WHAT I EAT & HOW I WORKOUT FOR SELF-CONFIDENCE! (how to love yourself & find confidence in 2021)

In this collaborative vlog, Danielle Piacenti and Julia Fedorin discuss how nutrition, exercise, and mindset intertwine to build lasting self‑confidence. They share personal struggles with seasonal confidence swings, body‑image anxiety, and the pressure of social media comparison, emphasizing that confidence must come from within rather than external factors. The video outlines a 2‑week workout plan created in Notion, showcases a 40‑minute HIIT session from No Bad Addiction, and details daily meals such as egg‑white oats, nourish bowls, Greek‑yogurt snacks, and Built Bar protein bars. They promote stepping out of comfort zones, illustrated by a spontaneous French conversation that highlights vulnerability and growth through discomfort. Throughout, they stress the importance of self‑compassion, creating personal routines, and focusing on strengths while improving weaknesses to achieve a fulfilling life.

I want to call my confidence a seasonal roller coaster. In the summer, I feel my most confident self. I feel awake. The sun and warm weather attract positive vibrations. In the winter, however, I feel like I'm a lazy bear hibernating in a cave, awaiting for the moment when the snow melts and the birds start to chirp. In the winter, I find that my old habits, they start to come back. I start biting my nails again, picking my acne, eating loads of food without balance or control, and constantly bloating. I'm starting to think that my confidence and self-esteem is dependent on the season, and I don't want it to be that way. I don't want the weather or any other outside factor to be a determiner to how I feel about myself. To start my week off, I'm going to be doing a 40-minute intense HIIT workout from a new channel I discovered called No Bad Addiction. Their workouts appeared on my homepage and I just had to try them out. As much as I love Growing in a Nass and Caroline Girvin, I'm always on the lookout for new fitness channels to support, and this channel has really caught my attention. So if you guys are on the lookout for new workouts to follow, especially HIIT, then I recommend you guys check them out. I want my confidence to flourish all year round. I want to feel confident even when I'm bloated, even when I'm not at my ideal weight. I want this confidence to come from within, not from materialistic things or events. I've spent countless of years trying to find myself. Who am I? What's my purpose? How do I find the answers to these questions? Until I've realized I shouldn't focus on finding myself, but on creating myself. We are all born as blank canvases, and our job throughout life is to draw something spectacular on it. Something we will feel proud of. No matter what it is, I believe each person who walks this earth has one goal, and that's to create their ideal life. And you can start creating this life now by focusing on the things that bring you the most joy, focusing on your strengths, but also evaluating your weaknesses, finding ways that you can improve and grow each day. Each one of us is capable of achieving our full potential. You don't need to have lots of money, connections, or this lucky moment. You just need to want it so badly and you need the patience to keep going no matter how long it takes. A lot of you guys have been asking for my workout routine, my workout plan, what I do, how I do it, and I thought it was finally time to create my own 2-week-long workout plan featuring all the workouts I did this week and all the workouts I'll be doing the next. And if you guys do decide to try it out, let me know how it goes. And also let me know if you guys want to see more of these weekly workout plans for me because I had so much fun creating it and I'm sure all of you guys will also enjoy. So yeah, the download link will be in description below if you guys want to check it out. I love working out. I mean, you probably already know that. I mean, the reason why I created this channel in the first place was to share my passion for fitness and health, and I'm just enjoying it so much. I understand, however, that it can be especially hard to stay motivated to work out at home. I've had a lot of those days where I felt lost, didn't know which workouts to follow. That's why I think it's so important to to create a workout plan of all the workouts you intend to do every day. That way you'll know what to do ahead of time, and it can definitely leave you less stressed for sure. A lot of you guys have been asking me how I create my workout plans, and I actually use an app called Notion to set up my fitness plan, and it works so well. Basically, on Notion, I have a fitness routine section where I add in all the follow-along workouts I intend to do into a table. Doing this has honestly been a game changer. And I assure you it will for you too. I've actually created a template of this following page, so if you want to copy it into your Notion account, then I'll leave the link in the description below so you can use it. If you guys don't already know, I am obsessed with protein bars and I'm constantly on the lookout for new bars to try. And it was finally time to step outside my protein bar comfort zone and discover some new options. This is when I stumbled upon Built Bar, a brand that has literally been dominating the internet. Bilt Bars contain up to 19 grams of protein and are covered in real dark chocolate with a very delicious gooey inside. If you still haven't tried these bars, then what are you waiting for? Click the link in my description to get 10% off your Bilt Bar purchase. Now, if anyone is ever curious about my relationship status, no, I don't have a boyfriend. And a big reason for this is because I still haven't yet built that strong connection with myself. And before I can build a strong, loving connection with another person, I first need to build it within me. I believe if you want to have a healthy relationship with someone else, then you need to start by learning how to have a healthy, happy relationship with yourself. I want you to know that you are absolutely worth it. You will find that special person, that person who will love and take care of you. But until then, take care of yourself. Do the things you love. Bake your favorite desserts, sing and dance to your favorite songs. Put on your most flattering outfit and fall in love with you, as it's the only person who will stay by your side till death do you part. Oh, that was very poetic of me to say.
<LYRICS>To September, maybe it's the long nights and the short cold days, or the rate that the planets change position.</LYRICS> Discomfort.
Something we all fear. Something we think we should avoid at all costs. However, will you believe me when I say discomfort is actually what we should strive to have in our lives? I know, right? Just recently I realized that we should reach for discomfort, not run away from it. Amanda Lang, author of the book The Beauty of Discomfort, says, "If you cannot tolerate discomfort, you cannot get better at things that are difficult. You cannot achieve your goals. You cannot grow." The number one step to achieving self-confidence is confronting your fears, stepping outside of your comfort zone, and embracing those awkward, uncomfortable moments. I used to only have rest days on the weekends, but now I feel like spreading them out throughout the week is so much better for my body. Now I like to have an active rest day on Wednesdays and Sundays. Usually on rest days I like to just go on walks, but today I'll be doing something new, and that's dancing. I decided to do these two really quick dance workouts from the fitness Marshall, and it was definitely challenging in terms of getting the moves down, but it really did give me a lot of sweat, and I had so much fun, and that's what counts. Today I came face to face with discomfort, and I am proud of myself. If you watched my morning routine video, then you'd know a goal of mine is to learn how to speak French. I've been taking it seriously, and I genuinely want to improve, which is why I forced myself to join a spontaneous French conversation on Google Meet, and let's just say it was something already.
Okay, hi guys, so we're about to do some spontaneous French conversation. So nervous, this is like my first time I'm actually talking in French with someone else, I'm pretty sure, in like a long time. So you guys are gonna watch me embarrass myself. I literally don't know— oh my gosh, okay. Bonjour Julia! Bonjour!
comment on dit ton basement?
Sous-sol.
Sous-sol, oui.
Julia Fedorin, exercice dans ma sous-sol.
So I just finished the conversation in French and literally I just want to cry. Like, I'm— I couldn't say anything at all. It's so hard. Like, sometimes I think, is this even possible? It is. I just have to keep trying and not give up. Sorry for crying. I just, I'm upset because I feel like I'm never gonna learn. I don't know, we're just gonna keep trying. Okay, so from this spontaneous French conversation I just had now, I want to move on to a little reminder. Today or this week, try your best to step outside of your comfort zone because only outside of your comfort zone are you going to grow, are you going to become a better person in whatever you do. As much as I felt embarrassed, as much as I felt stupid and just so, so cringy, I still did it because in the long term I know that by doing something like this I am definitely going to somehow improve my talking in French. This is just again your reminder to do something that you're scared of doing because even though you might feel embarrassed or just all over the place in the moment, it's going to really benefit your future for sure.
Despite calling this video a what I eat and how I exercise for self-confidence, ironically I've been having a lot of bad body image days, and it all started when I put on leggings and went down to do a 30-minute HIIT workout from Growing in a Nest. Today I felt very conscious wearing leggings. I was really bloated and it made me uncomfortable.
I don't even want to finish working out. I just feel so—
whatever, we're gonna finish this workout.
We got this.
During my workout, I would constantly look at the camera. I paused the recording multiple times just to look over the clips I filmed, and whenever I watched myself on video, it just made me feel worse and worse.
I don't feel like working out. I'm just like so— I literally look so bad right now. And I know I promote body positivity, but even like I have those days too. I have bad body image days constantly. And because I'm not perfect, I'm still trying to learn how to love my body on, on every day.
But it's just so hard, especially I want to tell you guys that bad body image days are normal. Everyone has them once in a while. With social media apps like TikTok and Instagram, it's even harder not to have those bad days. We constantly stumble upon people who might have our dream body, and comparison can tend to blind us from our beautiful features. It's sad that I had to put myself in this emotional distress because looking at those clips of my body now, I don't see anything wrong with it. This just shows that we really are our own worst critics, picking our body apart and all its imperfections. These imperfections that our mind is creating. Yes, I was bloated. Yes, I might have felt uncomfortable. And yes, it's okay. We all have our ups and downs, our insecurities. But above all that, you are still so incredibly beautiful. I'm slowly starting to realize that the way you look does not, I repeat, does not define you as a person. There are so many more wonderful and attractive qualities to you, and having rolls, which by the way are perfectly normal, is the least interesting part about you. Remember to treat yourself the same way you would treat a friend. Compliment yourself and hug yourself every second you can. Make yourself your best friend. I just wanna talk. I feel like comparison is one of the big things that is stopping me from being my most confident self. I find myself constantly in the state of comparison, comparing myself to other YouTubers I strive to be like, or bodies I strive to have. However, I've realized this comparison does nothing but slow me down. A favorite quote of mine is, "Don't compare your life to others. There's no comparison between the sun and moon. They shine when it's their time." And this is so true. Just because you might be moving at a slower pace than others, that doesn't mean you won't get there. Keep going and enjoy the journey. It doesn't matter when you get there, it matters if you get there. If your goal takes longer to achieve, so be it. Be the one to say, "I I'm glad I didn't give up. I'm glad I had the patience to keep going. The only race worth winning is the one against you. Compete with yourself and not with others. And always remember this: don't strive to be the second version of someone else. Strive to be the first version of you. My ultimate goal at the moment is to find a job I love so I won't have to quote-unquote work a day in my life. Remember, you guys, whatever people tell you, it is you who must decide how you want to live your life. You don't need to become what your parents want you to become because at the end of the day, whatever people say, you are the one who is living your life, not them. And you don't want to regret and look back saying, I wish I did this, I wish I took this opportunity, etc. Why not follow your intuition right now? Make those right choices right now when you still have the chance. And while it's still so important to live listen to what other people have to say, it all comes down to you at the end of the day. Simply taking the time to do what you really care about in life will help build your confidence because when you do something you enjoy, everything else seems so small. All these once big worries are flooded with a sense of passion and delight.
Hey, Julie Fedorin, are you ready to eat and work out like me? Well, I sure hope you are because this morning we're starting off with breakfast. My favorite thing so far has been these egg white oats. Okay, do not knock it until you try it, okay? It's phenomenal. Then usually for a snack, I would either have protein bar or fruit with nut butter.
Hey guys, welcome to FitOn. I'm Danielle Piacenti, and today we're doing a 40/20 full body HIIT.
And then for my workout, I love to do the FitOn Fitness workouts. I love their HIIT workouts, and I've currently been doing a lot of those.
Alexis, this is hard.
Oh my God. We have one more circuit to go and I already want to stop.
Like, this is, this is so hard.
But it's really fun, so yeah.
Then for lunch, I either love to have a Nourish Bowl— usually always a Nourish Bowl, actually. Um, I love just filling up on fiber and veggies and protein and those healthy complex carbs to really keep me full and fuel my body.
These cooked cucumbers taste exactly like zucchini. They're so good.
And then for another snack, I might have a Greek yogurt bowl. I usually love doing some fruit with some Greek yogurt or something. Then for supper, I will have avocado toast with fried eggs.
So yeah, I want to end off by saying that all of you are so talented and beautiful. You were all brought on Earth for a reason, and each of you have a wonderful purpose yet to be discovered. And remember, you guys, beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself. So go get 'em, chase your dreams, forget what everyone else else says and start to live the life you've dreamed of living today.
