On the outside when you think about nfl athletes these elite level athletes everybody thinks there's something really special about all of them but to be honest there's a very small number that are actually we consider.
Just the freaks the ability to overcome adversity is a skill we can call resilience and that has to be trained concomitant with every other thing that you're learning at the time.

Welcome back to another week of the coaches council john romanello in his four season home in la present with a beautiful sweater and beanie because you're sitting in the winter room.
I'M guessing this is the winter room yes here it's probably like seventy two outside but also consider that as now an angeleno transplant my blood is thinned and it's like if i go outside and in the morning when it's like sixty two it's very cold for me so that's really it's part of that.
I love it i love it mister sanga great to see you again how's toronto treating you you got any snow.
Yet what's up guys well we had a few flakes a couple of weeks ago but so far it's been good we had a warm spell come through here so knock on what things are looking nice so far i love it.
I love it guys we got a great episode planned today really all about fighting through adversity finding your purpose and with all my years in athletics it's something that there's a simple parallel between athletics and entrepreneurship and the one overarching theme is that you can't just do it half heartedly you have to be that twenty four hour athlete you have to be that twenty four hour entrepreneur and if there's anybody that knows anything about that it's pratik patel pratik spent all of about four seasons as the performance director for the new york giants and we're really excited to have pratik on today and hear more about his story and really about what fighting through that adversity is really all about and the traits in which athleticism can be brought over into that world of entrepreneurship and what we can learn and how we can take those strides to be that twenty four hour entrepreneur so pratik thank you so much for joining us.
Today no thanks for having me on i don't want to disappoint john but his sixty two degrees he thinks is cold isn't anything to the twenty five degrees i woke up here in kansas and i went out just like this so i envy your situation you've got.
The thick blood though it hasn't thinned.
Yeah you know having lived in kansas and michigan you're just used to cold weather so you know you either adapt to it or you stay inside all.
Days so pratik kind of walk us through a little bit working with some of the biggest baddest most athletic athletes in sport what have you noticed in terms of the adversity that a lot of these athletes have come up against because there's a lot of in the nfl you've either got players that show up and they're there for a day a week a year but there's very few that end up making it a solid career four five six seven years plus it's very rare what is it about their character the adversity that they're able to fight through and the steps in which they're able to take that immediately parlays into entrepreneurship as i know that you've just recently dove headfirst into.
Entrepreneurship as well yeah it's funny because on the outside when you think about nfl athletes these elite level athletes everybody thinks there's something really special about all of them but to be honest there's a very small number that are actually we consider just the freaks that can just show up on their own time do whatever they want and still ball out on game day so you don't have fifty three pro bowl caliber players on every roster i mean you just can't because of the salary cap in the cba it would be nice if we were able to do that you know invite them all to new york city it's a glamorous city obviously john knows much about it everybody wants to be there but you know i've had the opportunity to get the chance to work with two or three of them you know one still on the team but at the core of it most of these guys are just very average in terms of everybody else in the league so these guys kind of know what their niche is and what their role is and what they need to do on a daily basis day in and day out the ones that can't figure it out even though they have some athletic ability those are those first rounders second rounders that you know they play a year or two and then they flame out and then six seven years down the line when espn is talking about hey let's look back at the twenty ten draft and you see all these names you're like holy cow i forgot all about these guys what happened to this guy and the thing is they just don't put it in their heads that they're fighting for their jobs every single day and they might not have that freakishly skilled ability strength speed power that those one or two guys every team has to be able to just not be all in with everything they need to do on a day to day basis and you know having left the team and getting a chance to talk with some of my former players some of these topics come up about you know how they were able to keep a career six seven eight years up to eleven years and knowing that you know for the last five years of the career they were really running on empty and doing any and everything that they could and some of it it was just they came to a realization to know that this is you know my last chance to make a million to three million to five million dollars a year and i'm going to have to go all in on doing any and everything that i can to make sure that i secure my place on this team i show my value to the head coach to the gm to the organization to be able to be kept around or i put out good film where if i'm on a contract year and it's my time to leave i can sign somewhere else and still provide value for that team too so i think it's more of these guys really understanding it and it has to come from themselves like we can tell them all the time like look you have to be healthy you have to do x y and z keep your body in shape you have to get sleep you have to do all these things inside the building outside the building but it's really the onus is on them and the ones that understand that and either have learned it just by adapting to the situation quickly or they had a mentor who was an older player on the team or a really good coach or somebody they trusted in their circle tell them that this is what you need to do there's no if ands or buts about it because this league is so volatile the roster turns over i think from twenty sixteen there's only one player left on the giants roster and that's just in four years so i think that's kind of incredible to actually think.
About retrospectively john you've said this often and pratik just hit it on the head he goes these athletes that have made it there's nothing special about them the majority of them yes they're talented but at some point in their life at some point they decided they were going to become an nfl player at some point they decided that was their purpose that was their mission and that singularity of focus became the driving factor for every decision every choice and every single thing that they did and i know you've talked about this often and and it was probably back on like episode seven where we were talking about finding your purpose and what your mission was as an entrepreneur and you straight up said you have to understand that we all can accomplish whatever we want we can be whatever we want you want to be a writer be a writer you want to be a business owner that sells real estate do that you want to be a broker do that you want to be a content creator do that but you have to have that singularity of focus and i want to come back to you john and kind of dig in and bring that parallel together with what prateek was talking about in terms of what those athletes have to go through because as an entrepreneur there's some days that are not great there's some days that you have to pick up your boots and take a look at certain things that are going on and really drive through just as in a day of an nfl athlete or an nhl athlete where you're in a rut you're in a slump things aren't working well and you have to dial in so what are those things that you have to dial in on and what do you do on those days where it just becomes.
Tough sure well the first thing i want to touch on is something prateek said which i thought was so interesting and he talked about how pratik he talked about how on every team there's like one or two freaks that just don't have to do anything and the rest of the team the other fifty one guys on the team they're average but you were really careful with your language and you said they're average by the standard of the league which i think is so important as a distinction because by any stretch of the imagination anyone who makes it to the nfl is probably a genetic outlier and a performance based outlier in some way and this is where i think you see a lot of people who flame out of the nfl and if you track their history it's this i've seen it in academics right you have people who have a higher level of baseline intelligence and they cruise through let's say high school and to some extent college because their level is higher than their surrounding competition and you see this in athletics as well there are people who because they're so naturally gifted or because they're so physically gifted they will they'll crush high school they'll crush it in college and then when they get to the nfl they are now average they're the smaller fish in the bigger pond and what happens is because they never had to work particularly hard to stand out their level of work ethic and their resilience their ability to overcome adversary is under trained relative to their physical ability and as their physical ability levels out and is now on par with everyone else across the league and in some cases subpar now the thing that they would be reliant upon is that resilience and their ability to overcome adversity and that's what's been under trained and so when we track the history of people who flame out it's almost always the case that they were able to excel without a lot of work until they reached the top level and that's where things fall apart and you see this in the same you see this in entrepreneurship with people who were able to excel year one or year two of their business where for whatever reason they got in at the right time and they had a certain combination of characteristics that allowed them to be successful at exactly that time and i'll use myself as an example my first business in the fitness space in the online fitness space succeeded because i'm good at a few things networking writing and programming i was selling programs i was selling ebooks i wrote good ebooks affiliate marketing was the primary driver of revenue we would promote each other's stuff and i'm a very good networker and i'm a very good writer so i was able to write great copy i was able to write good content and at that point everybody just promoted my shit and so my business blew up but if i hadn't gone out of my way to to learn the things i wasn't good at and to learn marketing and to learn you know how to run a back end to learn operations which are things that didn't come naturally to me i would have flamed out after my third year and this is what we see within the context of entrepreneurship where there are people who come in with some natural inclination or propensity to be good at a few skill sets that at the exact time they're coming in allow them to be successful it's very very rarely the case that you could just be so phenomenally good at one thing that you never have to improve at anything else so to pratik's example those genetic outliers those freaks who can pretty much put in eighty percent effort and still ball out on game day they exist in the entrepreneur space right they exist in the fitness industry someone who is so good at one thing that for whatever reason they can just crush it even if they don't learn the business and other people try to model that and they're just like well i'll just be the best i can be at my skill and i won't have to learn marketing and so then they learn to hate marketers and things of this nature and so when i think about overcoming adversity i always go back to preparation the ability to overcome adversity is a skill we can call resilience and that has to be trained concomitant with every other thing that you're learning at the time because at some point you shit's gonna go wrong and you need to be able to focus on that for me preparation is one of my my life philosophies it's one of the core tenants and i always go to churchill who said if you don't sweat in peace you'll bleed in war and i think about what i learned in the boy scouts which is whenever i'm leaving the house and i start thinking about like what do i need i've always got you know i've like i have a go bag prepared i have stuff but it's always the answer is anytime i'm thinking about bringing a jacket the answer is it's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it and that is pretty much my philosophy for how i do everything in my business i just want to be prepared for the inevitable fuck show that's going to happen when something breaks and for me sitting in the energy of trying to game out what is likely to break and then being prepared for it in advance makes it much easier to deal with at that time and so then when things break you gather evidence that my level of preparation overcame the disaster and so you just keep doing that and where i see a lot of people failing is not being prepared it's not having an understanding of how to fix things and then that low level of resilience because they've been able to achieve some moderate or even high level of success without needing to put in tremendous amounts of work that is what is going to be their undoing whereas when you look at people whether it is in the nfl or in entrepreneurship or in any creative endeavor the standout talents obviously you know they do show themselves but the ones who stood out at the lower levels and then never learned how to just go brick by brick and step by step those are the ones who flame out the ones who have longevity outside of the elites the ones who just blow it all away are the ones who treat it like a craft and a skill and look to get better at it every single day and even within the context of business coaching when i have had many many people i'll launch a mastermind and i've got twenty five people in there it's very tempting to look for the people with the x factor that certain something that je ne sais quoi that you're like okay you're this kid's got it he's got moxie there's something about him he's got charisma and that's a marketable thing and we could make something of him sure he could be a figurehead if he's got a good team behind him but if that kid doesn't also have work ethic if he doesn't you cannot have moxie and then succeed forever you also need gumption and i'm going to work as many weird words into this little rant as i can i was just about to.
Say moxie and gumption those are money.
There you go you'd enjoy those so it's the people who are there's always a surprising ten percent in any group of business coaching students who they don't seem right off the bat like they're going to crush it but they just put in the work and i think and we've probably quoted this before i'll close with a quote by will smith who says there is a difference between talent and skill and pratik talked about people who are exceptionally talented right and i think we all have some degree of talent and that can be honed but talent is showing up and just being able to do it skill and craft those can be hammered on and improved and smith goes on to say that you don't say i'm going to build a wall you say i'm going to lay this brick better than any brick has ever been laid and if you do that over and over and over you have a wall that is skill skill can be developed skill can be created talent is the natural materials with which you were born maybe you're taller maybe you're faster but if you don't do the work to build skill to support that talent at some point you're going to run into adversity and it's not even that you may find yourself unequal to overcoming the specific obstacle it will be that you will be mentally incapable of of mustering the resolve to put in the work to do it because everything to that point has been relatively easy for you i actually.
Have a question for pratik because i'm super interested in this in the entrepreneurial world what ends up happening is a lot of entrepreneurs end up being solo and you would think that on a professional team as you watch professional sports you see these athletes are part of a professional team that they're there to support each other that they got each other's backs from your experience you know is that really the case you know or do athletes feel like they're somewhat alone do they feel like they're on an island you talked about something i think that really stood out for me and i never really thought about this but how athletes they're fighting for a spot they're continuously fighting otherwise they're going to get traded or they you know the contract's not going to be renewed whatever that looks like i don't think we i think as a general public i think we take that for granted i don't think we understand the stress that athletes feel being in that position yes as entrepreneurs but i guess my question is for the athletes out there does that team environment help them with the resilience or there are aspects that we just don't see as a general.
Public i think for a lot of them especially the really high level athletes that want to be great every single game and they want the stats being a part of that team atmosphere does really work their resilience because there are going to be days that when the game plan from the opposing team is going to be to shut you down and you're going to be a decoy and you want you know if you're a receiver you want ten catches for one hundred thirty yards and two touchdowns or if you're the star running back you know you want twenty five carries for over one hundred yards and three touchdowns or the quarterback obviously you know you want to pass for a ton of yards throw for touchdowns not have any interceptions but good head coaches know how to game plan against you and good head coaches know how to take the talent they have on their team and make it so that you know you put together a good game plan and we've seen this quite a bit where you know your star player has really good games and then really bad games really good games and it's not because the star player is bad that day it's just that that he wasn't the focal point because of what the opposition was doing so mentally there were a lot of players that say you know i'll do whatever the team needs me to do because if the team succeeds i succeed and we've kind of seen that you know when you're part of a better team you get a lot more focus that means if you're becoming a free agent or whatnot you're going to be a lot more in demand especially if you get a chance to play in the playoffs instead of having your season cut short after sixteen games but at the same time if you're a star player and all you care about is football and you want to get in the end zone for your team and not getting the stats really hurts you you have to understand that hey today's going to suck it's going to hurt really bad i'm just going to have to deal with it i know that it's not my day but when my time comes i'm going to be able to shine so in essence they're developing a little bit of that resiliency and overall from what i've seen working with you know the giants but also commenting with other colleagues around the league about you know this whole team dynamic and how much of it is it really about the best players versus the entire team as a whole those that have their best players as leaders to be able to control the environment and somewhat put their ego aside because you know even some of the worst players have the biggest egos which is kind of hilarious too that they're the ones that end up having a lot more success because they're happy for their teammate when they're getting the stats or they're getting the attention because they know everything comes around and the team if they're going to want to succeed they're going to be calling upon the better players when crunch time happens or late in games because most of these games are one score games so definitely you see it on both sides but you know the more that the player understands what their role is and knowing that there's going to be adversity whether it's within a game whether it's their role on the team whether it's their stats being able to control that mindset is really important now we've seen it in the media too where certain players just become extremely frustrated that gets out that gets reported teams that get shots at the team the hood coaches the ownership and you know that's when things go kind of in the opposite direction for that specific player because you know if that end player ends up getting traded or as a free agent now you bring them on your team you're going to deal with the same problems if they don't get exactly what they want and it's again it's a it's the ultimate team sport it's not about one person we just saw when tampa played new orleans i mean tampa everybody's talking about this is the team to beat in the nfc and then they just got crushed and tom brady had a horrible game and bruce arians had a horrible game plan now they go back to the drawing board so i think it's interesting when that dynamic comes together when we're looking at the players as an individual versus the team hey.

I want to.
Go back to john you were talking about preparation and overcoming adversity and taking a look at as you're kind of coming up where you start to realize that man i've never had any adversity and we might have a lot of listeners out there that have gone you know what my business is just growing my business is just i got right into it and god john just described me i'm exactly that person i've found success right away i found success in a lot of things i've really never come up against anything i may have stepped right into a family business that already was there and to pradeep's point a lot of these people are doing it on their own they're solopreneurs they're people who don't have that massive team around them like prateek's talking about or going into a big corporate space where there are these pieces and cogs in the wheel already in place so if you're coming up and you're like god that's me that is i don't know necessarily what i don't know what are the first steps to correct that so that it doesn't become too late in order to step up to the plate and be able to learn that skill of overcoming adversity to be able to be that elite player.
I think the first thing would be bringing on a pair of outside eyes a lot of people will tell you the first thing you should do is hire a coach which i think is not necessarily a bad move but if your business has been growing month over month and it's been going really well then and you feel like you feel like you haven't had any adversity i would say that you are suffering probably from just being too close to the project and what might be helpful is an operational consultant if you are growing rapidly then there's a lot of stuff that's if not broken or breaking then at least poorly built when you start a business you are particularly if you're let's say you're in the coaching space or some sort of service based business you start out designing a one room apartment for yourself to live in is more or less what's happening and as it grows you put additions on this apartment you know you had a bedroom and then a second bedroom and then there's a bathroom and after three or four years or probably less of growing month over month you've made a lot of additions to this and had you known that it was going to get as big as it did as fast as it did and had you had the capital to do so you would have just designed a house but now what you have is something that was based on the layout of an apartment and had a bunch of things added to it and if you were to bring someone else in to inspect it they would think it was designed by a madman because you have stairs that lead nowhere you have to like walk all the way around the apartment to get to the bathroom on the other side you know there's you know rooms with no plumbing because that's what happens when you build quickly you make a lot of decisions based on what's going to work right now and for the next six months and they're not necessarily gamed out in terms of what is going to be the best for the long term and having a second set of eyes comes in either an operational consultant who you can just bring on for maybe just an assessment or or hiring a director of operations who has some experience you will very quickly begin to see that there's a lot of leak and i love money i really do i love it as much as anyone else i love seeing revenue go up but i love keeping money more than i love making money and when i work with people for operations my first thing is to see where are their energetic financial and manpower leaks happening in your business that we can patch and when i've seen when i see someone who's been in business for two years and they've never had let's say a downturn they've never had it flatline it's just been growing quickly particularly in terms of revenue there's almost always ten to fifty thousand dollars worth of unnecessary expense that is going to out the door every six months that we can patch up and.
What'S that saying john is it like revenue feeds the ego profit feeds the.
Family yeah and that's the thing is you don't really know where these leaks are existing and so bringing someone in and it could be a business coach but if you're going to hire a business coach for this specific reason make sure that they either they can refer out to an operational consultant or that they they have built businesses like this before because not being able to spot the leaks is going to make you more susceptible to collapse whenever the tidal wave happens so the first thing i would say is if you've been lucky enough not to face adversity find someone who has and ask them where the leaks in your business are where the holes are patching those holes is going to create the cushion both financially emotionally and in terms of the structural integrity of the business itself to withstand a blow when that adversity does happen the next thing i would do is go out and seek some adversity find out where can you make things a little bit tougher in a way that challenges you are you ready to start doing some paid traffic that's going to be hard it's a whole other thing to learn it's a whole business model and find what are the things we can do that will increase revenue but probably not for three or four or five months and if you've been in a business where profit is growing and revenue at least is growing month over month twelve fifteen eighteen twenty four months at a clip then all of a sudden having three months where you're like really burning cash trying to figure out paid ads it humanizes things very quickly but above all i would just find if you've grown a business very quickly and you've never faced adversity i would be willing to bet money that i come in and find out where exactly you have been like bleeding cash or bleeding time with man hours or your own setup in terms of how you're doing things and if you can save on all three of those your business will continue to grow more quickly but again you've put something together piecemeal that now needs cohesion and so try and rebuild it with that in mind i love.
What you said there about bringing in another set of eyes and i think this is such a huge piece that's very much overlooked in sports and i've had the chance to talk with a lot of gm's assistant gm's for a variety of different leagues since leaving just talking about you know professional development development of their staff and one of the biggest things i see that teams could do but don't is doing an external audit you know you have a handful of all of these organizations in every league you know that who's going to be good almost every single year and then you have the same ones at the bottom every single year and there's turnover in coaching staffs there's turnover in players but they seem to still not get it so like what's the underlying fact well you kind of have to look from top to bottom but at the end of the day if the money's still going in the pocket of the owners they're not really going to want to shake up too much because change can be seen as a little bit scary but having gone through three of the worst seasons in the history of an organization that's been around for one hundred years you have a lot of lifers that justin's probably very familiar with this people that have been in the building for a very long time that don't necessarily want to change and they do things a certain way they may not have worked for another organization or university so i spent eleven years in sports three universities and a professional team so the opportunity to see things built and done differently in a lot of different ways a lot of programs that had a lot of success and a lot of programs that didn't and one of the biggest things was we're so focused on what we're doing we can't necessarily see where we're going wrong when things are going wrong right we want to continue it we don't want to do anything out of the ordinary to mess it up you know everything stays the same with the way that the schedule is we do everything the exact same way we eat the same things the players wear the same you know socks and undergarments and this and that because the second they change it and you don't win a game then it's their fault because of the superstitious part of it but not getting a chance to bring in somebody from the outside who can objectively just look at everything and say hey this is going really well this is not so well you have some issues with your staff here you guys are wasting way too much money here i don't know why you're doing this and bring in a different set of eyes especially if they have experience and have succeeded in doing so is very valuable and i think it's one of the biggest things that a lot of professional organizations don't do and so these these gm's i'm talking about i'm like look you know you want me to help you with figuring out who you should hire for this role these are the things you want to look for these are the things you want to kind of question what you're doing because again if you're not winning you're not achieving what you want year in year out you have to do something about it you can't just keep doing the same things over and over again.
You'Re exactly right i mean that's what einstein says the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results and pradeep i know you talked about that a lot even when we started chatting about network and who you're surrounding yourself with because just as john and pradeep were talking about bringing in outside eyes and having other people there they don't necessarily have to be a coach they don't necessarily have to be.
Somebody that you.
Hire but you either hire somebody or you invest to get in different rooms different points of view and it wasn't until i left the national hockey league and started to interact with people in the arts and people in the entertainment industry and people in the business industry at a higher level that all of a sudden i started to get these different viewpoints of life because when you are in every niche that we have whether it's business whether it's athletics their worlds are so small and the information that goes around and around just kind of gets passed around and it gets recycled instead of getting an infusion of something else and i know pradeep you've been talking to your clients so much about the network and who you're stepping into now again going back to that sense of adversity and you're wanting to push through that adversity where's the first place that you go to start bringing some other viewpoint in that is going to again create that improvement of your ability to push through those tough times.
Well i would say that's the first thing i always do is if i'm coming up against a challenge or we have a new project on the go even though i have a very qualified team we always look for the best and i kind of learned this the hard way is we've had good people so whether that's external consultants advisors whatever that looks like but i found out a very tough lesson and actually it was a really good lesson for me to learn is there's a difference between good and the best and we saw that stark difference in terms of not only in business but even from a health perspective having good personal coaches or training coaches versus the best that that level of knowledge that the best have is a level of knowledge that everybody else is kind of lacking and that can bring you that extra you can say oomph that you need in your business that extra kick seeing strategies that you might be missing out there and seeing the elite things that's happening or that are happening in business that you might not be aware of so i honestly this is what i do is whenever i need something done i always look for the best person in the industry and i just happened to it's one of those things that i'll tell you a story when i first got into business in the coaching and consulting space i said okay so who's the person that can help me with this and i was just like i was looking around i found the person and it costs me thirty thousand dollars to sit with this person for two days and i was like should i pay for this should i not pay for this let me see what's going to happen but i can tell you that that was pro the best amount of money that i spent in my entire basically lifetime for business because i learned so much in those two days that really skyrocketed my business and so from then on i always said to myself it doesn't matter well it does matter depending on your budget right everybody has a budget but always look for the best person out there when you find the best person you're always going to get a lot of nuggets now there's a toss up out there when you the word best what does that really mean right is it someone that has a great reputation but it's just reputation it's a lot of marketing and it's a lot of brand versus there's a lot of people out there that are excellent at what they do so in the tech industry for example there's a lot of super smart developers there's a lot of smart people out there that are the best but they're just not known as the best so i would just go and say do your due diligence in terms of the people you look for i always find that in a business situation rather than looking for the strategies and tactics yourself find someone that can help you because that will shorten your timeframe in terms of execution and that helps quite a bit in business because if you spend more time trying to figure out a strategy you've already lost that window of opportunity where it might cost you a little bit more upfront to bring someone on board to help you out but you've saved a lot of time money and energy especially wasted time money and energy and i'm sure that all of us can appreciate this and we've all probably had these situations and probably listeners out there where we've spent time money energy doing something and it hasn't panned out and what did that do right what did that do not only from a monetary perspective but what did that do to a self esteem i just spoke to someone today who is running a business and they spent fifteen thousand dollars on facebook ads over the last six months i think they were saying and it got them squat and now they're feeling down and out because they're like i spent fifteen thousand dollars in facebook ads i could have spent that somewhere else and in a place where i know i could have gotten return so not only is the money gone but now their motivation is gone too so i would just say go look for someone that can help you out there's always benefit in doing that.
I would say that in terms of looking at the financial aspect of it i think that losing fifteen thousand dollars on facebook ads if you look at that every entrepreneur will tell you to look at it like a lesson which it is but how much did you learn about facebook ads can you quantify how much you learned and how much you can now make having spent that fifteen thousand dollars i would rather spend twenty five or thirty thousand dollars on someone who could te definitively what's going to work rather than having to spend fifteen thousand dollars which is only fifty percent but also all the time and the uncertainty i will pay twice as much for certainty any day of the week no you're.
Exactly right i mean we've all been there and everything from my time coming up in athletics i mean prateek you know you've had some probably some of the best coaches you've worked for some of the best coaches myself as an athlete i had some of the best coaches i worked for some of the best coaches and then i also had some that weren't that great and ones that you just had to go and seek something else for and so for everybody out there who's been put up against a wall or feels like they see that wall coming or even worse you don't see that wall coming take a step back take a moment and bring that level of awareness to you so that you can plan and make the necessary adjustments if to move forward and to create the next possible move in the best way shape and form you can so that you can prepare for that when that adversity comes and you can start building that skill set up to drive through and build that work ethic and build the true character that is going to take you from point a to point b and john i'll give you that one tossed up.
Hail mary goodness okay well i mean it's really that simple so what it comes down to is that no matter how long you have spent without facing it adversity is inevitable as they say in game of thrones winter is coming starks are always right eventually and so you have to be prepared so whether it is finding someone to point out the weaknesses before they get there investing in your education or simply understanding that the good times cannot last forever adversity is on its way so whatever you can do to make sure that you can push through it that is a skill resilience is a skill it is a trait that needs to be honed along the way so seek it out sharpen that sword and be ready prateek.
