"Failed to communicate with URL provided" Monday.com Webhook Error

Fix the Monday.com webhook error "Failed to communicate with URL provided" by adding a Webhook Response module in Make.com that returns a 200 status with the exact challenge payload Monday.com sends. After the one-time verification succeeds, you can remove the response module and build your automation.

Okay, now here's how you fix this monday.com, uh, webhook error. When you click on connect, you want to connect to a webhook and you get this message: failed to communicate with URL provided. Now, um, I struggled a bit with this too, uh, before I found the solution right here in the documentation. It will lead you here and it's a bit of a documentation, but I will obviously show you right away without reading through the whole documentation. So what, what Monday wants is it wants a confirmation that this webhook actually works. So what does it do? I'm using Make.com here, obviously. First up, obviously, when we go in here, we have our webhook URL. I am going to redetermine the data structure just so Monday has the actual structure of that webhook. When we send it now, you can see how successfully determined. So the webhook is actually coming through, the data is coming through. But Monday doesn't, doesn't know that. So what you want to do is you want to add a new, a new module, and you select webhooks, webhook response, right? And webhook response, we want status 200. And you can see right here already that Monday, through that webhook, gives us a challenge. Now what does it want to do? What does it want us to do with the challenge? It wants us to return it. Uh, and not just, not just like this, not just putting it in here. It won't know what to do with it. It wants us to actually return it the same way. So shell challenge— uh, sorry, like this. And we put the challenge in here like this, and we close it. So you can just basically use this format right here. And that basically allows us to return the challenge. So to basically return the exact same thing that they sent us through the webhook. Now if we click on save and we save right here and we run once and go back to Monday right here inside our connect your webhook URL and click on connect again, it will take us to the next screen and everything worked flawlessly. Now you can obviously select when whatever changes to whatever then this webhook should trigger and everything else you can do in Make.com or n8n or whatever you're using. And you can see right here how the challenge came through from Monday and we sent that challenge right back. And now everything works. It verified that this webhook works and now you can set everything up, click on create automation and everything will work. Obviously now that we've done this, you can delete this module and build your automation right here and you don't have to keep this module. That was just like one-time verification pretty much. That's how it works. Hope this helped, and that's it.
