Gosh, I'm— frick.
Here.
Okay, that's good. It's really good. You said this is the best cookies in town, right?
Yep.
Hi! What's your order number?
Uh, 98. Let me just set it up for the vlog.
Thank you! Okay. Thank you so much! Bye-bye!
Okay, hey guys, we're on— I'm on this ledge right now and we're gonna try this corn dog. I've never had a corn dog before, first time.
There's a lot of cheese.
Hey guys, so we're going on the metro right now. I've never been on there, so it's gonna be really exciting. Hey everyone, so right now we're cycling. Lauren, she's taking us to a very beautiful—
wait, yeah, very beautiful view on top of Mount Royal.
And it's been a while since Natalie and I, we biked, so this is super intense for us, but it's so much fun. And yeah, we have these street bikes, road bikes. So nice. You guys, Just tell me this doesn't look good.
What is it? Very nice.
Hey everyone, so we just finished our bike ride. We showered, got dressed, nice outfits, and we are feeling so hungry. So we're going to be going— where are we going?
We're going to the Myland, um, probably to like a nice gnocchi place, good pasta, and probably ice cream.
So we got our gnocchi, you guys.
Is it good? Wow. Oh my gosh, it's so good.
Okay, there's a lot, so we're going to have to all share.
Okay, cheers.
Cheers.
Wow.
The texture is perfect.
Thank you.
Hey, so what did you get?
So I got vegan vanilla. I've never had vegan ice cream before, so we're gonna try it.
And then I also had—
I got, um, passion fruit sorbet. So let's give it a try.
Is it good? Like the vegan one?
The vegan? Yeah, I honestly love it. Doesn't taste— it kind of tastes like— oh, it's like almond milk almost.
Oh nice, I wonder what it's made of. Oh, it might be almond actually. And the sorbet is good?
It's sour but it's so refreshing. Okay, Laurence, tell them what we just did.
Okay, so I was— I'm taking them to St. Joseph's Oratory, which is a very nice place, um, to see a nice view of Montreal. And, uh, the entrance is all in construction, and so I didn't know it wasn't planned, so I just trusted Google Maps, and we ended up taking a weird route, very steep. Um, so now we're sweating.
Are we inside?
We are Inside the chapel.
Yes, so pretty. So basically made out of stone, and you can see all the religious signs over there.
Hey everyone, so right now it is the evening, and where are we going?
We're going to Chinatown. So we're actually just Under the Arch, downtown Montreal. So you guys can take a look.
I'm assuming it says Chinatown or something.
Here you really feel like you're in a new country. Everything's written in Mandarin, and we're gonna visit the little shops.
I'm so excited. Hopefully we'll find some good food.
Yes.
That's so cute.
That's the cutest thing I've ever heard. I love miniature items. I'm gonna purchase this, you guys. This looks so good.
So it's made out of eggs, um, flour, and milk.
Okay.
And very famous, I guess, in China.
Yeah.
Oh, there's cream.
That's why it said sandwich cake.
I'm gonna taste the cream.
Okay, is it good?
That's good.
Tastes good.
That's actually awesome. Oh yum, wait, like, look how fluffy this is. No, honestly, I'm impressed. I'm impressed. It's so soft.
How much I think it is.
It's getting dark outside, but right now we're gonna go and buy— okay, yeah, so we're heading We're going to a convenience store, or just a store.
Supermarket.
A supermarket, yeah. And we're gonna buy some mochi because, yeah, Lauren, she— you've never tried the mochi. She's never tried mochi, so we're gonna go take her and get her some.
Okay, we have raspberry, chocolate, and vanilla. We're not gonna buy everything.
Yeah, just one. How much is it? It's new.
It's natural. Oh, it's No, it's not natural, it's the name of the brand. Can we get raspberry?
We are at a mall right now, it's so nice. Look, there's a fountain behind us and we got a bunch of snacks. Okay, show it, Lawrence.
So we have here some maple cones. So you have some maple butter on top and some maple taffy at the bottom. You've never had maple taffy, right?
I've never, never had.
It's going to be interesting to taste. Yeah, we also have some mochis because I've never had mochis. So, uh, we bought some chocolate mochis. Oh, we're gonna see better later. And also, what?
Fortune cookies!
We're gonna read some fortunes and see what we get. Super basic, but it's fun to do.
So first, start with the code.
Yeah.
Okay, go ahead. Okay, good.
So wait, cheers!
Cheers!
Mm, we taste like maple. Yeah, I look— oh my, bite in it more.
This is good.
Wow, look at the taffy here.
Mm, wait, that's actually good.
I knew it, I knew it.
It like melts in your mouth. Okay, what's at the top? It's like a powder.
It's from everywhere. Okay, ready? Cheers!
Cheers!
That's good!
Mhm!
It's true, right?
I really love the rice. Yeah, it's nice.
Now on to the fortune cookies. Okay, ready? I'm supposed to like break it. I love those cookies. It says, "You will overcome a great challenge." Good morning, guys!
It's the third and final day, and right now we are walking alongside Little Italy.
We have a nice park here, and we'll see nice shops and then go to a market.
Nice!
We basically finished the Olympic Stadium tour. We unfortunately can't go inside, so we can't check it out there, but we saw it from the outside and it looks really cool. So now we're probably gonna go and find some lunch because we are starving.
Success!
This and salad, Mandy's favorite meals. And the vegan mayonnaise, um, it tastes pretty good. I mean, it tastes like real one.
Hey, bloopers!
Hey you guys, okay, now my turn to hold the camera. So we just, um, finished visiting the botanical garden. We walked for about an hour and a half, something like this. And how is it, Julie Fedorin?
It was nice, but honestly, definitely I was expecting more for sure. Like on Google Images, I saw really nice photos of sculptures and really nice big bushes, and— but I didn't really see that. It was still really nice. Like, we got to walk around, we almost 10,000 steps, so that's pretty—
that's pretty good. And we still saw the Japanese Garden, Chinese Garden. That was good looking. A little bit of construction, so you should for sure check depending on the season. Yeah, there's probably best times to go.
And I think right now also a lot of the flowers are still starting to bloom, so not all of them are out. Yeah.
But no, it was still fun. It was so fun.
So now we're gonna go to the metro and then try to find some sweets, and yeah, should be cool. For the longest time, but my parents are like, no.
Okay, okay, let's go back.
Yes, this is good.
Okay guys, so for snack, we got these mochi and Pop-Tarts.
I like it. It tastes like a tart.
It's better toasted.
It's like a tart. For sure better toasted. You like it? I mean, I would rate this like 5 out of 10 honestly.
This is 5 out of 10.
It's not bad, but it's not good.
Yeah, probably wouldn't get it again. Yeah, no, me either. Hey everyone, so it's 8:30 and now we're gonna be going into the city and for one last food that we're gonna try is donuts called Mr.
Puff.
Puffs.
Now Lauren said they are the best tasting donuts in the history, in the world.
So you know what? What?
Okay, now maybe not in the world. Look at the sunset. But it's true, they're very good. Basically it's just dough and you put whatever type of sauce you want on it and it tastes really good. So we'll see what you think about it.
Yeah, we'll see because I've tried so many donuts. So we'll see if— because yeah, Lauren's put such high expectations on these, so hopefully they're good.
Okay, let's go. Yes.
Oh gosh.
Okay.
Can you put it all in your mouth?
Yeah. Oh my God, it's so crispy.
Yeah. Mm, I would say that.
They're all really good.
Yeah.
Hey you guys, so we're back at the train station. This means our trip has has come to an end.
I had so much fun with you, Lauren.
It was literally so nice meeting you in person again. Oh my God, it's been a full year since we've seen each other, and now we've reunited, and then hopefully we'll reunite again.
Yeah, for sure, for sure.
So we are— wait, where, where are we right now, Laurence?
Wait, no, but what do you want me to say?
And the view is so, so magnificent.
Magnifique.
We're going to be taste testing one last food in Montreal before we leave tomorrow. Now these This food, these foods, these foods. Definitely like stepping outside my comfort zone with this top, but it's nice for the price. To be honest, it wasn't really worth it.
Okay, you should do like a transition or something.
We rode our bikes to, uh, this very awesome viewpoint.
No, ni sasageyo!
Take your time.
Okay, okay, okay. Hey everyone, so it's the evening around 8:30. We got dressed and now we're gonna be going into the— So we're walking alongside— wait, what is this street called?
Um, this street is— I don't know.
Okay, and where are we right now?
Um, right now we are on Mile— no, you didn't say— you didn't say— Oh, how was it, Julie? It was—
yeah, honestly, it wasn't— I— okay, sorry.
Okay.
I regret this.
What did we buy?
Oh, we're just eating junk food for no reason. On Google Images, I saw like nice sculptures and bushes, and they're all bushes. Well, there's just a lot of pretty stuff, and I didn't see that. Yeah. And where are we, Laurens?
Should I say that? Um, hi! Hello!
Uh, are you guys vlogging?
Yes.
Uh, if you don't mind, can I have picture with you guys?
Okay, water. Good night everyone!
That would be funny.
What's the best? Which one do you like the best?
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
We're making such a huge mess here. And cut!
