The content features a motivational talk by Justin Roethlingshoefer discussing the evolving meaning of the word "influencer," encouraging viewers to consider influence as an active verb focused on leading and impacting others positively rather than a passive noun associated with status or financial gain.
Foreign hey, guys, welcome back to Turn up the Heat. And I really want to just challenge you on this. It's been something that's been on my heart is what is an influencer? I remember the days when the influencer used to be used as a verb, was meant to lead somebody to something, to bring somebody to something, to teach something to somebody, something that was important, something that was going to be impactful, something that was going to create life change. But somewhere along the way, we lost our way. We lost our way. And the word influencer became a noun, a person, a place or a thing. It became about the worldly thing. It became about the financial impact. It became about something that no longer had meaning. And so for you, watching this as an influencer, for you looking at this as a parent, you're an influencer. As a friend, you're an influencer. As a man or woman of God, you're an influencer. As a business owner, you're an influencer. But what are you influencing? Who are you influencing? How are you influencing? I want that to sink in. I want you to come back. Are you acting as an influencer, as a noun, as a person, place or thing, as about you, as about what you're all about, or using influencer as a verb? Leading somebody, leading someone, leading something to something greater than themselves, something that is going to change their life, something that is going to impact them for much longer than the time that they're engaged with you. Because remember, it's not about us. It's not about what we can do, but rather how many people we help, how many people we serve it and how we show up.
